Hotshot striker confirms he has signed a pre-contract with Arsenal
There are an avalanche of Arsenal transfer rumours around saying that the Gunners have already signed a pre-contract with the Belgian giants Anderlecht to ensure that their pursuit of the Argentinian striker Matias Suarez cannot be hijacked before the summer transfer window.
A respected Argentinian football journalist Javier Perez has announced via his twitter account that the deal has been done. He said about Suearez: “The deal will not be officially announced until later on in the season, as there are still a few bits and pieces that need to be ironed out.
“Arsenal wanted him to move during the January transfer window, but will be happy to have reached a compromise that sees them securing a player they have admired and watched many times last year.”
Perez finally actually spoke to the player himself, who “also confirmed to us that he has signed a not so “secret” pre contract with Arsenal for the summer.”
It was reported last month that Arsenal scouts had watched Suarez playing in the Europa League for Anderlecht, and it seems that Anderlecht want to to stay until the end of the season to help them progess as far as possible in the minor European competition, but have happily agreed to accept a pre-contract ahead of a summer move.
Perez further says about this contract: He has also had discussions with Galatasaray, And Marseille, but money was never his main incentive. He, in fact said, that if money was an issue the Galatasaray offer was much better than the gunners’ one.
This pre contract favours Arsenal in many ways.
A) They have secured a player that they wanted
B) The Gunners have the right to not take up the contract if the player either gets injured or has a dip in form to an unsatisfactory level
C) There are no clauses or rights for Anderlecht and the player to change their minds. So for example if Matias has an even better second half to the season, they can not ask for more money or higher salary or sell him to another club.
D) Plenty of time to apply for a work permit, however they are confident to get one through a panel.
Well that all seems very thorough, and it looks like (unless something drastic happens between now and the summer) that Matias Suarez is definitely going to be coming to Arsenal.

This is great news, though having been disappointed sooooooo many times in the past, I’ll wait ’til I see The Money, or in this case, Suarez’s arrival, through OUR front door. Finally, I have finally woken up and now accept, that Henry actually did score THAT goal, which made my week. Fantastic to have him back.

Well it’s a good start if its true. Now we just need Podolski to replace Vela and Kalou to replace Bendtner and we’ll be sorted. RVP, Podolski, Suarez and Kalou fighting for places in the attack would be quality.

Hardly a prolific goal scorer. 25 goals in 3 years in a league which is way inferior to the premiership. We need top quality and for that you may have to pay more. Wenger should be pulling out all the stops to get Podolski/Remy/Pato and Gotze so we can atleast try and compete for a title rather than settling for just trying to qualify for the Champions league. A signing like this shows no ambition, just a tight wallet. I think he would be a good replacement for Arshavin but that means we still need a second striker.

And to top it off Spurs are just getting stronger, their midfield is really strong and their forward line on the whole is better than ours. Sad times. We also need top quality signings to convince RVP to stay. He needs to see that we are atleast in with a fighting chance of a title otherwise he’ll be off.

Hmm not so sure about this one. Wengers signings of late have been questionable at best. AOC, Santos, Gervinho, Coquelin, are the only decent ones. The rest are all mediocre players. I just hope we are not getting another Chamakh. The Kalou deal sounds pretty good, at least his stats are decent and he has had extensive PL experience.
For the price of two or 3 mediocre players, which we already have enough of to make a full squad, why not sign quality like Gotze? At least a player like him will have an immediate impact and also reassure players like RvP that Wenger means business and extend his contract. There is a saying in my country – Goedkoop is duurkoop. Meaning ‘You get what you paid for.’

Great signin.Arsene is a fantastic manager u could see he wants the fans to share glory of success,he wants trophy to keep his stars.Am glad he re-signed thierry.Henry will add much experience to our team,who knows he can even hand us a trophy.We dnt need expensive players but any experience signin is good.please fans shld not worry abt Robin extention of his contract now.He luvs Arsenal so much….am confident he will sign wen we progress in spirit.poldoski will join us in summer.Arsene want to improve our team to convince RVP stay.I see trophy in emirate dis season.watch out.Lets keep fightin.I luv u Arsenal.

He is a rather good player but his poor goal per game ratio might be a problem. He cant really be considered as a true striker which I feel Arsenal need in the long run.

Wenger knows how to transform players buying an expensive player doesn’t always guaranty performance….players like Henry, rvp, viera, and many more they weren’t as popular prior but Mr wenger transformed them in to legends. I am pretty sure wenger knows what he is doing.

Anyone Arsene Wenger signs no or in the summer has my backing. I remember asking myself and other gunners around me who the f**k is Viera we are going to sign for 4 million a huge amount at the time. only to b shown he was one of our greatest captains n players of all time. Have faith fellow gunners the proof know exactly what he’s doing, and mark my words this season will be more silverware endored then anyone has confidence of but trust in arsenal that silverware is in our future…
