Hill-Wood: Robin Van Persie will stay at Arsenal

Posted on December 15, 2011 by admin

The Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood is more than aware that Robin Van Persie has postponed any new contract talks until next summer, but is convinced that the Dutchman is very happy at the Emirates and is sure to sign a new contract in the end.

“I think Robin wants to stay, he seems very happy,” said Hill-Wood.

“Nothing has been discussed, though it is obvious we want him to stay. He doesn’t want to talk about a contract now and that’s fine with us.”

Well all I can say is that ww Arsenal Fans can only hope that Hill-Wood and his cronies are going to help Van Persie make up his mind by matching any wage offers he is likely to get from other clubs.

Being cynical, I can see the board weighing up the options and thinking “We could save on the pay-rise and sell a 29 year-old for 20million.”

Whereas if Robin stays at Arsenal for another three years he will have no resale value at all…….

Peter Hill-Wood – His brain is over the hill and into the woods! The guy is so senile and ready to step down it’s not funny. I fall asleep when he talks.

Simple message to the big wigs:

    1)Pay RVP what he’s worth
    2)Buy some quality players
3)Give the fans what we deserve…..A Winning Ambition

Then we wouldn’t have this talk about RVP leaving!
    CASE CLOSED!!!!

  2. Gooner Fan From Cape Town says:

As I see things, Van Persie has a couple of options. He can either:

    a) Stay with Arsenal. If he does, he can become become a legend at the club and possible get a statue outside the Emirates. He can also be the Arsenal captain to lift our first trophy in 6 years.

    b) Join a team that guarantees trophy’s. If he does win a trophy with one of these team it wouldn’t be like his ‘own’. Winning a trophy means nothing if you didn’t play part in it.

    c) Leave Arsenal for higher wages. Well this will just destroy his reputation among Arsenal fans. Why throw something away that you’ve worked so hard on?

Let’s all hope Van Persie goes with the first option.

  5. stantheman says:

If he was that happy to stay at Arsenal, why is he not prepared to discuss a new contract. The answer must simply be a). will he be playing CL football next season and b). what others offers will the be open to him. If he is not playing CL football and a mega offer comes in for him on wages that we would not match, would he then stay, I doubt it. All I do know, is that Hiil Wood knows nothing.

Unlike cesc who wanted to return to his home club, & all the other glory hunting, money grabing players that dumped arsenal for ‘the grass is greener’ option….

I can’t see rvp doing that if, arsenal match the desire to succeed that he has shown on the pitch, AW must allow the board to release sufficient funds to be able to purchase top flight players.

We all know that arsharvin, chamakh, squlacci, diaby etc etc….. really do not have a future at arsenal (6 months top) & the January transfer window could be a very important time to buy the likes of Podolski, gotze & the usual unknown that AW discovers & develops, to allow the team to progress in the current campaign & time to mould for the next season.

I have faith rvp will stay, the statue will look fantastic..

    Dear Hill Wood,

Am sorry your words sound like those of a very silly man. RVP knows what is optimum for himself. Stop living in a dream world.

Whereas,as one of the stakeholders, your only interest is to milk players, fans and maximise your profit. Without proper balancing, one day it will backfire on you.

Please get to know that the intrests of other stakeholders need to be respected too.

Without buying the experienced players at the close of the buying window and under pressure we dont know where Arsenal would be now.

You bunch of tossers! Hill-Wood and the other directors built our great club, put money in and made it perhaps the most respected club in the world. Try looking at the history before being so disrespectful. We would not be anywhere without people like him. If you want us to be like Chelsea or Man city, with no class or tradition, go support them instead.

Please let this be the last time anybody will say ‘buy Poldoski’ on this site. Of all the strickers in the world that are scoring goals, what you want is Poldoski. All such people must be as senile as Hillwood themselves. I’ld much rather buy an unknown player with a 50% chance of success than a Poldoski that will come with such baggage.

I personally believe that there is a lot more behind Van persie’s signing of a new contract. He is more of a son to Arsene than Cesc was. Arsene put his neck on the line for Robin, he even sold players who did not get along with him. Its my feeling that if the board does not back Arsene in the tranfer Market and the adjustment to our wage structure then both of them would leave the club. Imagine what losing Van Persie would do to the spirit of Arsene and the fans.

For me , van is waiting to see where the board’s loyalty lies, whether its in their pockets or to the future stability of this club. Many of us were disillusioned by the sale of our past stars but Aresene asked us to keep faith and we did, but I am not sure how we will react if we lose Robin and even worse If we lost Arsene in the summer

theres not much clubs who will pay a good sum and take him away.so in his age,he will definitely renew imo.but being in top 4 will be the priority than buying players ,trophies,or wages.how can ppl say hill wood is bad as some1 said above.its only bcos managers and d board hav resisted d urge 2 spend all these years that the club is independent.but i do agree that sometimes they overdo it(like wen a cb is badly needed, they ignore it).arsene wenger is a role model when it comes to handling money.you only hav 2 luk at mourinho to know how much tempted a manager is to spend when u hav big bucks under ur doorstep …

Actually, I beg to differ as I wouldn’t mind RVP being sold to the highest bidder! He’s at his peak now & with us! After this year it will be downhill for him with more injuries to his ageing body. Sell a dud to another team, use the money & half the wages he’ll be on to get a younger & even better replacement like Goetze or Eden Hazardot will make both good footballing & economic sense!

Robin Van Persie will stay with the Arsenal and become a legend like his hero Dennis Bergkamp. He is a very intelligent young man who knows what he wants and were he is most appreciated. I am convinced he will stay with the club he loves and become the legend he has always wished to be. I would not be surprised if in the future, he will become a part of the staff at Arsenal and help the club on to even more glory.(Key patriotic music)

And Mr. Deadwood also said that Barca agreed not to pinch Fabregas and what happened next was…

Besides Rosicky, Denilson, Squilacci, Almunia, Fabianski, Vito Manone, Bendtner, Chamakh, Diabky and Gibbs, this guy is also a deadwood that I will really love to offload.

The Jan transfer window will make or break RvP signing a new contract. Signing a player like Gotze would do the trick and probably help us attain some silverware too. I believe they call it hitting two birds with one stone.

I know that RVP won’t leave Arsenal cause he’s not that player who wants to win trophies with big clubs like Barca but not on there own.But van persie one day will lift trophies for Arsenal & the Gunner’s fans.
And I Love RVP’s volley goals.
