Nashy: ARSENE WENGER IS NOT CHUFFING ABOUT THIS SEASON!
ARSENE WENGER IS NOT CHUFFING ABOUT THIS SEASON by Nashy
“I believe any player or any employee has to defend the company he works for and if he’s not completely happy with it he has to go somewhere else.” Arsene Wenger
BOOM. Arsene Wenger is clearly not chuffing about this season and if the quick sale of a disillusioned Alex Song wasn’t enough of a pointer in his no nonsense approach to squad management, then the quick public rebuke of Bacary Sagna tells enough of a story. Season after season Arsenal have been hamstrung and hindered by egos taking over the dressing room, leading to a lack of harmony amongst the players which is a very tangible reason for our lack of fight in recent seasons. It’s simple enough, if you love the club and those that you are playing with then you are more likely to fight for every point.
You’re more likely to put in that extra little bit of effort to ensure victory, meaning that this season could finally see us put to bed the “Can they do it on a rainy night in Bolton? Oh they’re relegated.. a rainy night in Stoke! Oh that’s already taken place… a rainy night in Norwich it is!”
We shouldn’t really be counting our chickens just yet, but we can only go on what we’ve seen so far, and so far we’ve seen a new defensive resolve that will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season. The confidence that keeping three clean sheets, compared to the comparative confidence shattering experience of shipping eight at your worst enemy’s back yard, will bring to the squad is a brilliant platform for us to kick on and show that we canj be consistent at the top level.
Too many seasons have seen us perform to our potential in patches, yet you see something in this team that Wenger has put together that differs from other seasons. It’s hard to articulate just what I’m talking about, but here’s a metaphor that real Arsenal fans will understand.
You know that look in Vermaelans eyes? That steely, cold hearted stare? The whole team have that this season. Even the kit man. Even Pam the Tea Lady is more consistent with the sugars in her tea.
And I think that’s all we want, as Arsenal fans. Not consistent sugar application, although that is always a bonus, but to have a team which will be consistent throughout the season and be there or thereabouts come the end. Although I thought it couldn’t get worse than being in the title race until having the annual February car crash, being out of the title race by October was appalling.
Bacary Sagna knows that as much as all of us. He has a right to be slightly miffed that we sold two of our best players, we were all pretty chuffing miffed about it so someone who actually plays for the team has every right to feel disillusioned about the situation. But Bacary also needs to realise that he plays for Arsenal Football Club.
Victoria Concordia Crescit.
I love Arsenal,
and I love you too……

It’s about time Wenger put his foot down on this instead of trying to keep players like with Cesc who he kept an extra year when everyone knew he wanted to go home to Barcelona

Feels like a new squad what with 3 in 2 out plus diaby back, jack coming back thats like 5 in not to mention mannone back from loan to offer a reliable 2/3rd choice. And a shake up in coaching with yes bould but also banifield. if were in a title fight come car crash February bould can shout the results out of them for fear of god
imagine if he was there 7 years ago? 2 titles and champions league? could have been. looking forward to the season

Yes. I know exactly what you mean by “taht look” in their eyes, and there is definitely something that differs. This team, this years, from the previous ones.

I like this new team and I think if we can win tomorrow with our goal in tact, I will back us to finish top 2. Especially after the performances I saw them do against ManU and city.

Mehrzad, Sagna is entitled to his opinions, as are we all. The difference is that he is an employee of the club and differences of opinion should be aired behind closed doors. Few companies will welcome employees’ public dissent; private is another matter. So no, his outburst is not “fully understandable”. On the contrary, it was poorly judged as it should have been communicated in private rather thasn in public.
Wenger is not cocky, and nor does he run – or even attempt to run – a dictatorship.

If a player want to leave, help him leave. The club need committed players to be strong. Players with devided loyality are the ones who do not give that extra effort to the last minute. Am happy Wenger is tunning like this. It happens in other big club, your either with us or ur not.

The Dom: he has bought quality. What else do you call Cazorla?
Eden Hazard would have been nice too, but it’s not affordable.

Everyone loves to hate but lets not forget that we are the pride of london and if Sagna wants to leave then so be it – we have been around longer then he has and will continue to do so – we only want players who love the club – not these jokers who are chasing trophies – did Matt Le Tissier or Tony Adams care about trophies or transfer policies – Gooner 4 Life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is high time Wenger stands up and challenge them that if adequate transfer fund is released he will quit

It is high time Wenger stands up and challenge them that if adequate transfer fund is released he will quit as no top class manager will want to manage a club with low transfer budget, then they will agree to Wenger terms

Dude…they sold two of the our best players last year…wake up and smell the coffee?
If Sanga says he is pissed off factor in that he is 29 has 1 year on his contact and can get one last big day if he leaves. Oh and by the way he said something about wanting to win trophies too.
….oh and FFP will change nothing….

I dont blame sagna for being annoyed hes 29 not 22 he cant hang around another 2 seasons hoping we can win something.
His carrer will be winding down soon so i understand his anguish.
Giroud is no RVP!!
Sagna knows this.
And realistcly a trophy will be won in a cup competition not the league.
Nice to see wenger making a stance aginst rebel players for once!!!!
but not really sure what it will achieve now.
