Neven Subotic issues come-and-get-me plea
Borussia Dortmund’s powerful central defender Neven Subotic might become a future target for Arsenal if he manages to impress Arsene Wenger in the Champions League games.
Subotic, 22 years of age, has been playing for Borussia Dortmund since 2008 when he was brought in from Mainz at only 19 years old. He made his Bundesliga debut at only 18 years old at Mainz where he played 34 games in his first professional season ever.
Subotic declared he still wants to get higher in his footballer career, and declared: “A dream of mine is still to play in the Premiership. One day in the future I want to try myself out in that competition.” (The Week)
Giving the game Dortmund just played against Arsenal and the timing of the interview, this might even be a hint from the central defender towards Arsenal. Last time The Gunners played against Dortmund, Rosicky came aboard, and this time everybody expects and prays to be Gotze who comes from the German team, but I don’t think that anybody would mind if Subotic joins as well.
A central defender of his quality and strength would be a great asset for the club, especially given that Arsenal defenders are some of the most fragile ones around. Vermaelen is out again…he’s been playing for the infirmary more than for the first team sadly, and Djourou and Koscielny are usually alternatively out for a couple of weeks at a time.
Do you think that Subotic alongside perhaps Mertesacker or Vermaelen would be one of the best defenses in the Premier League?

cahill in djorou/miquel on loan (to PL league teams) n squillaci dead/retired n then we need to concentrate on finding a spark 2 the passing game it’s probably jack but 4 how long can we manage his abscence?? hazard would improve gervinho’s game (given their link), get walcott those striker his been begging 4 n add some real quality 2 ARSENAL F.C. not to mention a good replace 4 when gervinho goes 2 the african cup of nations, m’villa is another song n given that song will be gone in january with frimpong 2 african cup of wat’s its name n the only DM we have r unproven coquelin n injury prone diaby as well as our playmakers arteta(injury prone), jack wilshere (who i do not wanna c play holding mid) we’re f##ked otherwise n with all this depth i expect us to grap 80% of the points/wins in the run-in 2 the season

Can’t see Wenger spending anymore on his defence. He already bought in two players this year, two last year and one the year before.
Ideally Djourou would leave and a better player comes in but I’m guessing Wengers priorities now lie elsewhere.

Before the summer transfers began,arsenal fans cried out for 1 defender but now they want to see 2 more-hummels(26),cahill(25),subotic(22). Assuming we sell JD and squillaci,we’ll still ve 3 solid defenders in per,verm and kos: add any of the 2 new defenders,that makes it 5. Despite the competition it brings,3 of the 5 would ve to be on the bench sometimes,this will lead to players wanting to leave and distraction to the team. Do not forget we still ve bartley(21) and miguel(19) who re on a fast track to becoming solid defenders. I don’t think we need 2 defenders, maybe 1(cahill) but it won’t be a disaster if wenger doesn’t sign any defender.

Yes,defense you to sell people like Squillaci, Djourou, Miquel,etc and buy people like Subotic,Cahill, Baines, Chris Samba,Diego Lugano,Luke Young,Scott Dann, Schmelzer, Zubar,Afellaini,Brede Hangeland,Luke Young,etc.

Get Cahill on a pre contract so he is free and Montolivo as well. If we had 3 quality CBs and let squallici go along with either Djourou or Koscienly. I think it would be hard to keep 4 centre backs happy but I won’t complain if we had got Cahill and Subotic. I’d like to see Granero come in in January as well as Fellaini. Our squad size is usually good its just the players aren’t good enough. Also we need a creative midfielder! Either Hazard or Gotze not sure which is better!

We would have to sell squid first before any more defenders come in and if it’s Subotic I’d sell Djourou cuz Kos is better and our 4 CB’s would be Per, Verm, Subotic and Kos sounds like a trophy winning back line to me but we’ll also need to improve the midfield Gotze!!!

when you wrote this artcile was it before or after Per metersacker being bought ? cause i see you actually didnt mention him.. any reasons why? or it your way of whipping up a storm.. once we have veremalen back we have 5 (adding squallaci offcourse ) able bodied defenders who are battle ready with premiership experience so i dont know where you want to put subotic ..ahead of per or verminator or KOS ?

For christ’s sake why dont u guys EVER MENTION DE NEED FOR TOP-CLASS STRIKER! Esp since Walcot & RVP ARE CONSTANTLY DEMANDN FOR ONE 2 ASSIST RVP!Gervinho is a midfielder,Park is NOT a thru & thru Top striker,and Shamack IS SIMPLY USELESS! I very much doubt if Wenger will spnd again But if he can afford JUST 3 ADDITNS: 1) A CD-Cachill OR Subotic. 2)A PLAYMAKER in de MIDFIELD-Hazard, M’Villa or Goezte.

Arsenal needs the following:
LB – to play every time Gibbs will be injured (Unsure about Santos)
RB – No.2 to alleviate and add competition for Sagna (unconvinced by jenkinson)
DM – Frimpong looks the business, Song is mint – M’vila would be good to play DM, Or CM
CAM/CM – Hamsik to play with Wilshere and Ramsay
LW – Hazard or to play CAM when Gervinho is on the pitch
ST – Jovetic a risk with that injury, but still quality.

I dont think nothr defendr is necessary 4 us.and also nothr CDM is not reqd coz Song is doing a good job and also frimpong will only improve as he is young..
We need a real quality in midfield 4 future. I wqtchd champions league and impressd by Gotze & Hamsik. I will b happy 2 get any1 of them in january.
Anothr gud addition will b Dempsy,he is premier league experinced and very cheap than Hazard or any othr1 we are discussing.. thats done.. with these additions I hope we can challenge 4 the title.
