Mark Hughes – Arsenal fans mistreated Adebayor!

Posted on August 31, 2009 by admin

The Man City manager Mark Hughes saw his new £25m striker Emanuel Adebayor score his third goal in three games to help retain City’s 100% start to the season, and reckons that his improvement is down to the support he receives from the fans at the Eastlands, as opposed to the boos and criticism he received from the Arsenal supporters.

“He was superb again here.” Hughes said. “There was a lot said about Ade as a player and a person, a lot of it negative. But he has come in and is very much wanting to be a success for us.

“He is vocal in the dressing room, encouraging his team-mates. Many of the things said I haven’t seen in him.

“He’s enjoying himself and the fans love him. That was maybe missing from his life before.”

This may be true Mark, but the Arsenal fans were booing him for a reason! Or 80,000 reasons if you consider what he was paid for sulking around the pitch every week!

Adebayor was quite happy to have won the game for City too! He said after the game: “When I came here all the players were working hard.

“They believed in my strength, they believed in my ability.

“At the moment I’m just working hard for the team and for the club.

“We have played three games and won three games so we’re very happy. We want to keep on going, keep on enjoying ourselves on the pitch.”

“My confidence is very high.

Stupid comment from a money-rich team manager who just about hung on to a 1 nil lead against a team we put to the sword albeit at the Emirates. Mark Hughes must do better to keep his councel to himself for now as it is only just 3 games in. He can mouth off when Ade-money has played the whole season and scored good goals against stronger oppositions! I believe we will do very well this season, you don’t worry about that! However Arsene must strengthen the squad to avoid egg on our faces come the end of the season with injuries wreaking havoc to the team presently. Come on ye reds, go on Arsenal!!

hughes would have appreciated the arsenal fans for raising such a strong goal scorer whom(hughes)have never seen

  3. tony says:

ade was acting like a bitch saying all sort of things from milan is like beyonce to im in football for the money. stupid hughes. you’ve known a guy for barely 5 weeks and u begin to judge? just wait till things start to go wrong and your job is on the line and ade begins to sulk then ud know is was too early to pass a judgement on ade

  4. Arsenal1Again says:

He’ll soon be back to his usual ways. For each goal Adebayor scores, he’ll miss twenty. I haven’t seen a player need so many chances since Andy Cole and Defoe.

Also, saying this really endeared Adebayor to us … “Give me a new deal and a pay rise or I’m off.”

Adebayor then looked lazy all season after getting an 80k/week pay deal – which endeared him even more.

The biggest problem Adebayor had was the belief he was Thierry’s replacement …. when we all know it was and still is Eduardo. Adebayor was just a stand in for Edurado while he recovered from his injury, and now Eddie’s back – the togolese is Adebyebye.

Oh yeah, and watch the rot set in your dressing room Mr Mark Hughes after the ‘3 goals in 3 matches’ become ‘2 goals in 5 matches’ … you’ll perhaps shut up then.
