Is there anything for Arsenal fans to complain about anymore?
Chelsea 3 Arsenal 5 … Yesterday’s astounding win against the Blues was arguably Arsenal’s most impressive attacking performance since the defeat of Barcelona in February and, regardless of their opponents’ suspensions, apparent dip in form and Terry’s ‘turmoil’ behind the scenes, the Gunners justified Wenger’s optimism. Whether they will reach these heights every week or not, Wenger’s side proved that they can.
There will be some who find points to pick on. Mertesacker was at fault for two of the goals conceded and Santos one, whilst the latter and Djourou struggled at times –particularly in the first period – to halt wide attacks. Gervinho and Van Persie missed a good chance apiece and Szczęsny has even admitted himself that he should have been sent off for his rash challenge on Cole.
That, though, is it. There is no talk of Arsenal needing anymore firepower up-front, whilst the widemen – including the attacking aspects of Santos – showed confidence and a surprising ease at getting forward and into promising positions. The goalkeeping situation is solved, with the Szczęsny looking to be the club’s finest goalkeeper in years, and the fact that Arshavin, Vermaelen, Rosicky and Park were waiting on the bench proved just how many options Wenger has, particularly in attack – even without Wilshere.
With Van Persie in such a rich vein of form and becoming the Gunners’ main man in attack, would he want to throw his captaincy away to join just another big-spending side, where he wouldn’t be given the freedom and respect he is enjoying at the Emirates? It seems far less probable after yesterday’s game. Life at Arsenal is looking enviable again.
The only real problem Arsenal fans might have now is choosing their Man-of-the-Match!

Defence still needs work. chelseas back 4 has hardly changed and could have conceded 8goals so its down to the defensive line. look how bad terry was with a high line so its no surpise mertesacker would struggle at times. if we can continue to outscore our opponants like the old barca of 2004-2006 then we can do well this season

vermaelen will help settle our defence whoever he is partnered against. I however think a partnership with koscielny would be the best as kos has been immense and our most reliable defender. The only problem is right back with djourou, he needs to be replaced with jenkinson who has played quite well except for one dreadful game against man utd

Defence was poor first half but second they all played well especially kos. mert won enough headers to raise his rating and santos sh was class.
Mid was good. needed to hold possession more. arteta held the ball well and defended he plays more like xabi alonso than fab. ramsey clever going foward and so was gervinho but walcott changed the game.his goal was henry-esque. rvp clinical as usual.

the defense wasnt impressive last night, that being said, i’m very happy with the win.. santos is an attacking full back, n if he can be more patient with defending, and understand better when he needs to go forward, n when to defend, he would be a great player.. as for djorou, he needs to concentrate n perform like he did last season.. mert need to adapt quicker.. RVP has evolved into 1 of the most lethal striker in the world..n walcott played like a different player, making lovely passes.. hope he will keep it up.. the future is bright for arsenal

we need a win against marseille to clinch a spot in the round-of-16, and a win against man city in the carling cup would be superb. that said, if arsenal can keep playing as well as they have been in the league i’ll be very very happy

kocielny deserves and should be the one partnered with vermealen. they are both good in the air. and neither of them are SLOW. so we can play a high line with confidence.

our opponents in the league until dec 17(man shitty) are fairly easy; we should record wins. This will help us get back in the top 4. The morale boost would be excellent. Our defense is improving, remember that sagna and vermaelen were out for some time. Wilshere will buff up our midfield, ramsey is doing excellent at this time. I would bring in hazard/sneijder/goetze in the winter however

Mert is very good and not getting the credit he deserves at all. He must stay in the line up with Verm. Since he came to Arsenal things have changed greatly at the back. We see more of Kosh as a better player cos he is paired with a great player. I was here before the season when many were calling or his exit. Kosh was always good but last season he played most of the games with Djourou and Squil so he himself looked bad. They are still trying to communicate better and read each other better(understand) on that back line but one thing Mert has done brill is try to stabilize it. We are much better handling attacks than before, the guy is short on the speed side but he is big, however he is hardly passable and he clears anything within his reach when in the box. We also deal better with high balls now I mean the guy has changed the back line completely. As for the match vs Chealsea, DJ was broken down again and again and Mert ended up with the extra cover up and clean up and he looked bad. Remember Man U game, same thing Kos did trying to clean up around DJ but its impossible. With Jerkins he is solid cos Jerkins is at least playing his best position and so easy to compliment. We need mert to start every game this season if we need that backline solid!!!!

