Good News! – Arsenal confirm they are looking for a new goalkeeper
Arsenal have been linked with every available goalkeeper in the world in the last few weeks, but there has been no indication from the club itself…until now.
All the latest rumours have been saying that the Gunners have been trying to get the Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer or West Ham’s Robert Green, and today the Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood confirmed that they have made an approach to Fulham for the Australian international.
He said in the Daily Star: “We have made an inquiry for him and they are not prepared to sell him so we have gone away. We can only hope they will change their minds, but at the moment it doesn’t look like it.”
Well it is bad news that Fulham won’t take any offers for the big Aussie, but at least it DOES mean that Arsenal are actively looking for a new keeper………

We need to stop shopping in the bargain basement and act like a club with aspirations to win the league.
If the money is there spend it on someone who will be the cornerstone of the club.

i dont want him in our club, we have two of him already, we have to money for once so spend it not only on someone that is great but someone that can meantor our young and up coming GK’s. someone like Ceaser or Frey

Schwarzer is quality.
Just because he plays for Fulham doesn’t mean he’s bad.
Look at Van Der Sar, he was around 35 I think when he moved to Man United from Fulham.
At least try to sign buffon or akinfeev! Schwarzer is too old!!
1 thing that amazes me: for oufield playaz we go 4 skul boyz, 4 gk we go 4 a retired skulhead, 2 xtremes. why not go 4 a teacher in the classroom? cant we look for som1 in the mid or late 20s? where is our investment sence?
Arsen has stated he is building a young team tis seems to me like again a bargin basement buy what message does this send out to the fans,the arsenal players and the rest of europe? we need to start spending some of the profits that have been made over the last trophyless years.

why are people criticizing schwarzer because his team finished 12th? incase some people havnt noticed 1 man doesnt make a team (unless its man utd). athletico madrid finished 9th in la liga, does that mean that forlan and aguero are crap???? i hate it when people who know nothing about football automatically assume that because a player doesnt play for a champions league team they are rubbish. anyone who watches football will know that mark schwarzer is a top class keeper with plenty of experience who is miles better than almunia. i would gladly have schwarzer in the arsenal team until our young keepers (mannone and sczceszny) are ready to take over
Scwarzer would be great bt i would have wanted some1 better like sebastian frey…..watever the thing is that we really need some explosive player and a wall in the defence…….i heard about that eden hazard that he is quite explosive……nasri can play in the centre ,i think we have a serious problem with the right flank….i want nasri to play in the middle and want arsene to buy some1 for the right flank bcoz walcott is crap……
i was delighted when i first heard this. Everybody doesn’t trust in AW. This shows that he knows what is the problem in the team and im absolutely convinced that he will fix it. We don’t even need a midfielder. Just 2 CB. AW will look into that for sure…and i have a feeling we are in for a awesome season next time

Some of you are dumb fawks! When it comes to goal keeping you need an older experienced person, and some of you are too short sighted to see Schwarzer is exactly what we need, you just love hearing big names even if it means we spend 30m and the flop! I’m allergic to dumbness and a lot of you are dumb. “Bargain basement” When Van Der Saar was at Fulham he was older and moved to Man U, we see the results. These morons forgot we have Szcezsny who will eventually be our number 1, so what happens to him? when you geniuses get Joe Hart or Lloris? The only other goalie i’d take is Frey and Buffon if he is cheap, but no crazy money for either as we have our future goal keeper in Mannone or Szeczsny! Now stop moaning and get behind the team.
What is going on at our club? One day Wenger says he wants to sign players before WC lest they cost sill money and now all we have signed is Charmack who was still to come anyway.
Now we have some ppl spouting that at least we have said it out loud that we need a gk. What a load od tripe, we needed a gk years ago. In fact we as soon as Lehman lost form. What is so new about that?

We need a big, strong lad a la Essien to bulldose through and leave Cesc and Van Persie to do the beaut and sophisticated stuff. Without that we are going nowhere.
Imagine how many chances we got last season but we were too weak to take them.

anythings gotta be better than what we have, we can get 2 good seasons out of him, maybe 3 if no injuries.. give up on the idea of buffon, his wage demand would be 100k plus easily !

I hope it works! I don’t really have problems with whosoever the Boss deciedes to buy. I trust his judgement when it comes to buying good players although admitted that he doesn’t specialized in goal keeping! I know we need good Center backs even if we don’t buy keepers am sure Alumunia will do much better next season!
Why not Pepe Reina,Liverpool are skint and he is top drawer.
