Guess what? Arsenal haven’t got any centre-backs for tomorrows game!
Oh no, hang on a minute, Arsenal still have Per Mertesacker! He could end up being an inspired signing for Arsene Wenger as he is the only established centre-back that Arsenal have available for tomorrows game against Olympiakos.
We all know that Thomas Vermaelen is still out and may be for some time after his new surgery, and Johann Djourou and Sebastien Squillaci are also on the so-called injury list, although Squillaci has been reported to have been actually looking for another club whilst on the “treatment table“.
Today Arsenal have announced that Laurent Koscielny is also unavailable this evening after damaging his ankle at the weekend against Swansea.
This means that Wenger will probably have to pull Alexander Song back to cover beside Mertesacker, but that will leave Arsenal short in midfield. The latest injuries, after Jack Wilshere’s bad news, and of course Abou Diaby and Yossi Benayoun, is foremost headed by Gervinho and Theo Walcott, who are both missing tonight as well.
You may call me cynical, but I have a strange feeling that Squillaci will be having a miraculous recovery and will be making his first appearance alongside Mertesacker.
That should cheer up the Arsenal fans!

I think that as long as the youngsters who are going to be deputising for the missing star players go out all attack and show them how to play the game, we should have no problem. Positivity and a can win attitude is what our lads need.
Although i strongly agree with the earlier comment regarding the £50M kitty. Spend the money and bring in some established known talent. I dont know why Wenger never revised the bid for Hazard and why we are not looking to bring some cheap but experienced players into the frame. I always wonder why he is not chasing Henry to try and bring him back from the U.S. Since he left, Arsenal have become a broken squad and have relied too heavily on the likes of Van Persie (in contract talks), Nasri (gone), Fabregas (gone) and Arshavin (who at the moment in my opinion really isnt on top of his game).

Well someone said “the business of business is doing business”, but the “business” of football is playing football and winning trophies, not making profits whatsoever.
So we need players to be available to play and players who are great in order to win trophies. So stop buying the walmart players and pay the price for the players we really need. and more importantly stop selling and stop bargaining with their salaries. At the end players pay more taxes than the schmucks of the board (because of bonuses corporation and al of that crap) so in every sense I rather see that money in the players pocket than in the hidden Swiss account of this board.
There is no reason to not sign Cahill or other CB in January, and we should recall Bartley.
We don’t need to be debt free, we need to win trophies, I’m sure with trophies you pay the interest and earn further profits.

we will not see squid and by the special grace of God will not be seeing him in our red and white for a long time to come. when that time comes if ever may it be in Carling cup.
I think we will play Ignasi today if it comes to that, song definitely will be at the mid field not a chance at the central defense not after such a brilliant display against bolton. Its not rocket science.

keeper, we got our no 1 keeper Szczeney. defensive we got mertesacker, sagna, jenkinson, kieran gibbs, andre santos, ignasi miquel, daniel boateng and martin angha. though miquel, boateng and angha are young. but they’re pretty established players. way better squillaci and djourou. midfield. we got rosicky, ramsey, arteta, coquelin, song, chamberlain. attacking RVP, chamakh, arshavin, j.y park, ryo.

I would put Song in DF next to Per and play Frimpong in DM. Play Santos left back. He has only played one game, I think he is much better than that little bit of exposure we got to see. It’s actually quite humorous that a club as big as AFC might have to rely on the MF players to play in defense because we are fresh out of defenders!
@ Malik Unfortunately some of our fellow supporters are willfully ignorant of the fact that Wenger and the board have made a complete hashup of things in the last two seasons, especially over the last transfer window. They need a kickup the backside.

@Forever Gunner sadly even he is injured… he didn’t feature in training cos of injury… martin angha and daniel boateng were in the first team training yesterday, but song is likely to play alongside per with either frimpng or coquelin with ramsey and arteta in midfield… i expect frimpong… chamberlain and arshavin as wingers, with rpv as the forward… maybe park ju-jung for chambo…

Our medical team is a bunch of assholes –
A few examples –
1) Abou Diaby remains fit for 30% of Arsenal playing time- rest he is on medical board.. wtf does our medicos do? They could declare him unfit, made of flimsy bones & muscles & hasten the departure …
2) In 2008/2009- Bendtner was 80% time unavailable bcos of mysterious injury which the medics couldn’t guess…
3) Nasri, Fabregas, Rosicksy -all have been in 7 out for innumerable days from 2008-2010
4) The classic case for Thomas Vermealan last year – joker AW & his band of idiots predicted one month which lasted more than one year- and after 4 more games, it seems that he would last another 6 months on the injury list ( although it’s the other leg this time )
5) And need we forget one more – Theo Walcott & RVP- ALWAYS PRONE TO INJURY – end up missing >50% of te matches in the medical room
If you analyse with a clear mind – u would relaise why our medical team is the worst in the PL…

GOD FORBID if SQUILACI plays today’s match remember he’s not the kind we really need in arsenal right now .
don’t try to let SONG to play defender tonight rather than SANTOS, santos isn’t a kid anymore, in case like this what happens is tranform some experience players like santos to the wing tonight .
for example BARCELONA used ABIDAL in the defensive line just in case PUYOL/PIQUE isn’t around or injuries that’s what experience coach does.
another example is CHELSEA uses IVANOVIC for defensive line in case of any injury that’s what a experience coach does .
to say the GOSPEL truth ARSENAL doesn’t have any players as of now YES… even when the present of FABRIGAS and NASRI, CLINCHY. because we’re not winning any trophy then so we still need good matured players and experience as well . just look at our injured players now about 10/11 players down in the name of ARSENAL, why can’t you buy players that you pay very well so that they will deliver a trophy for the club or is there anything going on that club that no one knows about? you guy should be truthfull to yourselfs.
