Has Wenger played a blinder with ALL 4 Arsenal signings?

II think it is safe to say that most Arsenal fans were far from happy with the summer transfer window until Arsene Wenger and his transfer team pulled off the signing of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid. That last minute deal has got all the newspapers, football websites, pundits and commentators talking, but it doers seem to have made people forget about the other three new Arsenal players.

I can understand why Gooners were unhappy before Ozil was signed, but let’s take another look at them and see what we’ve got. Mathieu Flamini has professed that he feels like he never left the club, despite having been in Italy for five seasons with AC Milan. That is testament to the feeling of stability and continuity at the Emirates, and it also means that he can slot straight back into the team.

Wenger has said that it was Flamini’s fitness and his desire to win that made him offer the midfielder a second spell at the club, and his performance when coming on in the north London derby seems to back that decision. Are their better players out there in Flamini’s position? Almost certainly, but would they have fitted so effortlessly into the Arsenal side? Almost certainly not. The fact he was fee was a nice bonus.

Emiliano Viviano is a well rated keeper who performed admirably for Fiorentina in Serie A last season, helping them to 4th in the Italian league. He seems to be good enough to push Szczesny without pushing him out, while getting him on loan means we can sign him permanently next summer if he impresses, or release him if he doesn’t.

Finally we come to young Yaya Sanogo. We must remember he is only 20-years old and has already had his career interrupted by injuries. Despite this, and the fact he has been playing in the lower French leagues with Auxerre, he was the main man for the France under 21 international team. He has got huge potential, but a lot of work to do. However, there is very little pressure on him and he has got brilliant support at Arsenal. It may be a year or two before we start to see his true talent, but I am sure we will.

I must say things started off badly, but signings turned out to be great with the major signing of mesut ozil ! The other signings will do great things for us I, overall things turned out to be alright! Cant wait to see what the january transfer window brings for us? Hopefully lewandowski, bender,?

Flamini is fantastic. He’s got the grit, the leadership and the experience that our midfield lacks when Mikel is out. Even when Mikel is fit we lack grit and the kind of no BS attitude that Flamini brings.

Sanogo has a phenomenal scoring record so far, he’s fast for such a tall player and he can and will hit the target no matter how he’s asked to do it. His passing, movement and first touch has left a little to be desired when playing in an Arsenal shirt. Luckily those things can be taught.

Viviano can be a top top quality keeper. He’s on par with many of the best keepers in the top clubs. Seriously. I’m exited to see how he does in England, as the play is a bit faster than in Italy. Remember him against Juve last year where he kept Fiorentina in the game single handedly.

4 goals in 7 matches for France U20 in Euros13.
        Also 2 assist.

        Phenomenal is right.

11 goals in 21 games for Auxerre.
34 goals in 55 games for various French U-national teams.
That totals to 45 goals in 77 games (he has played one for us as well).
For a 20 year old who has had his fair share of injuries, that’s rather good.

Before Ozil was singed Wenger himself said that we will compete for the title in 2 years. But after ozil i think even he would like to think differently.
Its a 50-50 between Chelsea and us.

      Well no!!
It’s more like 75/25 in favour of Chelsea.
If you were a bookie I’d snap your hand off right now on betting on Chelsea to finish above us.

Your right leo Wenger didn’t play a blinder!
He wanted a forward and didn’t get 1
And he wanted a defender I think like Micah Richards and we didn’t get 1.
We are 1 Giroud injury away from having not 1 good striker in the squad.

Difficult to get a CB that is a top player ready to compete when in a World Cup year they want to be playing. I sense though that Sketal will be available come January and possibly could of been this summer, whether he is good enough is another question. Also this summer I think resigning Toure as a squad player would of been good.
Striker? I just can’t see a top striker out there available, Arsene has his eye on a few unknowns I’m sure but we need establish players in there right now, he knows that and also that they are not available. Only one I would of tried to get is Chiharito

Please dpn’t ever mention Song on here again..He was the biggest traitor. He had 3 more years on his contract and was becoming a cult hero. we almost worshiped him that we forgot Theo was an assist master too but what did he pay us with???And how the hell would anyone ever think Song is better than Flamini???Even in 10 years time, he won’t.Sanogo is about the age RVP was when he came, did we loan him out?Did he not get our mouth watering??Lets just support our team and stop being an Oliver twist.

consider that he was our second best player right after rvp Arsenal gave him a harsh treatmant…

he was asking for an improved contract 60k..as he was earning below the likes of Djorou,Park,Bendner and many more

Arsenal was bs around telling him to appreciate his contract…Barcelona showed interes and the rest of the story is known to us…

he shoot himself on the foot and so did we….and for what 60k…lol he is not a traitor

I am glad we sold him. Arteta is a better influence for our young talent. And he plays like that by sitting back supporting the likes of Ramsay, Wilshere, Walcott, Ox…
Selling Song was money well made.
Just to think of the dark days when we lost Fabregas, RVP, Nasri, Song and where we are now.
Credit to Arsene and the staff…But nothing is won yet, we need honours

With 4 – 5 top midfielders in Arsenal and less striker,is there any chance that Mr.Wenger trying to do a False 9 tactic? because we got wallcot as RWM (speed) and Cazorla as LWM ( speed and both clinical strike legs ) and of course the killer ozil as false 9??…and CM we’ve got wilshere and ramsey..hmmm goodness.

I find it strange that so many put club ahead of country.

This attitude seems to change the less successful the club is or when the domestic league isn’t so good.

            @FT
Your right or maybe jus the fact that some people who support Arsenal on here arnt English so couldn’t care less whether we fielded no English players.
I think it is a debate to be had considering its international week.
Get us away from the usual bulls**t transfer rumours.
What you think about what I said at least 3 elligble English players playing in each team round the country.
Spain and German teams field lots of their own nations players in their top sides but premier league teams don’t!
Time for a Change for me.

What about bender in summer to replace arteta ? In january, he’ll be cup tied. But a striker in january is a must. Then a 4th choice young cb. A complete team, which can beat anyone, everyone.

we have 4 CBs in Verm, Kosc, Mert and Sagna.. but it would be good to get someone like Zouma but sitting on the bench week in week out would ruin his development

once uppon on a time a wise man…questioned by the reporter what the team needed to win a leuage he responded…

we need balls…we do need balls (oli kahn lol)

we need more players who are like Flamini….playing beatifull and such is nice but we have to be more reckless at times ….and include also a dirty side in our team as i think Arsenal have become very soft….without patrick vieira

@Arashbehnia Song was never in flamin’s class not now not ever diffensively wise. Remember when we had song we conceded too many goals.. Song is a cdm but not in the mold of flamini. Flamini has his priority as defending while song the other way round..so my point diffensively wise wenger was right to bring flamini back because he is going to play his heart out..once a gunner always a gunner..coyg
