Nitesh: An Arsenal win today will prove the Wenger doubters TOTALLY WRONG!

Posted on December 18, 2011 by admin

Arsenal travel to the Etihad stadium on Sunday hoping to carry on Chel$ea’s for-once good work. Man City’s defeat on Monday laid to rest to all comparisons with the Invincibles, and we should be able to continue on our recent good form. 22 points from the last 24, that’s not a stat to be dismissed eh?

We are currently 9 points behind them, and a win would well and truly put us back into the title picture. No one would have thought that two months back, but that just goes to show the good work put in by our players. Now can we go one step further and really drill it into their heads with a victory? Can Arsenal find its best form at the right time and announce itself as a major contender for the big trophies this term?

Our squad has suffered its usual lot of injuries, with Sagna, Wilshere, Jenkinson, Santos all falling prey to long-term ones. Wilshere is expected back sometime soon in the New year, while Sagna and Santos have been ruled out for most of the season. But now, it somehow looks like Arsene could well have a full and fit squad to choose from, a big rarity in fact. Everything looks on the up, and I bloody well hope I didn’t just jinx it…..

A victory against the league leaders would be a great boost for any Gooner out there, especially the true ones who stood by the team through the rough start to the season. It looks like the players are actually enjoying their football now, playing it for the fans who turn up to watch them every day.

One game doesn’t prove anything either way. I really hope we win but if we lose, it doesn’t mean we are crap as it’s away to the league leaders same as if we win it doesn’t mean we great. The only way to judge a team is by where it finishes at the end of the season NOT by a one off result.

we are the one team that city fear and last season proved it and why, they know they can tear us to shreds but they also know we can return the favour. the chelsea game sent out a warning that if you leave yourself open and go tit for tat arsenal are still the most dangerous team in the league.

if we conceed we will just have to throw the kitchen sink at it and then anything can happen, the 8-2 loss against united should really of been 6-6 if you watch it again. are best chance to win may well be to declare all out war!

    4-3 to the gunners!

Yah Yah is Manager fault to let these players go, if every players take the pay check offered by Man sitty and knock on the door for a match. And if manager surrender, we might as losing RVP because we already paying Na$sri 190k perweek, Ade 200k perweek, Clincy 100k perweek and others players. We will not have any left for RVP.

i definately agree with the comments of NickW. I don’t know which way the game will go. But I really hope and pray that we win. Yes absolutely if we loose this does not mean that our team is crap.

Well I just heard the documentary today on the sky sports very nice one it said, that it isn’t that how much you pay to buy the excellent players however it does matter how the team unites together understand each other and play well together. Take an example of Torress being bought for 50M and hasn’t proved as yet anything moving to Chelsea.

Let’s just pray and keep the fingers crossed that we win. And also how the players go on the ground if they are positive than surely we can win this game if we loose do not get upset and there are plenty of games to be played and anything can happen.

Everybody is going to slip somethere even MAN U and MAN C Tottenham mark my word. I did say about MAN C and I was right.

If we win – which I pray we will – it will NOT erase the mistakes made by Wenger in the last year or two …. which not many Arsenal fans would have made. For example … Summer 2010 : experienced goalkeeper / defensive midffielder / central defender. Blind to youngsters … hence wrong balance between youth and experience. Ignoring wrong balance between attack / defence ; set piece / open play. One game plan only / nil tactics. The list goes on.

About Djourou and Arshavin…no comments…disasters.Time to buy a creative midfielder, all we have are midfielders who are passing the ball behind,no one is able of going forward and making a dribble, except Song .Like always,Wenger is making the changes too late, everybody saw that we play with 3 dead-hands from the beginning-Ramsey,Walcott,Djourou.

some of the lads didn’t have the best game, but all in all we looked dangerous up front.
still we have the probelms in the back and in the midfield.
Ramsey is not bad, he’s just inconsistent. He needs to be played from the bench.
Hold your breath-just 6 more weeks and we’ll have sagna and jack back and we’ll be on top form for ac milan.
just 2 thing to think about:
    1. I presonally can’t wait for Shitty to come to the emirates. I honestly think we’ll beat the S*** out of them.

You guys saying that rosicky would do a better job than Ramsey is complete blasphemous. Rosicky is one of the dead woods we need to get rid off! Along with chamack, arshavin, etc.. The lost goes down to injuries. With proper fullbacks we would have at least gotten a point. Koscielny was having a great game at cb. To move him to rb was a gamble that didnt pay off. Walcott, Ramsey, gervinho, and arteta played below par. While most ofthe manchester players played one of their greatest games of the season. It was just one of those games..

im not a dreamer i no we need enforcements in jan and some players either need kicking up the ass or kicking outa the club, but for the love of god this was city away and we gave um the best game theyve had all season and just think how far this team has come in the last few months. i just dont understand what you lot are expecting. are there no fans with any sense to back me up here?

