Has Arsenal already done a deal for this young Chile star?

The Gunners have been linked with the young Universitario De Deportes striker Andy Polo for some time, with reports saying that the 16 year-old was set to join Arsenal in the New Year. Well now the 17 year-old has now confirmed that he will moving to a European team shortly.
He said: “I am very happy because I’ve been sold to a European team. I’m just waiting for the confirmation from my agent.”
There were recent stories saying that Real Madrid had hijacked the deal for Arsenal and he was on his way to Spain, but Polo scuppered that when he concluded by saying: “I’m now taking English lessons.”
So it is nigh on certain he will be coming to the Premier League, but is it going to be Arsenal?

2+2=4, and 16 year-old + english lessons= probably arsenal
(cos these kind of youngsters are of the opinion that wenger’s the best coach 4 them and also that they will have a better chance 2 play at arsenal than any other club )
anyway against city,it was a proof that playing talented youngsters together for many years is very beneficial 4 the club !!!!
u know wen i read the headlines,thought it wasn’t a youth…… sigh

If he’s got arsenal and real madrid fighting over him at 16 then he must be a fantastic prospect- I just hope that if we do buy him, its not to fill the position of back-up striker. I think most would agree its doubtful we can rely on a 16 year old to provide adequate cover for van persie!

It is good we keep finding youth to put into our successful academy. I am telling you now, teams with successful youth academies will prosper in the near future. Teams like Man city and Chelsea will not survive under fair play and other policies that will be enforced in the years to come. You heard it here first.

Dont know much about him. But if Real Madrid wanted him we should probably try and get him. We are short on potentially world class young strikers. Cambell isnt AS good as most of you guys are making him about to be.

Great, but what about the now? We need to start winning in order to keep these youngsters with us one day when they become stars. I do not feel like saying this, as AFC have done really well over the last month, but seriously if we do not win anything this season and do not sign any world class players, what will happen to RvP, Walcott, Song, Szczesny come Jan? They have all been approached by major clubs like Madrid, Barca, City. We have to break this cycle and start bringing victories and silverware home in order to keep what is most valuable to us.
Looks like Inter Milan are looking to bid for Ramsey in Jan. Barca are very interested in Walcott. We must do something to keep them, raise the wage structure or like I said bring in one or two world class players to show them we mean business and want to bring home the silverware.

I wouldn’t rate him so highly considering that he has only played in the peruvian league, one of the worst of south america, so any decent player would look as a future star with such a little challange. Also, peruvian players are usually undisciplined, so lets hope he is not.

Why again invest in youth when its now proven, since being experienced players has changes our way of playing for the better? I know we need up and coming players, but the time is not now but when we’ve become successful. It’s more experience we need in the team.
