Hazard Still A Target For Arsenal
Despite stealing away a transfer target from Ligue 1 side Lille, Arsenal still have their sights set on buying one of their star players, Eden Hazard.
Wenger has long been interested in the Belgian international and they tried to buy the 20-year-old for £28million last month. But the offer was too late in the transfer period to go through. Although Wenger will hope it can still happen in January.
The Daily Star spoke to a source at the club that said: “Negotiating had all but been done but Lille didn’t have a suitable player to come in for Hazard so it fell short. But Arsene will make it happen come January.”
This despite the fact that Arsenal poached a playerd, Park Chu-Young, from under the noses of Lille. Park had undergone a medical and was about to sign from Monaco when he heard of Arsenal’s interest. He decided to move to the Gunners at the last minute and this may have damaged the relationship between Arsenal and Lille.
Meanwhile Liverpool are also interested in Hazard and may believe they have a better chance than Arsenal since they are loaning Joe Cole to Lille.

Do all you can to get hazard arsene. Loan Lille Rosicky or diaby or even chamberlain in January and we should be able to beat out Liverpool. I only see this happening I Lille don’t make the knockout stages of the CL. I would advise going after Hamsik if Lille makes it through. He is just as good, has a couple more years of experience, and it will be very difficult for Napoli to go through as they drew the group of death in the CL. I know Hamsik won’t be able to ply for us in the CL but he would be the major acqusition of “super quality” we were all promised even though per might just prove to be so as well.

In view of the near-signing of Hazard in the Summer Window, I would hope that the deal to bring him to the Emirates will be so advanced before the January Window, that he will be able to put pen to paper on January 2nd.

This is an essential move at Arsenal should do everything to seal in the January window.

Personally I feel there’s no need to worry. Arsenal can offer Hazard CL football this season where as Liverpool cannot. Hazard currently has CL football with Lille, doubt he’ll want to leave a team that’s in the Champions League for one that isn’t. If we were close to signing him this transfer window once we’ve climbed back up the table come January he’ll be as good as ours, especially if they sort out this wage bullsh*t. Not sure this is daily star originally. Saw it on Caughtofside.com a couple of days ago. Could be a load of male cow manure, or there might be some truth to it. Without Hazard, Lille would be screwed as they would have absolutely no chance in going through the group stages of the CL. My question is – if we go through, and Lille don’t, is Hazard still CL tied? … If not, then you never know. This may come to pass.
Let’s just focus on doing well with the team we have for now. Worry about the next transfer window when it opens. Till then, there’s no point in speculating if we have a chance with Hazard. And besides, buy what I gather, Hazard wasn’t the only team we were willing to pay big bucks for a pedigree player. Hopefully we buy someone of quality, and finish the season strong.

dont worry guys, i think arsenal have more money to offer than liverpool so, joe cole’s loan won’t mean much for an extra 5-10 mil plus additional clauses. according to spendsomefuckingmoney.com, arsenal still have around 70 mil pounds left in their coffers.

Despite Hazard is a big talent, but we must not forget that there is a lots of good player, but the question is can Arsenal play thier card cleverly,maybe Arsenal can promise him CL but is it enough for him? he is not Tartera,who is 29 years old and his time is alomst run out. anyway i hope i am wrong and we can buy him or buy someone like him, you can not say he is the only available player but, is Arsenl willing to pay that kind of money?

i think this is a smoke screen …we had 3 months to sign hazard if we had a wanted to…were all happy with the signings we made on transfer deadline because we thought there was’nt going to be any… 4 to 5 years ago we would have been up in arms with those signings..but this is the type of club we are now and that should’n be …

@ Liam I was thinking the same thing. The beginning of the transfer window was when AW butt cheeks were tighter than a virgin. He offered peanuts for Hazard originally and was obviously turned down. If he had offered the 28m + at the start, Hazard might already be wearing our kit. But Wenger had to wait till shit hit the fan. I hope he has learned from his lesson and I would be ecstatic like all of us if Hazard joins us in January. Let’s hope that Chu-young incident hasn’t pist ‘em off too much. If Liverfool also want dibs on him, it will come down to the green. This is one player Wenger must be prepared to fork out 35m for…he is worth it. He still has tons of cash after the transfer window too so no reason to outbid the opposition.

Hazard has said himself that the only two clubs he will play for are Arsenal and Real Madrid. But that he also wants first team football. It’s going to be damn hard to get into the Real Madrid first team, so his main option is Arsenal. This takes Liverpool out of the picture…
This adds to fact that Hazard is a massive Wenger fan and vice-versa. This means it’s only a matter of time before he signs for us. Bringing him in during the January window may be good. He will have played in the champions league and Lille will be knocked out ( I say this because they have lost three star players in Gervinho, Cabaye and Rami. ) this means he will know he will have to be at a bigger club to win. So he joins Arsenal. While he will be cup tied for the champions league, he can still be used in the domestic titles and could prove very valuable in our cause to win…

I seriously hope Wenger does sign him,,, am so anxiously waiting for this signing,, Wenger did say he’d spend the right money on the right player n sigting his admiration 4 Hazard and Hazard’s admiration for the Arsenall playing style and the possibility of working with Wenger then am convinced that this will 90% likely happen!! My only disagreement with this news is that Lille couldn’t find a replacement in time and that is why they didn’t let him go, I think Lille want Hazard’z value to go higher by him playing in the champion’s league! otherwise they would have taken the money and say that they want him back on loan 4 a year atleast?? or maybe the two clubz have already have a deal in place and they just want to respect Hazard’s desire to stay in Lille until they move to the new stadium- ??