Totally agree with you. Overall a good game by the guys. People here a frustrated because of the result and because it severly damaged our title chances.
    BUT
do not forget where this team was 4 months ago.
do not forget people were talking about relegation while if we continue showing these kind of games we WILL finish at least second place
do not forget that there are still titles to fight for in this season.
If we show this spirit and fighting, we can go very very far in both FA cup and CL.
The game today could have gone either way, and playing like this away – there is no team in europe that should feel safe playing against us, not AC Milan, and not even Barca.
Keep your heads up, be prous AND SUPPORT THE TEAM!

This is a TEAM game and if we didnt have a team, do you think we would have matched the team bought for millions and millions of oil money?
We should have had a penalty for handball at least, but Arteta was also lucky to stay on the field.
Dont blame the ref though as today we were just a little short – imagine when Wilshere, Sagna, Santos, Jenkinson and Diaby back in the squad – the futures bright aand we will be there or thereabouts in the league, champions league and cup,

I reckon that the lads had a stand up game, especially Arteta, Szczesny and Vermaelen. Are we forgetting that City are unbeaten there for 27 games? It was a very encouraging performance.

But let’s be real, we are 3 points off Chelsea, will be 8 points off Tottenham, 10 points off Utd and 12 off City. We’ve got a lot of solid work which needs to be done in the next half of the season to get into the top 4, let alone the title. But there are a few things on our side: all of the big teams (bar L’pool) are going to come to the Emirates; we have 3 first XI players to come back soon and, most of all, we have experience in this as a seasoned CL team. I reckon that we can do it.

“Maybe we will have some opportunities because we are in a good financial situation” Well Wenger it’s blindingly obvious we need a top class left-back (better than the two we’ve got) creative central midfielder (at the same level as Jack Wilshere at his best) and a top striker to complement Robin Van Persie. So if you really care about our club and you want us to be seriously challenging for all the major honours every season… BUY: Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Mario Gotze and Lukas Podolski in January. Just pay the going rate for God’s sake and stop messing about. We’ve got the money as you keep on saying. So SPEND IT! It’s not your money, it’s the CLUBS! And while you’re at it… SELL Almunia, Squillaci, Djourou, Arshavin and Chamakh in January and Denilson and Bendtner in the summer and loan out Jenkinson, Gibbs and Frimpong to give them experience.

ok we lost today but try to put it in to context, the reason why im so happy is this team finally has lost the fear they used to play with (even with fab and nas) and are finally starting to believe, no longer does this team roll over or fall apart when they go behind. the performance today shows this team is so very very close to being great again, and i for one am allot more optamistic about a top 4 finish and future success than i was before the game, yes we lost the game but i think we gained allot more as a team with the display.

Arsene is the most successful manager in our history, ask the untouchables what he did for them.
But of course you know better than the likes of Henry, Vieria,Adams etc.
Arsene has said he will buy in January but only exceptional players.- whats wrong with that?
We all know that there is some deadwood players at the club but be careful wwhat you wish for (eboue would be great for us right now).
Lost our first premier game in eight matches and once again the knives are out.
People like dickhead (how dare you use Berkamp as part of your name)want Arsene out and say go out and buy all the players under the sun.
Ever heard of Leeds, Portsmouth, Luton? Clubs run into the ground by reckless spending – go on D/Head support them and make my day. By the way, ever been to the Emirates in real life????

one thing that makes no sense is that wenger has always had faith in rosicky, and this season whenever he has played he has looked really sharp and hungry and yet wenger is going outa his way not to risk playing him even though tiered players like ramsey are crying out for a break, the only reason i can think off to exsplain this is rosicky is going in jan as bait to bring someone in and wenger is going outa his way to make sure he dont get injured.

i just cant get my head round it unless he needs rosicky fit and ready to exchange, as if it was just a straight sale he would surley wait till the summer or not be fussed. maybe im reading into it to much but if rosicky is fit wenger always gives him gametime even last season when his form was terrible, rosicky plus cash for podolski or maybe goetze? something is going on there of that im 100% certain!!! or rosicky would surely be seeing more time on the pitch!

I am proud of the Arsenal team. We may have lost but i think city will be asking themselves more questions over their win. They have so many highly rated forwards who could not get more than one goal against us. It shows that we have improved defensively. I just wonder if they would have been able to contain Arsenal if we had Santos and Sagna in the starting 11 while TV5 and Kosc/Mert paired in the center of our defence?

The game is now water under the bridge and now we march to Villa park.

Far from being happy with a few performances, let’s look at a few things.

Song as usual was clumsy and the ref was overly harsh so early on but he played 80mins on a yellow and against there midfield for me was one of our best players.

    Keeper was class.

    TV5 was immense.

Kos was great until he switched to right back, fish out of water, was nowhere when Balotelli made the run that led to the goal. So until then was up there with TV5.

Per had a good day at the office but the ball went back more than it went forward. He’s getting better.

Johann was ok at right back this time, was 0-0 when he went off. Did what he had to do without any protection from the woeful Walcott.

