Man Utd to beat Arsenal to Mario Gotze?
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is keen on bringing Borrusia Dortmund midfielder and reported Arsenal target Mario Gotze to Old Trafford.
The newspaper is reporting that the sinister Scot had sent scouts to watch Gotze on four different occasions and that there were United scouts present during Germany’s recent game against the Netherlands.
The teenager is attracting interest from all over Europe and has been heavily linked with the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid over the last couple of months. The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already spoken of his admiration for the young German and recent reports suggest that the 62-year-old Frenchman will try and lure him to the Emirates in the summer.
Although it seems highly unlikely that Gotze will stay in Dortmund after this season, the German club’s managing director Hans Joachim Watzke has released a statement saying that any clubs with a thought of signing the 19-year-old in the upcoming January window or in the summer should save themselves the cost of a phone call and drop the idea.
The lack of creativity in the Arsenal midfield has been quite evident so far this season and there are many who speculate that Wenger will look to bring in the German sensation to fill the void.
However, the teenager’s valuation has soared even higher after all the publicity and with Manchester United, Real Madrid and possibly even Manchester City keeping a close eye on the situation, one has to wonder whether Arsenal still have a chance of signing this wonderkid.

I get it why he would like to move to united, not so much competition, great manager and a big team. But real and city? to compete with players like özil,kaka ? nasri,silva,aguero? But if he move to Arsenal he will move to the next generation, we got the best midfilding talents, song,firmpong,coquelin,ramsey,wilshere. Hope he choose us..

It does seem as though whoever it is reported Arsenal want within a couple of weeks 10 other clubs get interested. especially spurs, united, city and madrid. Perhaps we should throw in a couple of serious bids for players we don’t want and see who buys them. Do they not have scouts of their own.

I read that it will take a 50 million bid to get him. Personally, I don’t think we need him at that price. Especially, since wilshere is coming back. I would love arsenal to have him but at that price I rather arsenal get neymar or a world class striker.

there is no way we are signing this kid. Big clubs are interested and there is no chance he will be sold for less than 35 mil pounds. And arsene wont spend that much even on zizou. Lets all be realistic and wait and see what happens. MILAN WILL GET RAPED!!

He’s not worth 50 million. 5 years from now with proven success maybe. Of course old bacon face is interested. United has an aging midfield and whenever there’s a new hot target barca, real, city, Chelsea etc are interested. Spuds too, lol. Like Goetze would choose Spurs over the manchesters, Arsenal etc. I don’t see him going to Real or Barcelona if he wants immediate playing time

marco reus is another good option.. personally, i doubt that wenger would sign them because we have good young players forcing their way into the first team.. like frimpong and coquelin.. i still hope players like gotze or reus to join the team though..

Arsenal act slow? I only can see is Arsenal FC always the first to link with these players and when under negotiation some big bag just jump in and put bunch of $$ on the table, there will silent both parties and obvious even the players are not willing to go some clubs but the salary and price tag make over the sense and with demon agency to influence and misguide the naive 19 years old to hook with the worst choose.
Arsenal should keep the card very close to themselves, thanks to media most of the target being open to public

Come on guys. Do you really think he is worth so much money and battling the biggest teams in europe to get Gotze? Specially, after we all saw him in the CL and he wasn’t as good as he was supposed to. Don’t get me wrong, he is a really good player indeed, but he is not the player media has been bragging about. As i’ve said a lot of times before, if we are gonna get a creative midfielder we should go after C. Erikssen. He should be easy to get from Ajax, he suits perfectly Arsenal style and he would make an awesome partnership with Wilshere.

I’m not really worried about what Gotze wants e.g CL football and playing time, things that he knows he’ll get at Arsenal. I’m more concerned about Borussia Dortmund not wanting to release him on the cheap. And anything below 30M is cheap to them.
Wenger would laugh at that price, knowing very well that he can buy 3 quality players for that much. Ferguson is desperate to resuscitate his midfield from the dead and will irresponsibly pay that much for him. Look how they spent nearly 50M on Jones, Young and De Gea just to play Europa! hahaha. It’s bloody hilarious. Not being able to take a kick in the guts of pride playing Europa, the chewing cow will spend as much money as possible to buy trophies! Manure, no class at all!
If we don’t get Gotze, it’s not the end of the world! We still have Jack coming back, Arteta is doing great and Chamberlain is on the rise.

This is becoming a regular thing – Wenger spots a player, every top-team chases him. I reckon someone within the staff is giving away tips about people who top our lists. Therefore, I say: Wenger should do spotting as quiet as possible, let the other teams pay ridiculous fees for a player, buy someone for less than 1 million pounds and make him a superstar, like he did before. In Wenger I trust!

i see wenger buying someone cheap and available for champions league just as an addition to the squad not a big signing we are all dreaming about. we have players that haven’t kicked the ball for us yet and could be presented in january as new signings.
miyaichi, park,chamberlain and afobe if you add wilshere and sagna it will be like 6 january signings. still i am not ruling out any new signing but this is wenger we are talking about. at the end of january if the new boys are doing well and our injured players are back he will count them as signings.

Foolish of the website to post anything by the daily mail. First off Götze issued a statement saying he would only go to Barca or Arsenal. Secondly Fergie has been saying he won’t buy his way out of United’s injury crisis. Absolute bollocks from the Daily Fail, couple weeks ago they were saying we practically signed him, go further back and apparently real madrid have been having secret contract talks with Wilshere

just to let u know guys, im a united fan, wenger’s record transfer fee is 15 mil. and you guys have a midfield(central) superior to ours, youve got ramsey and wilshere, and chamberlain i feel will be a good midfielder in the future. we have no-one to create play in the centre or someone to back up rooney. our best is tom cleverley and hes injured. for people saying he wont come to united coz he aint gettin champs league, 2 points. 1. hes cupo tied to dortmund. 2. he along with the footballing world will know that was an anomaly, otherwise no such fuss wouldve happened but goetze wont leave in january, with dortmund 2nd, its like saying silva leave city or nani leave us in jan, aint gonna happen. last point = all good germans just end up at bayern munich anyway
