“In four years Ramsey will be best in Europe”
The Wales U21 boss Brian Flynn is certain that Aaron Ramsey has the mental strength to shrug off his injury, and will return from his broken leg as an even better player.
“Don’t have any doubts about Aaron returning from this,” said Flynn. “He will… and as an even better player.
“Aaron remains a very, very special footballing talent. I’ve made the comparison with Gerrard and I stand by that.
“In fact, I will go even further and say that Aaron will become the best midfielder of his kind in Europe by the time he is 23.
“He’s 19 at the moment, so we’re only talking four years away. But Aaron has everything, the whole package as a modern-day midfielder.
“Of course what happened at Stoke last weekend was a setback. But it’s a temporary one.
“Aaron has the mental strength to come back as an even better player.
“If anything, the injury will have shown Aaron you can never take football for granted and he will work even harder, once he is fit again, to carry on the strides he has already made.
“The other great thing for Aaron, as such, is that he is at a club where he will receive the very best medical care.
“Arsenal have been through it before with Eduardo and they know what will be required to get Aaron back to full fitness.”
It is hard to think of such a respected player being only 19 years-old, so Flynn is right that he has more than enough time to get over. Arsenal.com reported last night that Ramsey had received over 56,000 messages from well-wishers. With all this support Aaron is bound to remain in good sprits.
