Arsenal have some good injury news for a change
There have been conflicting reports over the last few days regarding Arsenal’s central defender Thomas Vermaelen, but the Belgian international has reassured fans that all is well and he is making a good progress.
Last week Arsene Wenger reported that Vermaelen would be out for longer than expected, and on Friday he said, “It will be a fraction longer than expected. He will not be straight back after the international break. It will be one or two weeks later.”
Vermaelen, 25, took to his twitter account the very same day and tweeted, “Unlike what I am reading in several media today, I do not have a setback at all! On the contrary, I am exactly on track for a full recovery!”

Yesterday the 6ft defender was busy tweeting again and his latest entry reads, “Great step forward today. First run outside without any pain or discomfort. Hopefully I can make good progress this week.”
At last some good news to report on the injury front. It may only be a small crumb of comfort, in what are testing times for Gunners fans, but it is good news none the less and we need as much of that as we can get at the moment.

He should take it easy and come back good and strong.

Change is needed at Arsenal.
Usmanov and Dein MUST come in for the sake of the football club. We allowed our best players to leave and once again do not replace them with equal or better players, which we had to do to improve as a team. What I can make of this now is that we do not have a great team anymore but in turn we do not have a bad one. IF we bring in Usmanov and Dein the players will get a major boost which is so desperately needed at the club, then we can add quality as we go.
I would also like to add that I am seriously confused with most of our signings made, and the way that everything was left until the last minute was pathetic. (Man U).

@ mark i no right y did we buy park if we were loosing 2-1 y didnt we bring him on hes in amazing form and y didnt we bring santos on yes hes not the best defender but he is really fast and got a great shot

Mark, while I broadly agree with what you say, I think we have to be careful that Usmanov with overload doesn’t turn out to be a “sugar daddy” à la Chelsea or Man Citey. I certainly think though, he should have a place at the top table and that Arsenal would be better served by having Dein in the hierarchy.

i think santos is able to cover rb though correct me if im wrong would be happy to have kosh there though. tv5 is not a crumb of comfort he is a whole loaf ! will be a massive boost to get him back however its diaby we really need back, by far the most experienced cm left at the club!
Diaby is the best player left at the club, a genuine box to box midfielder that adds a lot defensively and going forward, this lad can command and control an entire game on his own and if he can just stay fit and keep his cool he can change everything for us. shezeney, tv5, diaby, and vp is a fantastic spine to a team and more than capable of pushing for a top 4 spot just gotta get them 4 playing every week !
Ps i no im the only one that believes in diaby but on the rare occasions hes fit and on form there is no one better in the epl!

You are the only other person I’ve heard praise Diaby this way. Confession: the only Arsenal jersey that I own with a player’s name on it is Diaby. He’s fantastic when he’s fit; real workhorse.

I have never heard of Arsenal players making speedy recovery from injuries like other clubs, is it their medical personnel who are incompetent or our players are too soft?

@toby, thank God there are still realistic fans like you out there who knows the solution to some of our simple problems. Diaby will offer our midfield strenght and physical presence and confidence on the ball that ramsey can’t offer, again he wants the ball more like Fab4 unlike ramsey who makes duress passes anytime he is being marked, diaby can work his way out of any defender with his dribbling and can attract opponent to himself making room for other team mates to be without a marker.

just a thought aswell ramsey suffered a horrific injury that could well of ended his career and as weve seen with eduardo, rosicky, and diaby it can take a long time to recover, even more so mentally than physically. rambo looks a little bit lost at the momment and hes gna need all our support and patience to come good.
like i said it was a horrific injury and i for one when i sore it thought hed be lucky to ever walk again so please support him through this, hes certain to still be carrying mental scars!

@toby i said many times the ramsey before the leg break isnt the ramsey we see now , back then he played just like wilshere now does with pace quick feet excellent passing he had a winnermentality in him back then there were starplayers in the midfield and he showed his amazing potential almost every week . eduardo never came back ramsey is not the same it really is a shame that there are players that are so narrow minded !

I agree with every one who has placed Arsenal’s predicament on the door steps of Arsene Wenger. A good manager should build a squad involved in so many competitions with alternative players knowing fully well that there will be injuries, suspensions, ill health, etc so that the squad is always strong irrespective of all these set backs. We have not done this at Arsenal. We have a big squad consisting of players who rarely play. That is not the mark of good management.It is high time Wenger did away with unproductive players, looked at the areas of weaknesses in the team and fortified the team with quality players, evolved a dynamic pattern of play and did all the needful to bring the team back to reckoning.

yeah agreed..diaby is good..reminds me with veira,jst see the match that gooner led 4-0 against newcastle..wen he received the red card n went off gooner wen so baad..he has creativity with hes long feet..yeah he is injury prone..bt i blieve he n tv5 will back fit and strong..try play either one of santos or gibss to the right back..than jenkinson..jst play em on carling cup and fa cup perhaps?? shud b lining up lyk this when the both tv5 n diaby back..will b even stronger..kos back..so left with sagna,wilshere n the injury list????so shud b lining like this;

Its got so bad that we have to turn helplessly to our average players a.k.a Diaby et al, for solutions that have always been well beyond them. That summarizes our season except something drastic is done. We need to advance well beyond the illusion that there lies within a solution to our current predicament.

I like what I saw in the earlier comments, it is about time to give credit where it is due. Diabi is one of the unsang heros at Arsenal. He is so skillful, no body takes the ball from his feet and his passes are deadly accurate. Sitting to sub Farbergas was not easy, so he did not get enough play time as he deserve. Sometimes I feel like the premier league officials do not call the fouls commited against Arsenal players, like the one Barton commited against Diaby that was a nasty foul but yet the official failed to wistle, Diabi had to react to the barbaric act after realizing Barton was not even get a warning from the official and Diaby got a red card for his reaction. I can’t wait to see him back on the pitch. Diaby, Song RVP and Resinscy could bring back the real Arsenal passes we are creving for. Vermalen and Mertes will solidify the back door, as mentioned earlier, Coquelen or Kischelny could play right back position.
