Gervinho: I respect Wenger’s vision and so should Arsenal fans!
The new Arsenal striker Gervinho hails Wenger for the effort he puts in to the club, and says that Arsenal is on the right track to become a big trophy-winning club.
According to the Ivorian, Wenger needs to get more praise for the level Arsenal is at the moment, and that people should not forget that if it wasn’t for Arsene, the club would probably not be where it is right now.
“It’s Arsene’s job to choose his players and I believe in his vision. Whatever player Arsene picks to play for Arsenal, I respect that and so should the fans.”, said Gervinho
“Critics and criticism are part of the game and I’ve not been affected by it.
“But people should remember Arsene is the one who has brought the club to its current level, he’s the one who has helped make its great history.
“Of course, I’d have been happy to have played alongside Cesc and Samir because they are both world-class players.
“But, unfortunately, they have moved on in their careers just like I have with my move from Lille to Arsenal and I must respect the paths they have followed.
“I’d still have signed for Arsenal if they had been sold before I arrived — there are still great players at this club.”
“Playing for Arsenal is a dream come true for me. I never expected to become an Arsenal player this early in my career.
“But there were times I thought the move would never happen. I had been linked with Arsenal for the last two summers — but nothing came of it.
“A couple of other English clubs were also interested in me this summer but then I got a call from my agent and Lille saying they were talking to Arsenal.
“However, I didn’t believe them until Arsene phoned me. Even then I tried to recognise the voice I had heard so many times on TV to convince myself it was actually him.”
Gervinho showed devotion and ambition since he joined the club. He had a splendid pre-season, but everybody is waiting for him to score his first goal in an official game. He is turning out to be exactly the type of player Arsenal needs, and when he will start scoring goals he will surely become a fan favourite at the Emirates.

Wenger might be right, but his management team is crap.
Our defense needs better guidance, perhaps replace the worthless pat rice with Tony Adams… and definitely change that so called medical staff we have.
I think the players are alright, and wenger might still be the wenger I used to know. But definitely the people who are supposed to be helping him are drowning him.
Perhaps in January we could replace djorou with Cahill.

Whats that today for a game?! 2 Own goals in 1 game?! Shame. Gervinho? 1 Goal. But has to score again oder pass. Shame. Arsenal better team, 2 Times in front, but losing 4-2? Shame. Arsenal don’t need to sign new defenders, Arsenal need to sign an entire new defence coaching staff.
The defending is fucking awful. Wenger needs to FIRE whoever is in charge of defence training and routines, sign a proper class defence coach and give him 100% responsibility of defence training without interference! This shit defending is pissing me off. It’s not the players (as we saw vs Dortmund), it’s the fucking tactics.

again, today showed our squad is a mid-table squad, when the top teams are buying top players, we are shopping in the bargain corner, Mertesacker, the cheap option to Cahill, Benayoun, the free option top Hazard or Mata, ….
Unfortunately, we are not being told the truth, is there money for transfers, if there was, and wenger did not utilise it, he needs to go, if the money wasnt there, then the board need to tell the truth, and let Usmanov have control, as he IS prepared to put money into the club…
Either way, we, the supporters are not being treated with the respect we deserve.

The only 2 players who went to meet the ball and try and make things happen were Ramsey and RVP. Just not good enough. No hunger at all. Looked like the other starting eleven just tried to do enough to win and that back fired in there faces. Most of that team need a proper bollocking.

oh Lord have Mercy on Arsenal. The amount of bad luck we seem to be getting nowadays with injuries/cards/own goals its crazy. I know this should not be an excuse for the weak performances. Arsene Wenger has to sit down with the board and decide if he really wants to continue at Arsenal and INVEST in BIG players to return BIG TROPHIES! Our bench always looks so weak compared to other teams bench. koscielny has got potential but far from his peak Djorou is not arsenal material he’s total crap. Per needs a good defender like Vermealen next to him that can run fast and think fast as Per is good in the air and lacks speed. Arsene needs to invest more so we have depth in our team and players that will come off the bench and perform. It really hurts to see Arsenal in such a mess. I Pray for Arsenal’s future

