Full Arsenal injury list update Nov 3rd – Clichy and Bendtner out, Rosicky in!

Rosicky back in squad again
Arsenal’s injury list always seems to be on the cusp of being reduced to zero, when another few problems arise. Today it is the turn of Gael Clichy and Nicklas Bendtner to join the long-term list. Both are expected to be out for at least four weeks after it was found that Clichy has a small fracture in his back, and Bendtner’s groin injury is worse than first thought.
“We have some bad news because Bendtner was quite seriously injured and on top of that we lost Gael Clichy with a back injury that was not expected,” Wenger said.
“Bendtner was expected, Clichy was not expected and it looks like he could be out for a while.
“We fear a stress fracture of the back for Clichy and if that’s the case he will be out for a few weeks.
“Nicklas (Bendtner) we still don’t know yet but he will be out at least for four weeks.”
Theo Walcott remains out. Two weeks ago Wenger said: “It is a medial knee ligament injury, which is what I feared. He will be out for three to four weeks.” We have heard nothing since, but from Walcott’s past history, he normally takes longer than forecast to return to the squad.
The GOOD news is that Thomas Rosicky will be in the frame for a start against Alkmaar. Rosicky said in an interview yesterday that he felt back to his best, and Wenger has included him in the squad.
Also Eduardo was looking fit in today’s training, and Nasri is still short of match fitness but could figure at some point against Alkmaar if things are going well.
Lukasz Fabianski was unluckily injured in his first game back after his original injury and will be missing for another fortnight, so Mannone will be on the bench while Almunia keeps his Number One spot.
Jack Wilshere and Carlos Vela were both expected to resume training this week, but there have no new announcements on their condition, so we will have to assume they won’t be included. Armand Traore also missed the Carling Cup match with Liverpool thanks to a groin problem, and we are still awaiting developments.
Denilson’s injury was more serious than first thought, but again it is hoped that he will be able to resume training before the end of November.
And Johan Djourou, as we all know, is not likely to figure again this season.
So from looking like Wenger was going to have most of his team back, the list has extended itself again. It always seems to be that way with Arsenal!
