Kieran Gibbs: I’ll be back in 10 days – and I could still go to the Euros
The Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs is close to recovering from his latest injury problem, and he is hoping to back in the squad in just ten days time, which would be just in time for the crucial game against Man United.
He feels that he is fully recovered but is now just waiting for some test results to be certain of his latest comeback. “I’ll be back after 10 days, if the scan outcome is positive,” he said. “I had another operation weeks ago, now everything is better.”
Gibbs was very hopeful of winning a place in Englands World Cup squad two years ago before another injury ruled him out of the running, and he is now keen to impress Fabio Capello once again ahead of this summer’s Euro2012 competition.
He said: “I try not to think too far ahead, I want to focus on getting back to full fitness.
“Hopefully if I have a good run of games until the end of the season then I may go, but I have been out for nearly three months now. So first I will focus on Arsenal and see what happens after that.”
Arsenal fans won’t be holding their breath on that one, but when you consider the injury problems that Robin Van Persie has had in the last five years, perhaps Gibbs could surprise us all as well…..

this is good news, just!!
although injury plagued a solid player when fit, not the finished article but atleast gibbs is a genuine fullback, we have looked really out of balance recently and hopefully gibbs can restore the flow back to the wide areas.
for how long though is any1s guess, almost like hes made of glass!
and what of diaby ?? we are never told when hes injured, why hes injured, or when hes due back? if wenger kept us informed it mite help us to have patience or understand, instead its always complete silience with diaby! and its pissing me off, his dissaperence can only be compaired to that of richard blackwood, its like they both have the back door key to the bermuda triangle!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though It will be really nice to have you back & about time too, hopefully with a long & (fruitful) run of games.
Perhaps AW knew that Kieran was close to being fit, so, kept those purse strings knotted tight, perhaps it wouldn’t hurt acquiring another utility lb, lwb on loan until the end of season incase Kieran contracts a new illness or Andre Santos eats him.

appreciate the link admin but as usual wenger is talking in riddeles about diaby. as fans we tollerate the injuries aslong as we know whats going on, diaby could be out for another 6 months and that mad abscured ramble from wenger could be the only words we ever get on the matter!
this was supposed to be diabys big season with fab and nas moving on, we so need him rite now! knobody digs diaby more than me im his biggest fan. when fit and on form our best player by a mile even above vp thats how much i rate him, but i have to say even my patience is wearing thin maybe it is time to let go coz i just cant take the dissapointment of it any longer.

Gibbs is another one of those ‘not yet convinced’ types. Maybe he has been injured so much, we haven’t really had a chance to see him at his best. Well, we are short in defense, so his return is good news. Although I think Miquel has a better future than Gibbs, at the moment Gibbs has way more experience under his belt. We will definitely need him against United. Perhaps play him one half against the swans, just to get him that pre xp before United, but take him off second half just to make sure we have him healthy and fit against Manure.

I really wonder about of medical department, it’s insane the amount of injuries we have every year. When you look at Barca they have small technical player such as Messi and Iniesta who are rarely injured yet we have so many injury prone players (gibbs, RVP, diaby, rosicky). It really does affect our title chances every year

Guys I’m sure Gibbs has had A sports hernia ( gilmores groin ) this is the same injury that kept Gerard and lampard out for months with re accurring strains .. I can’t see Gibbs playing an awful lot this season , I had the same surgery although I’m not a pro footy player it takes months to regain full fitness , you can’t rush back, trust me.. Wenger must sign a left back or we are gonna be left backless for sometime … I say buy cissoko .. 8 mill bargain ! Done .. Stop wasting time arsene!! man u next week!

Jjohn you just want to see arsenal sign someone, hernia only last 3 weeks and gibbs is a footballer he works with a fitness coach. they wouldn’t put him on the pitch if he still unfit.
this drums started with wayne bridge (past it) then taye taiwo(cuptied in the champions league and african cups) now is this cissokho dude. i mean good luck to your wish but arsenal fc seem to have players to deputise at left back till all our regulars are fit.
if miquel gets injured there is martin angha waiting and believe me me all of them kids can play football.
the positions we badly need to enforce is the weak arsenal attack and creative midfield position coz we really need a new cesc. we don’t need cissokho.

to be honest…i cant believe im sayin this but i would not mind if wenger left…i love the man as he has created many stars and brought together the invincibles team but to be honest i think the best is behind him. i dnt thnk getting rid of him would be the best option right now but i would not be too bothered if he left…he just doesnt cut the mustard for me…either that or the board need to rise the standerds required. love u arsene but im not sure u hav the same ambitions as u did before…sorry

its arrogance of starting games with lame ducks that make things difficult for the rest of the team.
you will think he’s gonna clear out and bring in new look team, nothing!
the board won’t stop him from getting rid of almunia,arshavin,squillaci, chamakh. then picking them to play important games. the boards backed him to buy miyaichi,park, chamberlain but why is he not playing them? not ready. isn’t that incompetence? 3 summer buys haven’t played. its either they are not good enough or the coach has gone totally stale he cannot make the right selection anymore, sackable offence!

Firstly Abidal on loan till the end of the season.he hv that xperience n winning mentalities such as henry to help the team.
Secondly, we cnt get any of podolski or ba on january.kalou for 3m is a steal.n perhaps suits us than chamakh.we’re playing fast football.sory no offence to chamakh supporters.he is a quality player bt ddnt suits into us.myb a team like stoke or playing more croses wil help him.kalou for 3m is good.he wud jump to learn from henry which is hes idol.
Then third one creative playmaker.mychoice wud b erikson(ajax) jst watched him play. him with wilshere wud b awesome. arteta cn b cover for song n wilshere cn replace or rotate with them.there is mny fixtures. ramsey cn developed too with erikson.he is a type of player we need.

Guys we all had patience for Jan maybe AW would buy great players to win us anything this season but do u c what is happening nw??he wants Cheap cheap cheap and leftovers like Bridge and Kalou,honestly i will not be very mad if Utd beat us agn coz it may wake up AW just like last Transfer Window. Pleasee wenger buy us great playerss we all know it will be a miracle for u to buy the likes of Gotze and Hazard but u can afford such as Ba,Pdolski,Remy and alot more,and get rid of players who dont want to play for us

It is all going overboard …. isn’t it guys… with our reaction… Let Gibbs and other urgent come back… let the team and club show character … by playing players outside their comfortable zone… rather than reacting like pussies(read $hitty) and reacting stupidly with money. I know we have not been investing well for last few seasons…that does make us go stupid with transfers does it… recall Flamini??… i remember that bugger of playing brilliantly in same position(LB) … and we went to Champ league final didn’t we…..

This kid needs a special diet plan. Santos is a much more dangerous player and adds another dimension to the Arsenal team. Gibbs is just another number