@ Asif Best rant I’ve heard in the last two seasons, the scary thing it’s all true. I said at the beginning of last season, if we don’t win anything this season, I would understand if Fabregas would go. I said Fabie give AFC and AW one more season. He did just that and we didn’t win jack. So he left. You know why? We had a defensive problem since all the way back then. AW did nothing about it and we ended up losing crucial games. Still today we have a defensive problem. Samba should have been playing for us, we saw what a solid player he is, something Arsenal desperately needed. We could have had Cahill, Hazard, Mata and Young all playing for us. But unfortunately Wenger held onto his coin purse like an old lady crossing the street. We had the money to bring in the quality but didn’t. The board are not to blame because they had given Wenger the green light to spend on the players he needed. Imagine if he had upgraded the defense last season. We would probably have won something, therefore Fabregas and even Nasri would still be at Arsenal. End of the day, proof is in the pudding…Arsenal have become a fucking joke. We used to be feared and we used to play with passion and win.
Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. I have been supporting Arsenal since I was early enough to kick a football. I’m 28 now, but as sad as I am to say this, I really hope Arsenal continue to get drilled thisseason, so bad that that french poes of coach/manager can pack his bags and go back to managing a second rate team in France.
We need a new manager. As you said Asif, anyone can do a better job than AW. His expiry date was reached 2 seasons ago.

A quick analisis of today’s game:
Santos…was he a defender before he came to arsenal??
cause his position at the back 4 cost us 2 goals
Koscielny…mentelly he not a player that should play at a topclub like Arsenal. You saw it at the beginning of the game, when he gave some horrible passes, followed by an own goal.
Getting 2 own goals doesnt mean your unlucky, it means the position of the players wherent good enough, because if an attacker runs into the box, the defender should already has his position taken, instead of running back like kosciely did.
Then a point of criticism to Wenger: How can you start with Ramsey, and put Bennayoun on the bench???
Shure hes a good player and all that, but we lack experience, and bennayoun is a player that has experience and he is highly motivated.
Arsenal let me down today, but there is always a next game

@ Dal, i disagree. RVP did nothing. Ramsey was medioca. The only players worth mentioning were Sagna, Song, Arteta and Gervinho, Scezny. Song was outstanding. Arteta had a great first half. Gervinho was the only one who looked dangerous. The rest were hopeless. Walcott looked good when he came on. I do not know why he didn’t bring on Frimpong who at least fights for the ball. AFC = Arsenal Football Circus. What a joke it has become. We have a clown as a manager who thinks he is a Grammy Nominee Actor. AW PLEASE LEAVE AFC and take the rest of the clowns with you. Koscielny, Djoure, Arshavin you are hopeless and need to go. We need another two good defenders, another world class midfielder and two new strikers. RVP is as lazy as a sloth. I come back from holiday and am subjected to Blackburn horror-show. This is gonna be a loooonnnggggg season.
@asif: u make a good point mate (about RB) I’ve been thinking about what would happen if Sagna is injured. I didn’t know Djour. plays RB but he sucks at CB and I’m sure would be worse at RB.
The 1-1 at Dortmund started talks about how the team is defending like a unit now…well that was short lived!!
Maybe I’m being negative but then with such performances it’s hard to find positives.
Wenger’s policy is taking the team down season after season. In 6 years we have come down from title contenders to 5-6th position battlers, that’s 1 position down a season.

nasri dissapered by xmas and fab well i can count on 1 hand the decent performances he put in last year so the squad that got us to march in all four competitions is still there and actually stronger than before!
The team is broken mentally its got nothing to do with the quality as mentioned above, im one of wengers biggest fans anyone thats read my posts know this, but its his job as a manager to galvanise this squad and get it functioning as a team and if he cant do that for what ever reason he will have to step aside!
As i said fab and nasri had very little impact on the success we nearly achieved last year so the players must also take responsability for falling apart so badly there is no excuse.
Bottom line is five 0-0s would of been a better start to the season than this tripe, atleast it would show the team was together and solid even if the football we like to play took time to come back, priority’s and basics mr wenger! untill you get these things sorted even your biggest fans like me cant defend you even if we wanted to!

