Just how far can Jack Wilshere go with Arsenal?

Posted on December 08, 2011 by admin

Whether Jack Wilshere will be a great player in future is not even a question anymore. The 19 year old is already a regular England international and the world of football is yet to see the best of him.

Jack has been at Arsenal since the tender age of 9. He has been polished to be a footballing gem brighter than many others under the great youth system of Arsenal. Known for his dribbling ability, vision and passing, Jack plays a deep central role for Arsenal where he is responsible for darting runs and incisive passes for the team.

His time in the Arsenal youth team was one that was relatively smooth sailing. With Jack’s amazing talent, he impressed Arsene Wenger immediately and he earned himself a spot in the first team. Due to lack of first team football, he was loaned to Bolton Wanderers to get some much needed premier league playing experience for him to really shine. He fulfilled the expectations. Jack’s time at Bolton was so impressive that Owen Coyle (Manager of Bolton) wanted extend Jack’s loan spell only to be rejected by Arsene, who wanted Jack back on the team.

His first full season at Arsenal was nothing short of amazing where he managed a massive 49 appearences. He was voted Arsenal player of the season due to his contributions and he also became the PFA young player of the year. An elusive spot in the PFA team of the year was also given to Wilshere in testimony to his remarkable season.

Wilshere was recently dealt with an injury blow and will only return in the New Year but his return to the team would be a massive boost at a crusial time of the year. Hopefully Wenger would see the brilliance and greatness in this player and persuade the board to keep him at Arsenal for years with an excellent long term contract. Will ‘Our Jack’ become both an Arsenal legend as well as an English legend?

Jack is as important as Fabregas was. A ready made replacement, a fan favourite. It’s hard to imagine he is only 19, but everyone was saying that when fabregas was 19.

What we can take comfort from is he won’t be running off to Barcelona!

Get better soon! We will need you in the Champions League!

i wish a get well soon.
the question is that is not that jack dont want to stay at arsenal , but how much do we try to keep him and whats his value at the club.
at the moment as a tenager maybe he is ok with the money he is taking but when his ambitions go sky high by right he will demand more.
he want to win trophies, so his abelities wont go missing but rocognised.
i am sorry to say but with our directing board and money graber they will seel him for the higher bid and try to develop an other legend for less and sell him again.
they dont care for the club but just their pocket. they have a stone for a heart and always keep an eye into their finances(rather fat ones)
coming back to jack he is wow wow wow. i hope he is been treated with what he deserves. arsenal for ever

    @ goonerbeall

You seem to be using International football as a tool to decide on whether or not a player merits accolades.

Let me remind you England have not won a trophy since 1966.

Also perhaps we could compare Goetze and Wilshere…..

As for Italy, there are very few young players who I know of who are creating the kind of stir as Hazard, Goetze, and Wilshere.

Perhaps on mainland Europe that is how you decide whether or not a player merits this kind of praise, if in England we did also, it would mean no player from 1966 onwards was any good……that is ridiculous.

You don’t know what your talking about, and obviously don’t support Arsenal, because no Arsenal fan would doubt or question the abilities and qualities Wilshere has shown at club level and international level at the age of just 19.

  16. S.H says:

If Wilshere and Diaby were fit, we could afford to loan out Frimpong and Coquelin at the same time, which would be great preparation for season 2012-2013.

Let’s hope the boy doesn’t come back too early and have another setback like Diaby so often unluckily does. Don’t put too much pressure on him coming back and expecting he’ll play the same as last year. It’ll take a few games and time to get the body reacting to the brain like it used to. Rosicky a fine example of this.

Regardless, I miss watching him play as 99% of Arsenal fans would. Let’s hope when he comes back the successful dynamics of the team doesn’t change.
