Ju-Young Park’s chance at Arsenal finally coming
“It has been difficult because I have not given him the chance to play and the intensity of the challenges – some players take short, others take long. But it takes you time,” said manager Arsene Wenger ahead of the meeting with Wolves.
“The adaptation period for him is over now so he has to come in and show he has the quality to play for us,” said the manager.
“We lose Chamakh and Gervinho for January – two strikers. Maybe Chamakh has not played too many games, but he is still a security that we have. So Park has to step up.
“The problem we have first of all is that we have a big squad. To add players to our big squad, we will have to see how we can balance our books as well.”
Without reading too much into his “adaptation period”, Park Chu-Young is certainly ready for the big stage. While van Persie is firing most of the goals and on all cylinders for Arsenal, it is inevitable that van Persie will be rested. Park Chu-Young will therefore have his chances and if he can prove himself when he plays, he will only have more opportunities in future.
Having put in a good number of solid performances and goals for the South Korean national team, his ability is not in doubt and perhaps he can be a better option off the bench than Chamakh? Only time and his performances will tell. At last, the accomplished Korean striker can shine at club level.

why does he have to prove himself after just few games. if he can put up with chamakh and arshavin why not park?
all these players are ready to play but wenger has his own favourite players he selects ahead of them . jenkinson was a disaster then gradually he developed his game. but chamberlain and park have no chance because of his favourite lame ducks and he doesnt have the gut to drop them.

I think it is a joke… a sour joke!
Why buy a player to not play him untill the 2nd part of season … and to suffer as much as we have suffered this half of the season and continue to hold him back?
What on earth was wenger thinking? He got this guy when no one wanted him and them didn’t play him for half a year … what has he been waiting for? Is this some new type of experiment to ensure he does not burn out like chamakh ? what exactly is the master plan?
We all cried out for a striker and he once again buys a mostly unheard of player who then offers us nothing when we are being hammered in the league and left to trial to spurs!
Does wenger and the board think we are nothing but sheep to give them money to piss about with? Taken for fools!

Wenger got it wrong against Wolves today, Benayoun and Rosicky are similar. I don’t why Rosicky is in the team anyway, i don’t think we have won him when he started..prove me wrong! Chamberlain should have played instead, he knows no fear.
Also, he should play two strikers against lower teams in home games. This is common logic i can’t figure why Wenger is making the same mistake time and again. I’m nervous!

As long as we fail to capitalize on an early lead and really put teams to the sword 4th place is all we can hope for. When all the teams ahead of you drop points you have to win! We really needed to win today and the subs Arsene selected made sure we didn’t win. Arshavin needs to go to the “Russian Cup of Not Good Enough to play for Arsenal” and not come back.
Buy Podolski and play RVP and Podolski both in a 4-4-2 and we win. It’s that easy.

Rosicky and benayoun is playing quite well yesterday. It is their fast move that bring our early goal. I think the worst player is Song.Sloppy passing + to emotional, rather than playing at his usual role. Moreover both our left and back flank are still awkward.

Are you kidding me, what you mean nobody wanted park ? his former club wanted to keep him but they get relegated end of the season. Lille, current L1 champion, was signing him, he even went on the medical visit and caught a train for london. That move will probably cost us Hazard by the way. But I guess if I was Wenger and needed to off load chamak and arshavin, i would make them play as they do, so potential buyers can value them. That s what you do when you want to seel someone, you put him on a pitch for the last 20 minuts, if he does a miracle, his value makes more sense, if not, you have no problem of making a bargain out of him. The only place you would not do that so much is in the back 4 where mistakes can be more costy than upfront. ! And I believe park had to settle in the team and in the way the team plays, which quite differents from what is france. The pace is far higher and less contact breaking game is played en EPL than in France, so i guess it was the right period of time to build up his stamina. And anyway who are we to say Wenger is wrong !!!

This latest draw may in fact be a blessing in disguise for the team, and also for Arsenal’s campaign… as really, this should be the catalyst for a mild squad turnover in Jan, in order to bring in the quality required of a title winning premiership team… in a nutshell, we simply need top class players who are able to do the business by scoring the vital goals, helping to win the ball in midfield, or break a deadlock… on the defensive side of things, i believe that we currently have the quality, just not the numbers… so perhaps a recalling Bartley, or a loan deal would suffice for that department… Arsene – work your magic in Jan pls!

What was Wenger thinking when he bought RVP for 2.75M seven years ago? You can’t criticise Park when he’s not had a chance. Wenger bought him for 3.5M. Park has a healthy strike record and he can score goals. Just time is needed on the pitch. We have 2 years with him so his transfer value is really nothing in terms cost. In Park we also have another Captain in the team which adds further experience. I think you really need to look at the positives over the negative.

Were you watching the same Wolves game? Rosicky was awesome. With him on the team, the ball flows through midfield a lot easier. He is a smarter player than Ramsey, more direct too. Rosicky had a great game as did Benayoun. Ramsey has been missing too many goal opportunities over the last few weeks. This is could cost us a 4th spot if it comes down to goal difference in May. I like Ramsey, but not his current form. ?he needs to work on his finishing and delivering that killer pass.
AOC will soon be used so don’t fret fellow Gunners. The EPL games hold more importance and Wenger looks to have decided that he’ll release the OX soon, but I highly doubt in an EPL game. We’ll probably see him in the Leeds game in Jan. Remember he looks great but can he hold that focus for 90mins? That’s a decision for the Manager to decide, so quit complaining about who should be used, let Wenger do his job and support your team. That includes even supporting players that you don’t like. Stay true to the cause!

Word S.H. My thoughts exactly. Although I do think having yossi and Rosicky on left us lacking a true wing on the right (I would’ve liked to see Ox at half for either yossi or Rosicky even though both were playing well.) Ox can score for himself and so can yossi and gerv if he keeps improving his finishing. Rosicky’s finishing is on the same level as ramsey’s, poor. TR7 did play some very good passes though. I can’t wait for QPR already

Sell Sell Sell then buy. @arsen… you should sell chamakh, rosinsky or whatever his name is, arshavin. why get benayoun? his career is done, this is not the MLS. he should get metersaker to persuade his country man padolski to come to the EPL, then buy gotze with the money you get from selling arshavin, chamakh and rocinsky. that’s how you manage a team arsene!!

if we don’t qualify for the champions league just bare in mind where still in it this year and other teams are not, but be that as it may I know this is very important to wenger, not that he would ever come out and admit that’d. Just hope his not thinking!’ I will go in to the transfer market if we don’t qualify for the champion’s league next year’. I think it will be too late by then, what I mean by that statement is it’s a new decline for us and more and likely open up the flood gates to a whole new set of problems and that time decide to’ skedaddle!!

Rosicky is to blame for the Wolves goal, he could have blocked the shot easily but he was scared and chose to turn his back rather than charge. He tries to be clever with his sharp turns but is futile. Prove me wrong, we never won when Rosicky started!

There is some real positves here Park is gonna be so healthy I think is gonna have a good run till the end of the season and the biggest thing to he is one hell of a weapon as well other team are not gonna know how to mark em where as they know how to mark Rvp,,,, there is one thing also his had time to learn the way we play to a good level his the man for goals when he plays for his country sorry for putting like this but im sure arsenal is better than his country team,,,,,, this man is gonna shock I think what Aw was right not playing till 2nd half of season his learn are ways now its time for him to shine,,,,, PARK 15 goals and few assis by time season ends thats what I think..

I think Park is a good player but with an unproven record in the EPL. Wenger can’t afford to lose points and therefore tries to play with his best players. You might see him play in the coming FA cup.