But if u analyse the reason, u would get the answer..They almost play the Arsenal way – typical passing, short players with no aerial intimidation…
EPL is jus another different dimension…much more physical…the body contacts are more violent..if u wud hv watched Per MERTASACKER TODAY, U WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT HE IS STILL QUITE FRAGILE ( DESOITE HIS TOWERING SIZE ), – WELL IT’S TOO EARLY tocondemn him…but we just do not have quality players to challenge at the top…

This is going to be real monumental season for us. If we don’t finish in the top 4 it means that we risk losing players (who want to play CL football) and we wont be able to sign class players for the same reason (not that we ever sign proven players). This in turn will lead to lesser revenue, lower reputation which will lead to lesser ticket sales which again will lead to lesser revenue which in turn will mean less muscle to flex even if we want good players. It’s going to turn into a vicious circle…..

After 6 seasons of seeing that none of his decisions work, i think we are completely in our right to have a say.
First off, it is not logical what he does, when you replace something, you ought to replace it for something better. If we sold henry, fabregas, nasri, cole, viera, we ought to replace at least some with someone of the same quality or better, or perhaps just hold on onto them.
And a 5 year old can put up better tactics than what wenger has this season.

Why are people still saying Wenger is not to blame? There are teams much worse than Arsenal that go to Old Trafford and Ewood Park and not get humiliated. The difference being these teams will not have a manager with his head in the clouds.

AFC has become a joke. I said it two seasons ago that AW was slowly running this club into the ground. I don’t have enough to go on that the shareholders/board members have limited Wengers pocket money to that of a 10 year old, but seriously even with the money Wenger has spent, he has bought RUBBISH over the past few seasons. Two seasons have gone with a defensive problem and WE STILL HAVE ONE!! MANAGERIAL FAILURE RIGHT THERE!! This french twat must go please and take all the fail players with him, like Kossie, Djoure, Arshavin, Jenkinson, Chamakh etc etc. His desperation buy in the transfer window was the last straw for me, for a manager to hold back when he obviously had the money to buy certain players (later that was revealed when he all of a sudden hiked the pitch price for Hazard, Gotze, M’Villa) it unacceptable.
The only way we are going to get rid of this clown and perhaps some of the greedy board members – basically to fix AFC’s problem is by not giving them ANY support…by that I mean not buying game tickets, merch, whatever…because let’s face it they have been laughing all the way to the bank and taking the loyalty and passion of us fans and of this once feared club for a ride.
It makes me sick that after 05 when we had so much money, good players, and reputation behind us that we could sink this low. IN WENGER WE RUST

Stop stop stop……. You guys are over doing it we are not getting relegated and we don’t suck. Our luck is just terrible… 2 own goals and a offside goal? Like I said bad luck and against BVB some kid gets a wonder goal that he couldnt score in practice. Let the defense come together and mesh and don’t forget vermaleon is still hurt. Per will come around and be solid and if not it happens. He is a great player on the German team but again this is new to him.be happy our attack was so amazing and be realistic our goal is 4rth this season with all the injuries, bad luck, and loss of players that is what seems possible. So stop with all the crying and bi*ching and wait and see. It’s a long season with another transfer window in the future.
p.s. Stop blaming AW for things he has no control over like own goals and lack of offside calls. If I recall right two offsides calls where missed and both led to goals against Liverpool!

Yesterdays shower of shite at blackburn was embarrasing . I can’t actually belive how shite metesacker actually is ! He has absolutely no pace , he dosen’t pick up runners and he jogs back into the box when he should be sprinting .As soon as i saw the first game he played i knew he was awful . our week days training/theory are very week comparing to other club i will not say wenger must focus on that bcz i know he’s brain is fully occopied by money and youth policy,otherwise y would we struggle to weakest side.in average we have better player then they have.

Some of you do not sound like true Arsenal funs. Regardless of what happened during a game AW is still one of the top club managers out there, period. Quit winning after every game bashing the manager. He is trying to reorganize a team which lost its core players at the beginning of a season and that was a big blow to any manager. AW does not have to prove his ability to anybody, he had shown that time and time again and knowing what is available out there, Arsenal could not find a manager that could come close to AW stature, so quit wining and get behind your team. True Arsenal funs will be there no matter what, rain or shine. The professor (AW) will deliver again, have faith in your team and give the players positive support. Enough of this nonsense bashing and it is time for all Gunner funs to come together behind our team no matter what. We will have plenty of time to criticize during next break now is the time for action, let us be behind AW and our beloved team 110%. Gunner for life.
