New Arsenal Left-Back Triallist Tipped For The Top
The Oman international Saad-Al Mukhaini has arrived for a trial at Arsenal this week, and his fellow countryman Ali A Habsi believes the 24 year-old has all the qualities to become a star for the Gunners.
The Wigan keeper told Sport360°: “I always said there was talent in Oman. When people start playing in the Premier League like I have then everyone starts looking at what is there and hopefully more will come through in the future. We have many talented players who just need someone to show them the rest of the world and give them a chance.
“This reminds me of when I first left and had trials and tried to make my career. It’s not easy, but you have to profit when you get a chance like this and believe in yourself and have the confidence.
“Saad is fast and strong and he likes to train hard and learn. Hopefully he will do well. I told him Arsenal are a top team and not many get this kind of chance. I wish him all the luck and said, ‘do your best, show what you can do and the rest is with Allah’. He’s a young talent and this is a great chance for him.”
Arsene Wenger’s friend (and former PSG, Lyon and Rangers manager) Paul Le Guen is the one that has recommended Al-Mukhaini to Wenger, and he also speaks very highly of the defender. He said: “I think Saad is one of the best players in the country and he can play in a big league.
“I had a chat with Wenger some time back and he seemed interested in calling him. I cannot say how much Saad is ready mentally for making it in a big league, but I know football enough and I believe he can. He has to adapt and compete with great players.”
So he may be unknown over here, but at least he comes highly recommended. Perhaps he is exactly what Arsenal need right now?

All we can do is wait and see. I hope Wenger realizes the importance of this signing, because we need solid defenders. We need players who are ready to step up to the plate and go the extra mile for their club. Let’s hope the Wigan keeper is right about Mukhaini being fast and strong. We have too many slow pokes in our squad. We have Santos who has great anticipation and drive going forward, back lacks speed to backtrack. We have Jenkinson who tires hard but also lacks speed. Mertesacker, although his position doesn’t really require him to be the fastest in the league, he too is sluggish. Miquel too is not the quickest. At the moment we rely too heavily on Kossie and Verminator for speed, we do need another defender to keep up with wingers like Bale.

Good for this guy, but he’s been playing in Oman for his entire career, there is no way he’ll be ready for the Premier League for at least a month. If I was AW, I would still sign this guy (as it’s for free), and Cissoko because our left-back situation is truly desperate, and we need someone with talent who has played against English clubs before. Or Abidal, as he has tons of experience, but he’s 32, so would be a bit of a waste of a signing…

I think this will be a better transfer than Aly Sissokho. sissokho is very good, and mukhaini sounds good. But arsenal already have Gibbs and Santos. when they are fit, what will we do with sissokho? this will be a great transfer, i believe

Sell him at first available chance. The swans passing stats are better than arsenals this season. Tough game. C’om the gunners.

Hey, we haven’t even seen the guy play yet! A trial doesn’t hurt anyone. He’s not signing a contract with Arsenal unless he’s a proven talent. Lets give the lad a chance to make it. He could be really good. We can’t prejudge and discriminate. Al Habsi has had a terrific time in the EPL and who was to predict?

Szczesny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Wilshere, Song, Van Persie are the only players worthy of being a regular in the starting line-up. That means we need a new left-back, attacking cental-midfield player and two wide attacking midfielders/strikers, not even mentioning seven quality substitutes! In other words we have to buy 11 players in various positions that are better than what we have already got and apart from the odd young player with potential such as Miquel, Coquelin and Oxlade-Chamberlain, we have to sell or loan out (preferably sell!) something like 17 or 18 players! The only way that could happen is to make a fresh start with new owners who are willing to invest and a new manager with fresh ideas. There’s no other way. Top 4 this season? We’re having a laugh!

i guess AW should buy really left back in case of sunday games against man united b/s we don’t want another loss again please AW is either you need to fuck your way from arsenal this time, we are not happy with you wenger six year without silverware, last time your talking about lukaz podolski, mario goetz, hazard, kaka,de jong, kalu, alex, cahrill, baines, now if your good thinker you can bring baines from everton can help arsenal from free kick you see a team without gud free kick taker Wenger you’ve come to kill arsenal.
Gunners till the end of the world
