Miquel warns Arsenal to be careful against Aston Villa
The young Arsenal defender Ignasi Miquel played against Leeds in the last round of the FA Cup (the last game that Arsenal actually won) and he is looking forward to another run-out against Aston Villa this weekend, but he has warned his team-mates not to take the game lightly if they want to go all the way to Wembley.
He said: “Anyone can beat anyone in the cups. You saw in the Carling Cup that Manchester United lost at home to a Championship team [Crystal Palace],”
“These games are completely different from the league, so anyone we play will be a hard game. Of course the big teams have a good chance in the FA Cup, but you have to stay focused and make sure you beat who is in front of you.
“It is a dream to play at Wembley in a big final. First, we have to go step by step, but obviously if we can get to Wembley it would be a big, big thing for us.
“We have not won a title for quite long, so it would be great for us. But our next game is on Sunday against Aston Villa and we must focus on that. If we keep working and stay mentally strong we can get through it.”
He absolutely loved being in the side against Leeds (when Henry came on and scored the winner) and he says the crowd helped the team to win that day. “That was amazing. It was the best crowd I have ever seen at the Emirates. The last 10 or 15 minutes were unbelievable,” Miquel said.
“Everyone knows it is a hard time for us but if you get the supporters behind you, you feel more comfortable. After Thierry scored, Leeds had a couple of chances but we stayed strong at the back and the supporters were with us, so that helped a lot.”
Perhaps it was the crowd that helped Arsenal LOSE against Man Utd last weekend. Let’s hope they are a little more supportive this weekend!

@afc89 ur absalutely right because maybe if the fans didn,t murder arshavin’s confidence we could hav won the game, maybe altho am nt sayig it was wrong becos a lot of fans a r fastrated. We hav to stick with our team. wen am watching on tv i rarely hear the gunner fans shout to support their team like how other big teams do. am sorry guys in uk bt its the truth

Would like to see Miguel play LB and keep TV5 in the middle with Koz. Though Miguel sometimes lapses in defending his runs forward and crosses were pretty good. He also brings a certain energy to the squad that can go lacking with this present team.
Arshavin to the highest bidder also IMHO.
