Man City agree £23m fee for Samir Nasri
It is being reported tonight that Manchester City have agreed a fee of £25m with Arsenal for the transfer of Samir Nasri to the Eastlands, just hours after Arsene Wenger said that he “would fight to keep him”.
The exact translation of the article on the Italian Tuttomercatoweb (according to Google) reads: Manchester City – as reported by Sky Sport 24 – has closed the deal with Arsenal for the acquisition of the playmaker Samir Nasri. Gunners will get 25 million euros (about £23m), while the player will sign a contract colossal six million nett per season.
This is all very strange as Nasri is currently with the Arsenal squad preparing to fly to Malaysia for the first game of the Gunners pre-season, and Wenger said just yesterday afternoon: “Our position is always the same, we want to keep Cesc and I will fight as hard as I can to keep him,”.
“Samir Nasri is exactly the same. We will do everything we can to keep him.”
I wasn’t under the impression that a giant corporation like Sky would report a downright lie, unless Sky is owned by the same people who ran the News Of The World?

im really worried about arsenal next year if fabregas and nasri leave this summer. All we need is to invest in the defence and wingers, and try to keep fabregas and nasri play them as xavi and iniesta. samba and gary cahill or djouru and play vermalen as a left back he has amazing left foot and quite fast aswell i reckon he is too short to be a demanding centre back, but i think arsene wenger wont have another what if season again.

Hmmmm, that is a very good price for a player who I think would see out his contract and leave on a free next Summer … after playing with indifference all season. Seriously, we have other Nasri like players. With the 7 Million for Clichy, that makes 32 Million so far on top of the 35 Million already in the kitty. That is a total of 67 Million to spend so far. If Fabregas goes, we’ll likely have 100 Million plus. A manager who doesn’t strengthen the team adequately with that kind of cash is going to be replaced. Especially when we have ready made replacements for Cesc with Wilshere AND Ramsey, thus not having the need to spend on filling that position – allowing other gaps to be plugged. The sales of Bendtner, Denilson and other great players like these can go towards paying the wages.

That is absolute rubbish!! There’s no way Wenger can agree to let Sammy leave today when only yesterday he seemed defiant that the player will not be sold. I’m very disappointed with Sky. Such respectable news agency just can’t publish trash like that. I’ve watched Wenger for more than a decade now, & if there were a deal in place for the player, he would sound a little vague & would therefore subterfuge to the press if such a question was raised. Besides, such news has not appeared anywhere else, & whoever has published it quotes Sky Italia, which is ludicrous, as such a development would make enormous headlines around the web. It looks like they are forgetting that Fools’ Day is something of the past, now that this is July. Come on Sky, if you don’t have what to write, keep quiet other than publishing trash!!!!!!!!

Why is an Italian paper the first to report anything about a deal between two British clubs over a French player? This is complete bs

Nasri decided to go on January when the window closed for any tranfers by Arsene. And not sign when he knows that Cesc is living. Arsenal will take the money and bring two players is having medical from Lillie and the other one is Cahill. Do not expect any other player to came and Cesc and Nasri will go. Glichy resplacement is Gibbs

I think now after selling both we have a good budget 23+35=58m,Plus the starter budget of 45m + 7m for Clichy. I think we need good left back like Abidal, and i have read that barca want to include him in Fabregas deal. if he comes i we only need a center back to partner Vermaelen. Either Cahill, or Samba (Djourou & koscielny their substitutes). In the midfield we need solid experienced DM, i have read that Sedo Kita wants to leave if Fabregas comes to barca, he already doesn’t play most of the times . Also, Juan Mata will be a good signing to replace Nasri. we already have promising midfield players like Welshire and Ramsey. I wish Benzima or Eto join us to strength our attack. we already have Gervinho and V.Persie. Finally, we need to get rid of Bentnder, Denilson, Almunia, squillaci and we will be set.
What do u think guys?

what a joke… even if we sell fab n nasri for 40 mil each there wont be any backup plan.. coz arsenal know only profit.. they dont anymore care about the fans…. they are just f**king making money.. dats what they need, the board…
someday they will sell all the player n will again rebuild the team with kids n when they grow up a bit will sell for better price …. dats profit… dats all the board knows..

