Latest News On Arsenal’s Injuries & Suspensions
So all of the players have returned from international duty and manager Arsene Wenger has been assessing his squad ahead of the home game against Swansea City tomorrow.
Definitely out are Thomas Vermaelen, Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby who as we all know are sidelined through injury, but added to that list is Tomas Rosicky. Arsene Wenger said yesterday, “He came back with a kick on his knee. We’ll see how he is tomorrow morning.”
As we reported yesterday Theo Walcott is fit to play, as is Kieran Gibbs who has been training all week.
On the suspension front Gervinho and Alex Song will be unavailable as they serve the final game of their three match bans, and Carl Jenkinson will be absent after his sending off at Old Trafford.
On a positive note Emmanuel Frimpong is available after serving his one match ban at Old Trafford, and according to Arsene Wenger “Everyone else is available.”
I, like many of you, am looking forward with great anticipation to see what team will be selected tomorrow. A confidence boosting win is a must, but a positive result and three points are badly needed to get our season up and running.

With Santos making forward runs, Arshavin playing like a second striker going central whenever he can.

Gary – Wenger has said Santos is not available due to not having played since Copa America.
I would like to see Park given a go, with RVP dropping into the no.10 role like he plays for Holland
Walcott and Chamberlain on the wings
Frimpong and Arteta in the middle, giving Rambo and Arshavin a rest.
We are playing Swansea not Barcelona, so lets give AOC a go and may be even Ryo off the bench!

While I think most of us on here want to see Santos, Merte and Chu or Ox in the side given injuries and suspensions, I fear we will see

Other than Djourou (I don’t think I’ll ever get that first Man Utd goal where he was just out muscled to the ball out of my head) nothing else would be “fatal” and I see AA getting no more than 60 minutes.

Some people NEVER read… Santos hasn’t played a game since the Copa America ergo is not considered match fit. Gibbs will start.

From what I read Santos and Park are off, so is Ryo. AW suggested that both Yossi and Arteta will play.
Either from the bench or from the start.
So I guess Jamie’s starting team is the most likely.

We need and win big tomorrow. Beating up on lesser competitions is must. Intensity from the start is something we lacked last year. Hopefully RVP as captain and the fact that we have legit backups competing for spots may squash the complacency we had last year. Also, Arshavin should never start at this point in his career. 30 min super sub. Keep them little legs fresh.
I would go with this lineup tomorrow. It sends of message that things have changed and competition for spots will be fierce. Plus, theo has to start up front, especially against weaker sides. He’s being wasted out wide and we have enough wide players anyways. RVP drops in the 10 hole and picks apart defenses. the 4-2-3-1 is getting predictable. It must end.

Why AFC the only club that facing such a severe injuries on players compare with others club dont tell me that they dont have injuries problems. For the past 3-4 years these are one of the reason Wenger gave in justifying our standing but why are our players injuries prone. Sometime more than half are injured excluding the suspension????.When are we going to have full squad in action. Wenger should have able replacement not moan on the depleted squad. Stop this crying wolf things and start do somethings.Better get a result on Swansea a draw can be consider as a lost then the crisis bell will be triggered.

I was so happy with the victory for Arsenal though so difficult and not convicing.
I will proposed that the captain band should be rotetory and wish that SAGNA should be the next captain
Van perse is a captain with difficulties. Arsenal wins their matches very very difficultly when he is the captain.
Also a player like Gibbs is an inlock player,nomatter how much he plays Arsenal difficultly win matches if yes very very difficultly
