Nasri and Fabregas both staying at Arsenal!

Posted on July 11, 2011 by admin

It seems that both Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri are both going to be staying at Arsenal next season, according to Sky Sports, who have quickly stuck a report up saying that Arsene Wenger has made a press conference on arrival in Malaysia.

They reported that after arriving in Malaysia for the Gunners’ pre-season tour of the Far East, Wenger confirmed he expects Fabregas and Nasri to be part of his plans for the coming campaign.

Well at least (for now) all Arsenal fans can breathe a big sigh of relief and now concentrate on how Wenger is going to be strengthening the team, rather than worrying about who is good enough to replace Cesc and Sami!

Here is what Wenger said, according to ESPN: “I expect Samir Nasri to stay,”

“There is always speculation, but he is committed to the club right now.”

”Will he be at the club next season? I say yes. The second part (of the question) – will he sign a new contract? I hope yes, but I am not the only one to decide.”

When asked about Fabregas, he replied: “Cesc loves the club and hopefully we will manage. We know that the story for Barcelona goes on for years now and we have to close that and continue with the season. I never speak on matters that happen behind closed doors. I have given the media enough headlines and I don’t want to add any more.”

So it sounds like Wenger is going to let Nasri run his contract down if he doesn’t sign the new contract, and also that Fabregas is not happy about not being allowed to leave.

Will he be as committed to the club, considering he only played soradically last season, and not to mention that he didn’t turn up for Arsenal’s last game of the season. Was that really because he was seriously injured or because his heart is somewhere else?

It’s great that they are staying, but will they play to the best of their ability?

Does that ring a bell?wenger is not that foolish to make same mistake he did with flamiini, its obvious cesc is staying but for nasri,it looks like the decision is not yet made and both parties haven’t agreed on what they want,if wenger was confident of nasri staying ,his statement would have been, yes he is staying and commiting to more years this week,I think that would have been more assuring, besides, skysports are not always authentic,I prefer guardian breaking this news, though we still need parker,he is a replica of ray parlour

Players should not be begged to play for a team. Nasri should be let go so that Flamini’s case ll not repeat. As for Fab, last season showed an undedicated him. Insisting on keeping him ll spell a doom for the club. Wenger spend money and get trophy-winners for us. Usmanov and Kroenke must not pocket every profit made. Wenger, buy! buy! buy!

Absolute codswallop! Thats Wenger lying/spin doctoring again! This man is unashamedly a liar! These 2 players have made it as plain as day that they WANT TO LEAVE! Who is he kidding?! By forcing them to stay – is that a really good idea? Will they give the 110% on the pitch that is required of them next season? Does anyone really believe that Cesc gave 110% last season? And his refusal to go into the transfer market early – what does that say about his management skills? Has anyone noticed that Wenger has NOT mentioned a new keeper? Does he honestly believe that we have the required caliber between the sticks right now? Sigh! Can’t wait for this incompetent fool to leave with his tail between his legs next season!

It is on the arsenal website aswell so wenger actually said ot but if they do go arsene wenger live probally get sacked because ivan gazadis our chairman said if the fans aren’t happy with him he’ll go and we won’t b happy if they go after he said they aren’t leaving I think he’s being smart we don’t have to sell them they are under contract so if we build on our sqaud now they will probally want to stay and we might win something: )

Fab should def leave, as much as i am in love with arsenal, he should go, he has no love for the club, we need a henry, he had passion for arsenal. I feel that he brings down the clubs morale and Fabregas, as much of a quality player he is, would be better of leaving, all be it he will be a nice bench warmer at barca!

  24. Tanner says:

I agree with richie, we should get rid of the average players who take up about a third of the salary and don’t even play, and sign some good players but more importantly, KEEP OUR GOOD PLAYERS.

  26. miyaichi says:

@richie,that will be great, but will they give their all knowing that wenger won’t replace those leaving with a better player?I think he will promote one or two inexperienced kids?keeping both will be the best and I think arsenal can match any salary scale in the world,I don’t think cesc have a replacement in football, his vision is 2nd to none,if I’m to chose who to stay among both I think cesc should stay and get the 20+mill from outside premiership bidder,if wenger likes he should spend the money on replacement or keep it to himself,to be sincere,I’m seeing no danger with the team,a defender is all what we need,in wenger I trust

  28. We only need signatures on new contracts, not otherwise, today I have heard of Gervinho, may be fo that thanks to God, ut we have lost Clichy not yet replaced, we need strong defending midfielder and strong experienced goalkeeper like chek or Hart if we realy want to have atrophy this season or next. Otherwise wenger should leave in peace. In Wenger I least trust.

