Jack Wilshere ignores Wenger’s advice
Jack Wilshere has found himself the subject of Arsène Wenger’s latest clash with a national coach. Wenger has often complained about finding his players returning from international duty injured, Van Persie and Vermaelen being two examples. But the French manager has also found issue with his young players being selected for multiple national teams, often the U-21 side as well as the senior squad.
This is the down-side of having such precocious young players in his squad. In the past Wenger has warned that players such as Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere could suffer from burn-out from having to play too many games in a season.
But England U-21 coach Stuart Pearce has ignored calls from Wenger to leave Wilshere out of the the selection. It looks like he will pick the 19-year-old for the European Championship in Denmark this June.
But speaking in the Guardian Wilshere said he was happy to turn out for the U-21 team. He said: “This summer, if I’m selected, I’ll play for the Under-21s. It’s down to Arsène Wenger, Fabio Capello and Stuart Pearce, but I will never say no to my country”.
Pearce will also take Liverpool’s Andy Carroll to the tournament, another player that has already made his debut for the senior England squad. Stuart Pearce’s reasoning for bringing these players is that tournament experience with the U-21 squad will translate into success at the senior level.

It’s U21s…it’s about development…let another English youngster have your spot Jack and you put all your energy and focus into your club and the O21 national team…you’re just wasting energy with the U21s

So this is the Inexperience that Jack wilshere has, If he goes he will learn a painful lesson. Don’t hinder your development for U-21 the whole point in playing for country is representing the nation. The nation doesnt watch U-21 therefore how is that representing the nation. Play for the National squad and for arsenal, you are too good to be playing U-21 level! Good luck to you no matter what you choose though. Youre a great talent, future captain and good kid, Keep it going!
