More injury worries for Wenger
After recently losing Nasri for up to 3 weeks it seems that Arsène Wenger may have another injured player on his hands. Alex Song had to be taken off at half-time during Arsenals 2-1 win over Everton.
The defensive midfielder who has been in great form so far this season can not walk and will have to undergo tests in order to determine what the problem is.
Vermaelen has had a long term problem with his achilles and is expected to return in 6 weeks having missed most of the season so far. He has not played since September.
Samir Nasri is expected to be out for 3 weeks after suffering a hamstring injury against Huddersfield. But Arsène is hopeful Nasri can recover more quickly.
Song is the latest Arsenal player to suffer an injury. Arsène Wenger said: “Alex Song cannot walk. I don’t know what he has got. He was kicked, I think it was by Koscielny, he knocks out everybody in our team. So we have to see how he responds to that in the next days, but he cannot walk at the moment”.
Arsenal can not afford to lose many more players with Champions League games against Barcelona looming.

with an luck coz he got kicked hes just very sore and no real damage . he did play on at the time so it must of been gonna feel that in the morning injuries rather than a strain or a tear or he wouldnt of been able to make it to half time . i no diaby is not everyones cup of tea and hes got allot to prove to convince some people , but i relly feel he can cover song if needs be . i no diaby has been inconcistent but i have seen games in the past that he can completely outmuscle and dominate a match in midfield , i just really hope he realises this is his time to step up and show his true potential at last ! you owe yourself the fans and the team diaby !

Toby, the problem with Diaby is, aside from his inconstitency, Diaby does not play with flow of the game or his team mates. Diaby always slow down the flow/pace of the game whenever he gets the ball and, this enables the opposition to get their players back and defend en mass (in numbers). So, this one aspect of Diaby’s game that he needs to improve.
And seriously speaking, bcos of the numbers of games we are involve in all competitions, AW should have signed an utility player like Vertoghen who can play in a number of positions. Song definitely need an adequate cover. Maybe Wenger might have to recall one of our young midfielders currently on loan. Keep the faith and hope the best.

Two weeks until Barcelona and it looks like Arsenal are going to be fielding half a team again.
So here’s a crazy idea: Arsene should pick his team for the game against Barca and secret them away somewhere to study Barcelona’s positioning, tactics, strengths, and weaknesses. Come up with something tactically new and surprising: man-mark their front 5, play a 1-5-4, or something crazy. Take Walcott and Wilshere from the first team, and play them with a group of energetic youngsters.

this was on the anvil & was bound to happen…we were walking tightrope with no signings in Transfer window…
our first 11 is Premier league’s best bur our bench is full of dead wood…
replacing Song with Diaby & Denilson – just laughable..
The joker AW would now realise his mistakes but hey he won’t admit them… he is a loser…
This happens to us every year…we feel we are so close & yet we go back b’cos of that prick’s stubborness… we might win a Carling cup, that’s all..if Nasri, Song, Walcot can’t play for the next 2/3 weeks, the league would be over for us..mark my words.. we have Newcastle, Barca, Stoke coming in…
Add to it that Vermealon is out at least for one more month… add god forbid if any of our other forst 11 gets injured, I shudder what would happen…
we fans were somehow praying that injuries don’t hit us…but that’s what happened..and only the foolhardy AW is to be blamed….look at how he is scoffing at others for buying…
Arsenal fans- get realistic..others are beefing uo to improve… we are stagnant to earn the 2nd/3rd position in Premier league yr after yr under this scum…
What would u prefer..winning a Premier League one season with credible signings ( not going over the roof ) or content with qualifying in CL & being second/third best in EPL… Choice is ours…

Those saying Wenger is a “Joker” and the whole “In Arsene we rust” brigade really need a reality check. Sure it would be great to have a world class player to bring in to replace Song but they aren’t gonna sit on the bench happily the rest of the season.
Wenger is the greatest manager we have ever had (possibly excluding Chapman) – we’re in the final of the league cup, second in the league (having played the majority of the top teams twice already), and still in the champions league and FA cup… what more do you want??

Also worth pointing out that Chelsea strengthening may help us as they have to play Utd twice still and we don’t have to meet them.