one striker if chamakh goes..n park wil left after two years..there wud b a lots of game..coquelin,frimpong stil developing..they would only play in carling cup n some of the game in first team..left with ramsey,wilshere,arteta..we need atleast one winger. .ine creative playmaker.. arshavin n benayoun is in 30′s..f we bring hazard it wil developed the likes of myaichi n chambo. huge boost to the club, gervinho,rvp,tv5 n evryone.. so vertonghen,samba/sakho,hazard, goetze/marko marin wud b a huge impact to our team..

We really need to improve Defence side than we are definately a strong team. Carling Cup is going to be a hard game with MAN C I am concerned if the defence side is not improved otherwise we are really great.
Scez should be more careful he is an excellent goal keeper but I have seen twice with some errors. Otherwise excellent goal keeper improved a lot. Mert need more confidence otherwise we have to give him sometime to settle in more.

Yes there are still complaints. The defense aside which you alluded to we do need more firepower. Aside form RVP who else would you bet on scoring yesterday? Could you see Santos or Theo scoring? Honestly? RVP is still important but too important. If he wasn’t there then who would have scored the other 3 goals – who COULD score a hat-trick at Stamford Bridge aside from him? Back in the day when Bergkamp, Freddie or Pires scored you weren’t surprised – you knew they had it in them but it’s far too much of an unknown right now because we bet on RVP and no one else to score. Maybe we’d take some good odds on Ramsey but even with his form now I doubt he’d score the same 20 goals Cesc did before.
We do need to help RVP so yes we still need another consistent scorer.

There is some stuff to complain about, but definitely less. My problem, and probably many other peoples problem is the transfer policy. If Wenger spends money on the right people, we will win the league next year and for years to come. We should get Eden Hazard and/or Mario Gotze. Also, people are complaining about us always conceding many goals, I think it is because of a need for the ability to rotate between a few Centre backs because if Vermealen is injured (as usual), and another centre back gets an injury we are in deep ****.
If we buy eden hazard or gotze and a centre back we then need to either buy both eden and mario or buy a striker if there is a good one on the market for when Van Persie is injured, or when he leaves or gets too old in the next couple of seasons. We will have to spend about £60mil-£80mil but we will be the best team in the league, especially in a few years when that whole team develops.

a creative goalscoring midfielder to add goals, we can buy in january or promote one of the youngsters(aneke and chamberlain). personally i prefer the second option as they already been training with the first team they only need few games to get used to premiership football.
coz i don’t really think arsene will spend that much money for eden hazard. he will probably go for cheaper option like montolivo.
as for striker, he still have to test park and afobe to see if we need to buy new one.

lmao on ur comment. We all know we got a lot to prove yet, defence is shaky but that kind of game it was last night. I would say better result than manure losing 6-1 to manshitty 
we lost against manure, yes, but look at the team we had, even ferguson didn’t enjoy like u did i guess!! i would suggest u go n write column of optimism of clubs u like rather than writing anti-arsenal. Accept the team as it is and believe in it. Against big spenders it will be very tough to win, simple as that.
Dont cry on here, no matter how Arsenal is, we love them and will keep loving this club.

i think you are asking too much as if we don’t know arsene wenger.
he wouldn’t buy both hazard and gotze at the same time. first of all they will cost alot of many and arsene will always have cheaper option. remember we still have wilshere on the sideline and we also have 5 games with smaller teams he will try to test our top youngsters and give them few minutes on the pitch. january is a long way and hazard and gotze might need time to settle, might also flop.
we have ryo,chamberlain,ozzyakup and aneke who are already training with the first team and are also youngsters like hazard/gotze.

now my complain,
clean up the club of under performers, they are not bad players but things didn’t work out for them at arsenal fc. because arsene consider them senior players he picks them ahead of everyone. thats why we have seen much of park chu young for example, chamakh is ahead of him.
here is my list: squillaci,diaby,arshavin,chamakh,rosicky and fabianski. some are better than others like arshavin did good last time but his next start could be business as usual. he cannot play 2 games a week. maybe just cameo role coming on as sub if he doesnt mind.
we already are behind in the league we cannot afford to drop points,we need top performance every game.
still wenger is not gonna do it but i had to say it.

