Merson tells Wenger to replace Bendtner with Carlton Cole!
Cole - Better than Bendtner?
The ex-Arsenal winger Paul Merson was watching the Sunderland v West Ham game today, and he thinks that Carlton Cole was by far away the best player on the pitch, and said that he is bound to be bought by someone in January, and he suggested that Arsenal snap him up!
“First half he was unplayable. He was absolutely phenomenal.” Merson told Soccer Saturday.
“It was like an 18-year-old playing in an Under-12’s league. Honestly, he was frightening, absolutely frightening.
“He was Drogba, he was absolutely brilliant. I said to Charlie during the game that someone will buy him.
“Now if Arsenal want to go and sell the ‘best player in the world’ in Bendtner and get Cole I think they’ll be flying.
“I’d be surprised if he’s there in January. I’d be shocked.”
Whether Arsene Wenger will listen to Merson’s advice is another thing, especially as Bendtner has promised that he will be the Premiership top-scorer in the next five years.
You have to admire his confidence!

bentdner was arsenal’s best player on the pitch before he got injured today in a north london derby. if he thinks cole is greta and worthy of a chance at arsenal, fine, but i think he’s an idiot to mock bentdner.
He should not mock bendtiner…but the truth is carlton is as good as drogba at the moment…he is quick and strong…when we played against them last sunday, the boy was the best in that westham team, at some point i was playing he gets injured before scoring…and in the end he scored one and made one…he should not be playing for westham…very good player..
He’s awesome. He was wasted in Chelsea and should not be wasted anymore ! He really should find a bigger club (with the exception of Spuds) !
Bendtner may not be better than Cole, but he does true job in true B-52 bomber style, which to me matches part of the club’s identity.

Yeah Arsenal had to put up 3 players on him and he still put up a strong fight against 3 players. Sensational is what I would say. I do want him at Arsenal, he’s got strength, pace, skill (though not really like the Arsenal players, but he can learn) and what seems like a good strikers’ instinct.
Oh btw, I think he’s better than Drogba – he’s almost a decade younger and just as big a bully!

Agreed, Cole is great. Arsenal should NOT sell Bendtner, a gd player, he is getting better.
Aw specialized in buying midfielder who can also play wide. he is not very skillful in buying striker, defender & keeper.
Nice idea,but selling ”pink boy”should not be an option,let both play up front 4 gunners.
I think Mearson is right on Cold but wrong on selling bendtner, instead sell that sluggish Diaby coz he is never playing arsenal football. We also have so many good mid fielders that are better. Please AW get Carlton Cole coz he is a fighter, strong and very able as a sole striker so that we dont say later on that I wanted to buy when he goes to another team like it has always been with other players.
AW wont be buying cole, he already has too many options up front with V. persie. eduardo, bentdner, arshavin and vela..
Its too bad really coz arsenal sure need a little more strength up forward..
But arsenals problem is that their first choice striker V.persie is doing fine at the moment..but if we were to lose him to injury then our second and third choice strikers and really quite up to it..except for maybe arshavin who really hasnt got the height or strength to be a second choice striker..
Bentdner still needs another 2 seasons of football until we see the best in him. and im sure it will come..
Adebayor leaving has left a little bit of a whole in our forward attacking power and i dont think think that AW will spend big this summer for another forward..
Merson is really right about cole. i only wish Arsene signed him in Jan. his skills en pace all wrapped together with strength match Arsenal’s quick passing. however Merson must be blowing bullshit if he’s trying 2 attack any of the players. Yeah sure, get Bendtner out and Cole in, just because he has now (at nearly 26) played some very good games.
I mean come on Bendtner is 4 years younger than Cole and already has broken into the Arsenal first team, while Cole is still playing at WHU. So how could he be that much better.

BENTNER should be played as a central striker and NOT as a winger.

Bendtner is played out of position …. the guy is an Arsenal Striker playing on the flanks. Duh!
As for Denilson, no player had more minutes on the pitch last season than him. If you think he’s as bad as you think, you need to find some mickey mouse team like Man City or Chelsea. They’re completely brimming with class midfielders who’re better than our Denilson **SARCASM**.
The Shayne joker hasn’t seen how much ground Denilson covers in 90minutes. It isn’t so noticeable on a tv.
