Kieran Gibbs is exactly what Arsenal need right now
Arsenal have definitely missed Kieran Gibbs. He isn’t Arsenal’s best Left-Back, personally I believe Santos is, but what a refreshing idea to actually have a LB in the LB position! However there are still some problems with the guy that needs to be sorted out…
Gibbs has a lot of potential. Wenger wouldn’t have him in the team if he didn’t. However, all these injuries have stunted his development at least a year. He is a young player and can catch that up but you do wonder if he is injury prone. I haven’t see him play a string of matches in an Arsenal shirt and I anxiously await the day he does. It’s not all doom and gloom, we all thought that Van Persie was injury prone too but this past season and a half, he has continuously played and he has proved beyond doubt that he is one of the best players in the world! For all injured players, there’s hope now…..
Gibbs is quality attacking wise, he has great attacking instinct. However, he, like some others, is suspect when defending. If you took a bird’s eye view of the pitch he plays on and average his position for the match, he would most likely be out on the wing attacking rather than defending. That’s fine when you play the passing game but it’s still a worry that he plays that far up. It almost makes it a liability. He does need to fix that part of his game up. I do feel that will come with age and experience.
Finally, with his return, Arsenal fans can finally see the centre-back partnership of Koscielny and Vermaelan return at last. In my opinion, they both are similar players and top quality CBs. They are definitely a partnership we will need against the likes of Milan, Tottenham and even Liverpool in the upcoming month. It will benefit us greatly and we could really push for the Top Four place we deserve.

i remember , once wenger said arsenal should make profit of 20 million each year….but this board morons have forgotten that if we don’t make to champion league…we (i mean “they” )would loose top players and 30 million revenue……

Very true about rvp giving hope to all injury prone players! I remember people saying rvp should have been sold during the worst of his long term injury spell and now we cudnt dream of not having him!

great news! can finaly have a solid back four in their prefered positions…., i would love to see santos return because IMO he is better than gibbs but still good news……plus dnt worry about the RVP story of going to real cus its fake (made up quotes) although sadly i could see him playing for barcelona…i believe he has the faith to stay with us though…..robin is loyal to the club and a great skipper…….. PLEAAAAS STAY ROBIN WE NEED YOU!!!

Gibbs being back healthy in the first team can only mean good things. I hope he can last the rest of the season without injury and we can have a back 4 of players in their proper positions for the run to the top 4. Let TV5, Kos and BFG fight it out on who’s best form for the CB spots. When Santos is back he can only push GIbbs to play better and learn more.
Lets hope Rosicky keeps improving and pushing Rambo to play better if he wants a spot. Arteta is solid and Song can keep turning out performances like he did against Blackburn.

Yeah, can’t wait to see Gibbs tucked in next to Verm, whispering in his ear, he has the qualities to be another cashley or Gael ( bar setback) & perhaps make that position his for a long time.

Gibbs started his career as an AMC or Left Wing and now being deputed as a full back. Hope he’ll tough himself up.

Gibbs is a good player and personally i feel he is better than santos, just simply because santos cannot defend as well as Gibbs, Arsene Wenger even said he has to improve on his defending. It seems there is some light for Arsenal, A solid back 4 is possible for once… Gibbs….Verminator…Kos…Sagna…. very exciting

szczeny, sagna, tv5, kos, gibbs: arteta, song, ramsey: walcott, rvp, ox…..thats team over the next few weeks will give us a huge chance. gervinho returns soon then maybe walcott can play up front. i think we’l beat sunderland 2-1 and 1-0 and beat ac milan 3-0.

Like with all players returning from lengthy injuries it`s hard to know what to expect of Gibbs if he`s included at Sunderland. Ususally I prefer to see them re introduced at a home game for the last third.
To change the subject for a minute. Has anyone else noticed that there`s been a drop off in quality of blogs on the The Arsenal News website (Just Arsenal not included). The new ones seem to rely more on guess work than research and ask more questions than give answers.

Wellcome Gibbs, it will tahe time to be 90% fit. History wise in this season we have incured more goals ex left back than other position. Let the truth come out, we are expecting the gup to be closed by Gibbs. Avoid much overlapping in your first two games. You had been a threat to Clichy till he opted to leave hence prove to him that you can make it. Ask Ox to be helping you to be able to sastain cliching Champions league. Man Wenger needs your support to demolish Black cat, treat Laursen properly he is the threat man in Sunderland.
