Joe Cole signs a three-year deal with Arsenal!
Crazy as it may seem, the latest Arsenal transfer news is saying the Joe Cole has agreed a three-year deal with Arsenal, and it will be formalised in the next week or two, which means he will be an Arsenal player when he starts the World Cup campaign with England.
The London Metro has just headlined the story like this: Joe Cole could be on the verge of making a shock move from Chelsea to Arsenal on a free transfer after rumours emerged today he has signed a three-year contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Yesterday the Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said: “It looks to me that someone’s going to make a great free transfer,”
“I genuinely don’t know who that is, but I don’t think it’s going to be Tottenham.
“I’ve got a feeling – and I may be wrong – that he’s already agreed a deal with someone.
“I’m a big fan of Joe’s, and I would be interested if he didn’t stay at Chelsea, but the feedback we’ve had is that he might well have already done something.”
Now that could mean that he has re-signed for Chelsea, or already agreed to join another top four team, which could only mean Arsenal or Man Utd in reality, but the Metro is convinced that the move to Arsenal is already a done deal.
And how could they know that it was a three year contract without inside information? I can’t wait to find out if its true…….

ERM???1 free transfer, 100k a week is nothing, considering we got Chamakh on a free as well. We paid Gallas close to 90k a week and Fabregas is over 100k now. So IF we do sell Fabregas, his replacement won’t get up to 80k, good bit of business for an ENGLISH classy player. I applaud this at even 100k a week. Joe Cole can easily play in the middle and 3 year deal???? Good, Wilshere will be more than ready to take over from Joe

Arsene has previously identified defence as need. We are already very well stocked on attacking talent. Me thinks someone at the Metro is trying to make a name for themselves.

Didn’t sol leave spurs on a freebie and Arsenal paid him 100k a week? 100k a week for 3 years is approx. 15mil. that’s less than his transfer market value. It’s a great deal for a versatile player. If it’s true then AW has landed 2 great signings with experience and spent very little from his kitty so he can continue to spend on defensive players as planned. AW is smart enough not to miss a good opp and JC will still be worth a few mil. in 3 years to an italian or spanish club. Finger crossed this is true. Let’s be honest, fabregas probably will be sold for around 50mil. if barcelona really want him and then we can buy Yoan Gurcouff who has a better work rate than fabregas who tends to drift our the game at times.
AW will buy the defenders and he is the smartest EPL manager when it comes to sniffing out transfer deals..

Totally endorse this move and hope this happens. He is english, experiened and a winner and still 28. He provides a different outlet and depth to our usual stock. It might be the end of rosicky! I think we can do more business in free market especially if there is a DM cover available. Inter milan got pandev, lucio and to some extent eto on free. We should also wait for some bargains at Real Madrid. I guess momo diarra would be leaving!
After this we should concentrate on defenders and GK!

Although Joe Cole would be amazing, if Fabregas stays he might not be that needed. Although he plays arsenal-style football. We already have arshavin and nasri for the wings and persie might play the wing too, if Chamakh stays up front. We need Chielleni or Subotic and the team will be ace, and ofc Hazard wont hurt. joe cole would add to the debth in arsenal’s squad but however if fabregas is not sold to barcelona this season then joe cole will not get regular first team football and with the deal for yoann gorcouff almost finalised i really don’t see joe cole in the starting eleven if we get gourcuff and fabregas stays the midfield would be gourcuff,fabregas,song,nasri/arshavin/ so joe cole is left on the bench

next season certainly if not this one barcelona will surely have the 50mil that arsenal wants for fab so if arsenal are trophless this season the season after fabregas will surely leave for barcelona so AW could be preparing for dat buy getting j.cole on a free so that next season if fab leaves then AW will not have to look for a replacement in the transfer market or spend money to buy another player when he can use the opportunity and get j.cole free rather than spending money which we all no wenger does not like 2 do in arsene we trust!!!

Doubt it, this is a no brainer attempt at journalism, redknapp says a deal is done & not at spuds, it won’t be chelski so that leaves man u or the arsenal. A player of his quality and age isn’t looking to join a project he wants to win silver now, with fab likely to go I can’t honestly think we will be pushing for the title so it’s more likely he will go to man u or hook back up with Jose.