I like to assume that the story of a £23M offer from City for Nas is true. My reason is its a logical solution to what has nearly become a quagmire for Arsene Wenger, and City have deep, probably endless pockets. Wenger may truely have genuine intentions of keeping Nas, but he may be incapacitated to. No one will let a promising 24yr old, supposed ‘midfield ace’ run out his contract and see him leave for nothing. That’s extremely brainless. Moreover, he isn’t going to Manure. Manure will always pose a bigger threat to arsenal than Ctity. So i say sell him to City and pay whatever Valencia want for Mata.

Yall are sayin fab and nasri can go that there’s no problem, d problem I see here is dat arsenal’s youth policy(at least dats wot we r doing nw) is going down the drain, if these playerS are allowed to go, what makes you feel the likes of wilshere ramsey and even the new players we r asking wenger to buy won’t put in transfer requests wen they become top stars…..this club has to stop being a feeder team to ‘bigger’ clubs.

If all these players wish to leave the club, let them!! all to easy to say that they didn’t win any silverware, funny that!!! why is that? maybe because when it really counted you under performed, to win silverware you need to perform week in week out!! don’t blame the club!!Have a good like at your self’s and your performances when it was really needed, the simple answer is you under performed, but you wish to point the finger else where, wake up wankers and be real.I guarantee most of these players who wish to leave will see more time on the bench than on the field!!

Nasri-fabs combination is more like Iniesta-xavi,but i think we should sell him 2 city(not united) instead of loosing him 4 free next year.Hazard or Valbuena can replace him but Cesc has no replacement.

no we sure dont believe everything what the media says but if u read what comes from nasri himself first demanding a salary like fabregas , then says that he wants to win trophies (that means he wont win it here according to him) than there are actually bids , then u know something is going on ,, look it simple he either signs the contract or he goes , and i know wenger when he actually sees the bid he will off load him , cause no way he will let him go free! and in this case i agree with wenger unload the scum ,, he kissed arsenal crest so many times,, and than this…

there’s no point keeping nasri here against his wish. ditto for fabregas. these guys filled some void created by someone, so it’s only logical for some other guys to fill the voids they’re going to creat. the globe is replete with ready-made and potential replacements.

When wenger says he will keep his players, i believe he will. He doesnt normally lie like this. He didnt say anything about clichy now did he. So he left. Clichy was going out anyways after miserable performance in this season. So Im having a feeling they BOTH will stay, but i dunno if nasri will leave for free next season.

Rupert Murdoch runs both Sky and News of The World doesn’t he ? I don’t believe this for a minute. If he does leave and Arsenal buy Juan Manuel Mata i will expect it to be an improvement. Mata is a real winger whereas Nasri is an attacking midfielder. Nasri has great technique but rarely beats his man relying more on passing and movement which makes Nasri more versatile but not necessarily as effective as Mata on the wing. Assuming that Cesc stays we already have Jack and Cesc in the central midfield role with Aaron and Diaby as backup and Frimpong and Song as dedicated DM so Mata might be a better fit than Sam.

It is obvious that some fans here are not watching the games during the season… Or are just limiting themselves to “Match of the Day”…
Nasri was the best player of the league last season, finishing second to Gareth Bale…
Anybody forgot about it…!!!!!!!!!
Again, I believe that Gareth Bale got the award because he is british…!!!!
So, how come we have so much non sense from fans saying that he has performed half of the season… Yeah, I know, FAKE ARSENAL FANS…!!
Now Wenger ( if it is true ) is talking about Gibbs as a first choice LB… I mean seriously???
He is weak, small, injury prone and inexperienced … What’s the point???
Yes Vermaelen is a better option because he has performed with brilliance at the position ( LB ) for Ajax and Belgium.

