Gourcuff linked with loan move to Arsenal in January
Arsene Wenger has been an admirer of the French international midfielder Yoann Gourcuff for many years, since he was a youth player at Rennes in fact, but currently the 25 year-old is languishing on the bench at Lyon and the French press are reporting that Arsenal have arranged a deal with the French giants to take Gourcuff to the Emirates to try and revitalise his career.
Gourcuff’s ill-fated move to AC Milan as a 20 year-old was a disaster but he returned to his former best when he returned to Ligue 1 with Bordeaux which then led to a €22m move to Lyon.
Since then his career has stagnated again and was not helped by a niggling ankle injury that required surgery in the summer. Since then he has not ben given much playing time, and Lyon are hoping that Wenger can bring the midfield star back up to speed with a view to buying him permanently in the summer.
Many Arsenal fans were looking to Gourcuff as the perfect replacement for Cesc Fabregas in the summer, but it seems that Wenger was waiting to see how well Gourcuff recovered from his surgery. Hopefully he will now be able to investigate if fully at first hand…….

On the cheap, why not, but I’m not a Gourcuff fan though. Far too irrgular and hasn’t been able to step it up once in his career, I think he’s a headcase anyway

He could be quite handy. But, we need replacement/backup for RVP. Podolski, Goetze in transfer window. Then we are talking again…..

i think wenger need worry more abt RVP and Walcot and same time f v can keep them both and f v can buy Gotze and Pudolski. this team is way ahead i guess. may be another right defender. would be perfect to represent sagnas missing

hmm… lyon are out of the cl and have to sell some stars, right?!
gourcuff could come on the cheap, so why not. but i’d watch his progress till january closely. we don’t need another benchwarmer or invalid at our club.

Gourcoff would be a perfect signing for Wenger. With Arteta not producing too much on the creative side of things, not to mention one harsh tackle away from inury, and Wilshere not returning before February, he could do a solid job for us during tougher times.

I haven’t seen him play enough… although I’m not sure what plans Wenger would have for another CM, we already have Rambo, Jack, Arteta, Benny, Rosicky + our CDMs and wingers.
As soon as Jacks back he’ll pair him with Rambo in the centre… so all I could think of is if we’re planning on letting Arshavin/Rosicky leave quite soon and letting Benny back to Chelsea.

We stood by and supported RVP when he was injured for 4 years. I do not see any reason why he would suddenly leave Arsenal for another club.

If Arsene could bring Gourcoff bak to 50% of his former glory that wld b brilliant he has great skill, killer pass, good shot on him & reads the game excellntly!
When on his game he is world class! Hope he gets bak 2 his best! In Arsene we trust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With all the media hype, i hope he is a great player and asset to the club. But if he is an injury prone player, then i dont think Arsenal should buy him. We have R.v.p and Walcott constant injuries to deal with not adding another one. Gunners till Tom catches Jerry.
