Koscielny promises improvement this season
Laurent Koscielny had an up-and-down first year at Arsenal with the lowest time coming when he had a mix-up with Wojciech Szczesny which led to Birmingham’s winning goal in the Carling Cup Final.
That single moment has been blamed for Arsenal’s complete decline afterwards, which saw them crash out of every competition. But the young Frenchman believes that this season will see a great improvement.
He said: “I feel different to last season because I was a new player then,”
“It was different but now I know other players, I know everybody so I feel better this year and I am more comfortable with the language and everything.
“I got better as I played games last season. I played more than 40 games and for a new player that is good news. Now I want to be more regular in the new season and more determined when the games are difficult.”
I think the whole team needs to be more determined Laurent, but the defence is definitely the priority. Does anyone think that Wenger is really going to buy another centre-back now that Thomas Vermaelen is fit again?

good buy last season, great displays and with tv5 back thats great news as wenger would say he’s like a new signing. shud buy cahill or mertsacker and play thomas on the left, done!

Tommy, we have just bought a youth RB – Jenkinson. Eboue is the 2nd choice RB.
I only see Wenger buying another CB if he sells Squillaci or he loans out both Bartley and Miquel, which is the greater probability.

If he learns to jump, tackle and head a ball he might have a chance but I wasn’t impressed last season worse than Senderos in my opinion.

first, i really want to express my happiness,here by saying its really good to hear from Laurent after quite a long time.Its so nice that we have him back because from my own opinion he was one of our top performing players by the time the season lashed down.
However i urge Mr Arsenal i.e Arsene Wenger to wrap up a move for a good center back otherwise the unending story will be told for the seventh year

Wenger better buy a new CB!! 1st choice pairing would be TV5 & hopefully Cahill. Koz & Djourou for back up. But due to Wengers antics it doesn’t look like we’ll get Cahill now that the Chavs are snooping around!! SORT IT OUT WENGER

from d moment i saw him against liverpool in d first match,i cud see dat wenger has yet again hit d bulls eye.he shows total commitment in d pitch.in d 1st leg against barca,with koscielny playing i felt like messi wasnt der in d match.actually if u see,vermaelen only missed a match in debut season.so if hes fit like dat again dis time it will b significant,still we hav 2 get a cb 4 sure and sell squillaci.if u really want trophy u cant give room 4 mediocre players………

The difference between United, Chelsea and us is that while the former two have centre-halves and players who are READY right now, we have players who are ‘IMPROVING’. This is why Arsenal will continue to win nothing under Wenger’s current philosophy. I’m sorry Laurent, but I don’t care about your development because it’ll be too little too late.

We need one defender, either a LB or CB else we will be short in number. What if Gibbs fails to impress and TV5 has to be shifted to left? we will again have kos and johan.. I’d rather we buy a CB and let gibbs show what he can do, if now we have TV5 + johan/kos and new CB pairing.

one thing i see about this guy is that he has intelligence on the pitch of play…he’s really good..

I am not sure how true this is but i have just been told, that when Arsenal sign a player, they factor in to the equation that the player will see out his contract and have the ability to leave for nothing.

Well we need Koscielny to do well as we won’t have any CB coming this summer…!!
I really think that Wenger is done with the market and Gervinho was our only recruit.
We are not going for Cahill ( that’s newspaper tabloid ), but I won’t mind someone like Scott Parker.
I would love to see a clinical finisher ( Knowing that Van Persie will injured again, that’s a fact ), Benzema style… But it will never happen with Arsene.
The fact that we need so much, not “minor changes” like Wenger said ( delusional fool )… We will be short again and we will have regrets… As usual…!!!

Some ppl here are under estimating kos. Against a footballing side, there are not many cb that are better than him. The way he shut messi down just proves that. Having said that, we only have one first choice cb – TV5. We just need to replace squiller. He definitely is out of place in the epl. For me itll be either cahill or Vertonghen. The latter, I personally rate higher from what limited stuff ive seen of both of them.
Im hoping for another attacker. Im dreaming, but aguero will do nicely.

He is a good CB and I hope he gets his chance to prove him self this season with a quality CB next to him, being the verminator. We do need to sell squalli,spelling! And need one more midfielder and one more CB. I really would loan Scott Parker for the season. Give us another option.

Guys,Honestly all this speculation will matter if we win something next year.Period.
If not Arsenal will need to make drastic changes which could cause us to become a mid table team for the forseable future.

We need to get rid of squillaci.
The moment he steps into the pitch, we will be automatically fuc*ed.
Without squillaci, denilson, diaby, almunia, eboue and bendtner. We might really have a chance of winning something.
Now the rest is marketing, with no big signings well no big sales and no big sponsorship contracts.

his two games against barca say it all! dont forget this guy is very young for a cb, came from a very low standard league, and was tottaly dropped in at that deep end with no chance to bed in or an experienced cb next to him last year. So with all this in mind id say kosh is seriously looking like a quality sighning.
One thing also is that i think hes such a good footballer he could also play midfield, with his steeliness and general play i think he would be outstanding as a dm when songs not availible. Would love to see him get a chance in that position.

I think kosielny is seriously improving.we all knw who our arsene is, eventhough he let go of any player he wouldn’t replace hm. So i think we should b grateful that some of this players that perpetrate immaturity last season ve started seeing reasons as to why they must improve their performance this season, good example is kosh, vela nd miquel as for diaby even if he is arsene first son this season there wunt b chance for hm cos he is a trash that wouldn’t learn his leasons, denilson is another dull boy that dnt want to improve in style of play, as for bendner nd squillaci even if it is free,arsenal should find a club nd give them out cos they are bunch of knockout, schzney or hw’s that hs name bn spell, he is a litle bit fair compare to useless almunia nd d old lehman on d bench.
