Nasri Set To Play In Italy?

Posted on August 23, 2011 by admin

It may come as good news to some of you, but on the other hand it may not as it depends on your point of view. Samir Nasri looks set to travel to Italy with the rest of the Arsenal squad for the make or break game with Udinese.

Nasri trained with the rest of the squad at the clubs training base this morning in Colney, and BBC London have reported that he is all set for a flight to Italy this afternoon.

This time last week Nasri was all set for a move to Manchester City, but talks broke down on Friday which meant he was included in the squad for the game against Liverpool. He was actually one of Arsenal’s better players on Saturday and he if plays tomorrow it will give the club a timely boost just when they need it most.

If Nasri plays and Arsenal qualify for the group stages of the Champions League it should make the addition of new players a little easier, if not more expensive in the remaining days of the transfer window. The next 36 hours are crucial to the future of both Samir Nasri and Arsenal it would seem, well for this season at least.

Hilarious. I read the news story on the BBC, it says ‘more to follow’

I refresh and now it says this.

Manchester City have agreed terms with Arsenal for midfielder Samir Nasri, with the 24-year-old set for a medical.

Looks like that did the trick

NAsri is off to Man City.. Focus now is to advance into champions league proper. We also need to close Hazard deal asap! The boy is fantastic, much better than Nasri trust me! We should also sign M’Vila and Samba. Anyone see Gary Cahill and Jagielka wobble over the weekend? They are not worth those multimillion price tags.

Would also love to see a raid for Tim Cahill and Leigton Bains..

    Anyone with me?

RVP is gona be next to leave, thats the thing i dont blame thm, look at our team not even 1 world class players.more like midtable team n that clueless wenger still buying kids

  16. Mehrzad says:

I dont blame Nasri nor Fabregas. Year after year, match after match they scored and played fantastic just to see their efforts wiped off by extremely weak gk and defense like Almunia Fabianski squillachi silvestre clichy etc. Wenger and board did absolutely nothing to strengthen the team.
I am sure, both Fab and Nasri would have stayed if AW and board had shown some efforts (and not just talks) to make the team stronger. It is so sad that the entire team is now young kids and/or injury prone players. What has AW done to Arsenal? Has his mission been to deliberately destroy a team, then he has succeeded.

Andy are on drugs? Its on Arsenals bloody own websire ffs that his leaving.

These AKB have got some bloodty rose titnted glasses, even the own Arsenal website is considered not true for them. The AKB and wenger have really lost theri marbles, its basiclly a free for all Arsenal players now, every player worth anythign is being sold of. I wouldnt be suprised to see RVP gone soon. the fact he only has 2 years left on his contract says it all. Him and theo are both stalling on signing new contracts. While the top players stall no signing, average players like diaby, dbendtanr, rosicky, squalliaci are foffered huge wages. It boggles te mind, how many of our top players have eben sold of every year since 2005, only to be replaced with kids, and then those kids are sold of. Its just become a viciuos circle.

so Nasri to City – done deal
with both the Fabregas & Nasri deals it took the possible inclusion in our european squads to end the long drawn-out saga’s…both Barca & City were afraid that they would become cup-tied…
clever business by City…yet again they have damaged their nearest opponents in their drive to the title
they destroyed the 6th place (at the time) Villa by getting Barry & Milner – nibbled at United with Tevez – undermined Everton with Lescott – Adebayor & Toure from us…and now have grabbed another 2
when money is no object they have been able to clear a pathway through their immediate opponents – whilst adding top quality from elsewhere
    like a creeping virus !
as for Nasri – wouldn’t you crawl over broken glass all the way to Eastlands for 9 million a year ?

  20. rocky says:

If this is true, then I think we should definitely play him. He played the role of Cesc against Liverpool last weekend, and I thought he had a few good runs and passes. He held our midfield together quite well.

Now we know that including him would probably drop 6/7million off his price to City, and the deal might even fall through. However, If we beat Udinese or hold out for a shaky draw, then we get the to the CL and we can earn 30million in revenue (extra 13mil if we win ;) and this would by far out weigh a few bob from Nasri’s fee if he does go. Although I hope he signs a contract extension, and leaves under better circumstances.

I think the men in white coats need to come and collect Wenger after his Basil Fawlty impression at the Em lst Saturday in the rain! There’s even a report in one of the dailies today, that he’s told Robin Van Persie that he isn’t buying any more players this term! If that’s so, then he needs certifying, and new boss brought in ASAP!

nasri staying or leaving makes no difference to arsenal FC this season, one player (not even messi) cannot sort out the mess Arsene Wenger has gotten us into this season… It will be interesting to see where AFC end up come may…. one things for sure, no trophy again this season

  30. Gunner4Life says:

Good riddance of Nasri. People are saying he played fantastic for Arsenal for a couple of seasons, but we all know he only came up good last season. I don’t respect Nasri, he’s just another Adebayor.
Cesc, Eboue will always be respected at Arsenal. They are legends in their own right even though we didn’t win anything with them. Cesc gave 8 great years to us, and his commitment never faltered. I guess it was time for him to return home. Eboue was a fantastic personality, his loss hurts much more than of the rest. He was the life of our team even though he wasn’t a starter.
Hopefully, some of the rumours we’ve been hearing will come true after tomorrows game. Kaka, M’Vila and Hazard would be fantastic additions to our squad, and hopefully Cahill or Samba can come in to. But I shouldn’t get my hopes high.