  30. Bouba says:

Well, it seems to be a good news, but I will believe it when I see it…

Personally I think that if a player wants to move to another club, he should go…
Fabregas and Nasri might not be in a perfect frame of mind to perform, and it is not good for the club… or the squad…

Now if they are staying, Wenger needs to show some ambition on the transfer market…

I truly believe that Gervinho will be our only in this transfer market… Mark my words…!!!

We now know how Wenger operates, he is going to talk to the press, send mix signals and we will be at the end of August… Then he will come to the press room and said that he could not find any quality players on the market…

Our defence is crying for help: 42 goals… We have conceded 42 goals… When you want to win the league that’s just shocking and impossible to achieve…

He is talking about Gibbs, Traore or moving Vermaelen to the left… The fact that he is mentioned Vermaelen gives me some hope for the arrival of a proper, powerful CB… Concerning Gibbs and Traore, that’s just a joke… And I am not laughing…!!! Both of them are useless.

He has recruited Gervinho because Bendtner is going ( thanks, what a nuisance…!! Skill full when it comes to talk to journalist or the newspapers, but clueless on the pitch ).

Denilson is going too and I assume that Frimpong or Ramsey are the natural replacements ( can not believe I am saying that, but it is telling you how important Denilson was for Wenger )…

Too many faults, mistakes ( tactical mistakes ) have been made by Wenger…

We need to be more ruthless… But to do that we need rough and experience players… Remember the invincible? rough, talented, experienced… They were a nightmare for any team in Europe… They were colossus and unforgiven… Just the killer instinct.

We have lost it because our manager turned into a businessman…

Is he going back to his creative and successful ways, we will know by the end of August…

I truly believe that we will have a season worse than the last one…
I just want Wenger ( and his greedy crew ) to prove me wrong…

  32. x_bcx_bc says:

it doesn’t matter which players we will use so long as we continue to play our so-called beautiful but in reality extremely one-dimensional and highly predictable football. Let’s face it I know some of you can and is willing to die for Arsene but if you tell other fans to go support United instead when you hear them mildly complain about our beloved manager and are annoyed then that means you appreciate Arsene’s presence more than the trophies. OK some day in the (far far far) future he MIGHT lead us out of this drought but how long will it take, one year, five years, twenty years? If a hundred years or so later he manages to stop the drought I know you will come to me and triumphantly say “I told you!” in my face. Djourou or Squillaci screws? Let’s humiliate him, use abusive language at him and brand him a failure. Wenger screws? Let’s wait till we get relegated and after that we can give him a polite word of encouragement, you clever AKB you.

“If you’re so smart then manage the club yourself,” you say? Well for your information I actually did mail our club to apply for the position but it seems there has been no response for awhile. Blame them for ignoring me, not me.

The only thing we’ve won these past six year is Emirates Cupt, Fact. Fact hurts, but it doesn’t go away when you’re disillusioned. If Arsene wants to improve Arsenal then I don’t mind him doing it at Arsenal, but if he wants to prove his philosophy then he doesn’t need to do it here.
OK OK Arsene doesn’t have to leave Arsenal but he shouldn’t be the first team manager anymore. Instead make him in charge of the youth academy or something.

yes fixing our defense would be a good start. It doesn’t matter if we have Cesc or Maradona if we are going to score 4 goals and be equalized in the end.

And confirming that Samir will stay when you’re not even sure if he will sign a new contract is called foolish.

Both Cesc and Nasri will be sold this summer. Wenger always says “he is staying” when asked about his wantaway star players like Vieira, Henry, Cesc and now Nasri. Henry and Vieira ended up going so why wouldn’t Cesc and Nasri?

Cesc’s heart is at Barcelona UNLESS he openly says otherwise, I say let him leave and get money for new players. If Nasri won’t sign a new contract it would be better to sell him now (preferably to a non-english club) before his contract ends.

How can you talk about being financially prudent and then throw away £23 million for 1 season of Samir Nsari. It’s insane! He could take that money and bring in a very decent replacement on a long term contract. It just confirms what I’ve always thought, Wenger is more motivated by personal pride than caring about the club finances. How can you pull out of a deal for Mark Shwarzer over £1 million and then throw away £23 million. He won’t pay £12 million for Samba but will waste £23 million. It doesn’t make sense, the club is being run by an idiot.

    2) Goetze (Dortmut) 30 million pounds – CESK
    3) Hazzard (Lille) 25 million pounds – CESK
    4) Taarabt (QPR) 10 million pounds – NASRI

I have great love the two players mentioned and if they are staying that’s well and good but that shouldn’t be used as an excuse for Wenger to stop buying new players especially on defence. Sometimes i wish Mourinho could assist Wenger to shop for the back line department.