Nasri’s not going anywhere. He’ll sign a new extension. New players will be coming in to assure competitive football next season. Fab is the problem really. We need to sell him to get more funds as Wenger won’t buy big unless he sells big. His injuries annoy me even though he is exceptional when he plays. We need a guy that will give us 60-90mins for 38 games!
Arsenal I believe were very unfortunate with injuries last year. In fact most of our midfield were hit with injuries in different patches. Vermaelen our best defender was out for the whole season and our goalkeepers had more than their fair share of injuries too. We never had a consistent run of “top form football’ for more than 5 games consecutively.
If we can minimise our injury prone players or get our key injured players fit again then we can have a chance to challenge for trophies. Wenger always seems to do well with little he is given. If we are blessed with an injury free squad for a considerable time, Arsenal can really get away. We missed so many opportunities last year where we could have either closed the gap on Man U or gone top of the league. No Alex Song or Fab in the Carling Cup and that’s what really cost us. The Koscielny blunder could have been negated by Song’s presence or with Fab in as well, we may have had more scoring opportunities.
I’m really looking forward to seeing 3 young previously injured gunners do well this season. They are:
Frimpong
Gibbs
Ramsey
Frimpong is on top of my ‘to watch” list. He is a menace in midfield. He reminds me of Essien. Gibbs is a future England left back and he will develop to be a strong defender. He’s lightning quick. As for Ramsey, this kid’s special. Great vision and understanding of the game. Too many Gunners’ fans underestimate the upcoming youth talent we really have under Wenger’s management. Throw Miyaichi in the mix too and we’ve got players that could eventually be worth tens of millions.
The big names will come, but don’t forget our young gunners. They need an opportunity to prove themselves too. You never know, they might even be more effective than some if our wanted big names.

they want their money back but going about it the wrong way
win trophies n u’ll get a massive fan base all over the world,no need to go stupid asian tour just to promote product
n sign sponsorship deals
where’s the 40 million from adebayor/toure’s transfers
the manager lost the plot,he sold toure n allowed gallas to go for free, then went n got squilacci, give me a break guyz
if you still believe in him, don’t tell me bout it

Finally we can bring this prolonged trial to an end. Nasri is an ungrateful child using us to better himself and then leaving like he’s too good , let’s face it when he came to the club he was good but not much hype surrounded him because of the Arsenal he was named French player of the year in a year in which he wasn’t picked for the world cup. He should get on his knees and thank Arsenal for everything but no he leaves like the ungrateful twit he is good riddance. In the end the name on the front of the shirt will always be better than the name on the back!!!! Gooner for life baby!!!!

I agree we should let him go, but for £23,000,000. Do me a favour. I think we can all agree that Nasri, i don’t care what year his contract is on, Man Utd wouldnt even sell Michael Carrick for 23 million, Nowadays, football clubs find that sort of money down the back of the sofa. Don’t even get me started on Cesc Fabregas being valued at £27 million by the aragont twats in the Barcelona camps, they wouldn’t sell Busquets for that money and he’s worse than Denilson! We should replace Nasri with Eden Hazard, and Fabregas with Pastore or someone of that quality and age. Not only would we replace them. But, arguably we would be better…
Next Season:
————–Szczesny———-
–Sagna-Vermaelen-Samba-Baines–
———Wilshere–Song———
–Walcott—–Pastore—-Hazard-
————van Persie———-
This team is sick, and we are capable of achieving it…

Just like The Serengeti Gooner said, Arsene wenger must be removed from Arsenal, I’m so tired of watching defeats and lack of trophies. That Wenger is a stupid airhead if he sells Samir Nasri, Wenger must keep the good elements like Samir, get rid of the old ones like Rosicky and invest big in players, he must spare no expenses!
