Juventus tracking Theo Walcott?
The Arsenal transfer rumours are coming thick and fast as the transfer window approaches, and some are more believable than others. The Metro today reckons that the Italian giants Juventus (who are on course to end up 7th in Serie A) are looking for a complete overhaul of the team, and Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is apparently one of their top targets.
It seems they have a VERY adventurous shopping list to revitalise the team (and they must have a LOT of money if they want all these big names) which consists of Walcott, Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko, Franck Ribery and Sergio Aguero.
Okay it seems they only intend to get two of those five, one as a main striker and one on the wing. Walcott is nominated as a winger apparently, although he has made it plain that he wants to be deployed down the middle at some point in the future.
I don’t know about you, but I get the feeling that Walcott is one of those loyal players that is unlikely to consider leaving Arsenal unless he is forced to by the club.
Can anyone see Theo leaving Arsenal in the near future?

I think we should sell him if this story is true. His only good ability is speed, he has nothing special other than speed, he is not strong, he have not good dribbling skills, not penetrating, it can not cross any side-back 1 to 1. He is totally opposed to Hulk. We need someone like Hulk!

Sell him and get Eden Hazard or swoop him for Giovincho if Juve is serious with the deal. Arsene Wenger killed Theo reflexes on the attack. He is a sharp striker, point man for real not a winger but AW converted him thinking everybody will be like Henry. Theo profile in Southampton scored 100 goals a season.why not in Arsenal.

We sould not sell Theo, why would we? and to say he has noting other than speed is bullshit, you nutter, his finishing is exceptional, convert him into a front man, stick him up top just beind RvP, his pace and finishing will see 20 – 25 goals a season, guarenteed.

It’d be stupid to let him go…and plus he loves Arsenal!
moreover Walcott is more dangerous whenever Fabregas is on the pitch cos Arsenal tend to release with him long balls and fabregas knows it better than anyone!

Overated but on balance keep him even though:
A. He is always injured
B. Only scores occasionally and rarely in the buf game
C. Has a habit of disapearing after 15 minutes
D. Wont run at the defense of Man U or Chelsea
E. Still cant cross — Sagna is our best crosser

@Tomas-Vermaelen
Agreed entirely. Apart from the odd success, I have been most disappointed with Walcott’s progress over the years. He has the speed but not much else and unless given bags of space (not often now) he contributes little on the ball.

@Ennyoller London
‘Walcott scored 100 goals/season at S’hampton’
‘AW killed him by putting him on the wing’
Walcott scored four goals in his only season with the first team. AW put him on the wing because we have better forwards in RVP.
Also Walcott is improving every year.
Last Year: 30 apps, 4 goals, 2 assissts
This Year: 36 apps, 12 goals, 11 assists. Imrovement.
Messi said that Walcott was one of the most dangerous players he has ever played against.
STILL WANT TO SELL HIM??

I won’t miss Walcott. Bye bye Theo. Winger is perhaps the easiest position to replace. He has pace but doesn’t use it effectively. If he beats opposition to the ball, the end product is lacking to the extent that a good cross is always seen as a fluke. He should have improved a lot by now, instead he’s stood still for 3 years now and spending much of that time being a sicknote.

Why the hell should we sell walcott to be honest Mr Wenger almost always fails to utilise him if anything the persistance to play him on the wing has hamperd him hugely. He was bought as a striker and ther are some that simlply cant be trained on the wings then move to a more central role. I know it worked with Henry but he is a different type of player. Now I’ll be the to admitt in terms of tricks Walcott’ cupboard is almost bare and as such needs to rely on his pace. so sticking him on the wing is fairly stupid, he only has one way to go to get to goal and that ultimatly makes him predictable,Thats why he often fades after 20 mins. It also has another problem, because of his speed it is hard for the team to support on occosions him quck enough and he deffinatly isnt the hold the ball type and he knows this, which causes him to panic when looking for opptions. play him more centraly however and it allow him to go either way. I think his finnishing is crisp enough. There is plenty of evedance to back the theory up and it highlights one of the main issues with the squad and thats too many players being played out of position and as a result no one knows quite what to do.

wow players are unloyal? how would it feel playing for a team when half the fans would admit to sell you even if they were just rumours

walcott has speed and finishing. if he is to be played as a second striker, he would improve a lot more in passing and would score more goals as well..look at his acceleration, who can really stop him other than hard-tackle him?
his crossing is real poor…but our clichy and sagna did nothing better.(though sagna is best crosser in team!)
so if AW change him to second striker, with nasri, fabregas and wilshere in midfield, RVP as main striker, i dare you this team can win any other team!!
final say: Don’t sell him, he is still so young!

Theo is a converted sprinter, very much a one trick pony. He is not a natural footballer and lacks instinctive awareness which is essential for a top line striker. He is ok as an impact player and do not see much improvement in him. Ashley Young and Wright-Phillips are better footballers but lack Theos pace. Keep him as a squad/impact player

i say sell walcott nasri RvP Vermaelen, Koscienly, Sagna, Wilshere and song then rebuild the squad. that should work a treat…
you people are crazy…people talk about loyalty and commitment from players and then the fans want every player sold…fools. Arsenal fans must be the biggest bunch of greedy, rich only child fans going around…get a grip on reality. THEO HAS BEEN GREAT AND IMPROVED IMMENSLEY! SHOW SOME FREAKING SUPPORT

Put walcott in the middle with RVP and we win. We need to change formation instead. Opposition knows how to counter our 433 we need to train new formation for next season.

Naaaahhhh! Walcott could be better in other leagues except ours! Seria A and the SPL give players space, that’s what Walcott needs, the EPL doesn’t allow players space and time to run with the ball, unless you are Ronaldo! Its the odd games I have seen walcott upfront but he’s finishing is good! Wenger doesn’t play him upfront cause he isn’t good in the air, he isn’t strong enough and definately can’t hold the ball! Look at Messi, Guadiola plays him on the wing cause of his height, but he can play upfront!

If you think that Sagna is the best crosser you have your eyes pointing at your anus. Sagna cant cross the road let alone a ball? He is shite. He is a full international and doesnt know what is right foot is for. Clichy is the same on the left side but guess what. They play coz they are French.
Walcott cannot cross either, like Sagna his only crosses are fluke and under pressure. When they both have time on the ball they put the crosses into row z…..hence no need to play Chamakh or Bendtner anymore.
The best crosser of the ball is mr lazy, Arshavin.
Crossing is not on AW training schedule

On the subject of crosses, I’m afraid it’s all too simple.
We do not appear YET to be able to defend them.
On the other hand, OUR crosses are a waste of time. On the rare occasions we cross, no-one bothers to be there to attempt advantage. But most of the time we have no-one capable of a decent cross.
NOTE: For coaches during pre-season training.

I believe Walcott should stay and we shouldn’t sell him, I still believe he will become a great striker once he gets the chance.
Do you guys remember a certain Thierry Henry?
He used to play on the wing at Juventus and was considered a flop, then Arsenal bought him and played him up front and looked what happened.
Walcott may not score as many as Henry did but he will score at least 20 goals a season if played up front.
Plus Henry wasn’t considered a world class player till he turned 25 maybe even 26 in most peoples eyes, so I believe Walcott will become great.
Also why are there so many fans on this web page that seem to hate Wenger?
All you guys that hate Wenger should look at the history and facts of the club, I bet most of the people that hate Wenger are kids too young to know what Arsenal were like before him.
We were a average club and Wenger has turned our club into a world class club that most teams are envious of.
Arsenal for life!

Well said gozua. With his speed Walcott would be great up front WITH A PARTNER. His frame is too small to play up front alone.
