Hleb – I regret leaving Arsenal!

Hleb regrets leaving Arsenal
The ex-Arsenal midfielder Aleksandr Hleb has spoken out about his nightmare move to Barcelona last summer after he forced Arsene Wenger to sell him.
He spent most of his time warming the bench at the Camp Nou as his team went on to win La Liga and the Champions League, and he now knows that it was a terrible decision.
Hleb said: “I regret leaving Arsenal. I was playing every week for one of the most exciting sides in Europe.
“I was being guided by one of the best coaches in the world and I owe Arsene Wenger a great deal. A footballer only truly exists when he takes to the field and makes a proper contribution to the team.
“But at Barcelona the season was spent with me almost entirely on the bench. I just couldn’t continue with them.
“I was part of the squad that was almost unstoppable but it was hard not to feel detached from all the happiness and celebration at the end of last season.
“I could have gone to Inter Milan on loan but I turned down Jose Mourinho to go back to my old club Stuttgart, where I was always very happy.”
Hleb will be back in London this week as he will play for Belarus against England in the final World Cup Qualifier.
Didn’t he leave because he didn’t like the weather in London? I bet it was a lot warmer while he was on the pitch for Arsenal rather than sitting on the Barcelona bench!

This is old news dude,he said he wanted to eat ice-cream.
Good riddance,Arshavin and Nasri over him anyday.
Fair play to him coming out and saying he made a mistake, he was a good player for us and I would have him back without question
I bet adebayor and toure wouldnt come out saying this….
Flamini that son of a ***** would also not come out saying this..
hope he gives advice to cesc and others”IF U LEAVE ARSENAL YOU’RE NEVER THE SAME PLAYER”
HLeb your regret of leaving arsenal, is an advice to those who are still playing for arsenal and they are intending to leave next season; should stay.Otherwise they will be like you.
Fair enough, at least he has balls to come out and tell the world of his mistake so younger generation dont repeat the same. He spoilt our plans as he was pivotal in the system that was developed. We are over it now and a new one seem to have taken root. Players after him like nassri and Ashavin are getting better.
Well, I like his boldness, it is only feeling this way that will make one not to make the same mistake. Hleb WAS MADE a good player no doubt, he just have to pick himself up and continue. Adebayor should watchout , I think some players are just ungrateful . Arsen wenger still remain the best.
”I was being guided by one of the best coaches in the world and I owe Arsene Wenger a great deal”
How? by leaving as soon as a bigger club comes in. they all the same.
Hey damn_gallas, just curious but why did u choose the name “damn_gallas”? R u rily damning gallas or wot?
i love the comment made by hleb, but how would you pay him back after leaving.hmm milliondollar question
Cut the guy some slack. He couldnt settle into life in london. What to do?
Yes, he wasnt happy in london, he wasnt happy in barcelona.
During his last season at Arsenal, he was one of my favourite players on the pitch, with his inch perfect passing, absolutely amazing close ball control (Could have scored more goals though)and amazing relationship with Rosicky, Fabregas and Flamini gave us the most fantastic midfield! He lit up the premier league, and was a huge player for Arsenal in his final season.
Shame he left, but we bought Nasri and Arshavin…
I wont bear any grudges against the guy myself.
My personal opinion as an Arsenal-fan.. Hleb is a talented and intelligent player and in my book he´s always welcome back..
Its just up to Wengèr now..