Our defensive problem is Song,he always loses ball in dangerous areas,so don’t blame Mert,he doesn’t have proper cover by Song.Arteta is great,and our defense will be great when Wilshere starts to play together with Arteta in as CM.

Not a perfect performance but a gutsy one. Four goals in one half at the Bridge is something to be celebrated, especially after conceding at the end of the 2nd half. The whinging out there is almost sickening. Can people not enjoy one of the most exciting football games in recent memory? For a lot of people it would seem not.
We made Chelsea look silly in the second half, a Jekyll and Hyde performance if I’ve ever seen one, but a great game nonetheless. For the people who continue to spit on the team they supposedly support, just ease up for this one and enjoy it, it’s just a couple of days until the next game, or in your eyes: the next possible opportunity to moan anyway, we should all be happy that we came out on top.
The team showed so much heart to go out there and attack Chelsea into submission; and a special shout-out to the away fans who were just great throughout.

because lille didn’t have time to find replacement, do you believe that? if we negotiated early just like gervinho, lille would’ve found a replacement for him.
the truth is all these reports are smokescreen while we are talking them arsene wenger has someone cheap in mind.personally i don’t care as long as he does his job on the pitch.torres alone cost chelsea more than all our summer transfers. we prove again that pricetag doesn’t mata.

Kos should be partnered with Verm, but I’d feel better if Mert partnered Verm in the games against the likes of Blackburn and Stoke, where his height and physical strength are well served against the long balls, crossing and set pieces. Kos is much better adapted for the quicker sides. The sides that prefer the ball on the floor with plenty of passing, movement and through balls. Sides like Barca where his lack of height and strength aren’t found wanting as much as his anticipation is excellent. Verm is capable of both styles and it most probably a more influential leader on the pitch, without taking anything away from the other two. I’d still like to see another one or two, possibly three defensive signing in Jan. Another centre back or two and reliable cover for Sagna and perhaps for Santos too, but he is improving with every game. Massive step up from the Turkish league.

Wenger shud buy 2 more defenders in January so that we have more defensive option. Djorou was forced to play rightback and miserable at it. Mertesacker is slow and only suitable to play against teams with big and tall players who likes to play long balls and crosses straight into the penalty box like Stoke, Sunderland etc. NOT against technical teams and teams with speedy strikers and wingers like Chelsea, Spuds, Man Utd and Man City.

hey gunners……..i recently watched a match …..hamburg vs some german team….in tht game …..ws spellbound by the left winger’s play….namely GOKHAN TORE….hes jus 19 ! i srsly think he ll b a gud addition to our squad as he has pace,trickery nd his crosses r amazing ! he reminds me of arjen robben(also left footed) ! and under AW he cn develop into a world clz player ….

The one thing that really pleased me was the genuine celebration by the players WHO WANT TO PLAY. We have not seen that for a long time. Play as a team and you can beat anyone. That is Wengers message. That is all the fans want to see. Proper effort from ALL the players. Where are the Wenger out brigade?

I have not read anything from Adam Kemp and his cohorts for a while. ALL Wenger’s enemies should have a change of heart and support the team. Surely we are getting better. Man U. had their bad day and same to Chelsea but their fans are still keeping hope. Now Chelsea have dropped six points at a go with a 50 mill pound striker and other expensive players. This is a pointer to the fact that money alone doesnt play football. IN ARSENE WE TRUST.

Per say almost all Arsenal player are tecnically gifted compare to other teams in BPL but how much they use their ability is another thing. Technically gifted dont necessary win you a trophy that has been shown for the last 6 years. because there are other virtues as determination, eagerness, will to fight and etc that can make the different. Kids also wont win you a things in the men world.A Wise head will always supplement the team if necessary with 2-3 super quality world player.Changing a must by adding this quality player it a matter of want to be the best not satisfied with what you have.(eg Barca)
Presently every player got work as hard when defence or attack as a unit.