Ramsey, runs all day but was chasing shadows. Totally outclassed by Man City.

Arteta, plays the short pass well but gave the strikers nothing to go after. Was so so but then again we cant expect alot more from what we have seen for years playing so so for Everton. Again outclassed.

Walcott, is either hit or miss. When it’s miss, he looks like a pub player.

Gervinho, looks like a 10 year old playing with adults. No body strength, he can’t even fight Silva or Nasri off. Would snap in a gentle breeze. Has skill but no appreciation of the team game. Has a lot to learn.

RVP was too isolated. Held the ball up well and did what he could.

    Then the mystifying bit….

Chamakh, Arshavin…….no Alex Ox? No Benayoun, No Park, no Rosicky, surely these guys have more form than Chamakh or Arshavin?

    What’s going on there?

He has a certain arrogance with his failures and a provocative smile when he misses chances… He does not deserve to wear the Arsenal shirt anymore.

The defeat is Wenger fault ( again )…. We can be unlucky, but the coach is not helping his team, our team….
The defence was made of 4 CB…!!! Only at Arsenal things like that happen…!!!
Wenger has reach the ridicule and he is going to take us with him…
He has already said that he will not buy anybody in January because Wilshere ( good news ), Diaby ( waist of space ), Sagna ( great news ) and Gibbs ( another waist of space ) were back.

Tottenham won their game and I am getting tired of seeing them third in the league…!!!

Chamack, diaby, squillaci, djoruou, almunia, and many times rosicky make Arsene wenger look bad.

But the only problem he’s got is his patience with these crappy players, they simply cannot fit the premier league, not even almunia made it with the relegated west ham.Maybe rosicky is ok, but having rosicky and benayoun makes no sense is either rosicky or benayoun bu having both is just stupid.

@H I thought Gervinho was actually the only one who looked dangerous going forward. He caused a lot of problems for City.

I agree with you on Ramsey. He is not on the same level as Silva and co. I would sell him to Inter Milan I think it was who are interested, and buy Gotze.

What upset me the most is Wenger’s choice of substitutions. Arshavin is hopeless and has lost any sort of enthusiasm for his club. Also Chamakh. What difference does he think he will make bringing him on? I like the guy but he isn’t such a great player.

We just have to admit we were out classed by City. We cannot compete with hundreds of millions of pounds spent on world class players. I wish the board would take their fingers out there arses and see that sometimes you have spend a bit to get results. It’s not like we cannot sell some players to generate funds for new and better ones.

Anyway I would have been happy with a draw. We must just focus on the top 4 now and also the CL. Who knows what might happen there. Arsenal are still a great team and deserve a top 4 place!

After the game yesterday we could see how average Aaron Ramsey is against team like Citeh, Manure, Chelski. What we need is super quality midfielder.(Combative and never say never attitude plus creativity. The only dangerous threat we made is through Gervinho. Walcot should have done more when we meet Big Boy of BPL. Defensively the back four need the midfield to support when under attack. Surely RVP need a hand went scoring a goal. Please Wenger go and buy quality player. Sadly nostalgic went we lost Juan Mata to Chelski. He is a good player with winning attitude.

Why are most of you so intent on just slagging off our players?
We were a little unlucky today. We had most possession, should have had a penalty, Dowd gave us F all and Hart played out of his skin. Djourou went off with another injury and will be missing for weeks. Yes Ramsey missed a couple of chances and Arshavin too but overall we played well, especially second half. A great game spoilt by poor reffing and bad luck and now reading most of your shitty comments has really made it a bad day for me.

It was a brave effort by Arsenal, we don’t look like an away side. But despite how hard some players work and try to impress, it just shows the lack of quality against a star-sided team like Man City, especially on the attack.

We have enough transfer budget to ship in talented players we need to put ourselves in firm position to challenge with top ability at all fronts. 50M is what we’ve been told. Use them Wenger, at least half of it this January for a fine signing. We can’t last till the end of the campaign with the current team. A good signing will also show our current players ambition.

City were out on their feet at the end. The whingeing brigade are back out in force. I thought we traded blow for blow and were unlucky not to get something out of the game. Ramsey is being asked to play one of the most difficult roles and gives his all. We had our second reserves as full backs..not first reserves and that told over 90 minutes. Arshavin is unfortunately a shadow of the player we signed and either does not want to play or has totally lost his confidence. The plus sides are that we have a truly world class goalkeeper to go with Vermaalen and Van Persie. Once again Theo fell short in the big game, however his defensive qualities have improved massively. Koscielney had a great game and looks the part now. Play like that against AC Milan and we will go through..we were unlucky.

Yes guys we played our hearts out and gave them a good run for their money. They missed many chances but so did we. I think the two best keepers in the league were on the pitch, our Polecat saved us plenty. I cannot believe how agile Joe Hart is. He had an outstanding game. In fact all their players had a good game.

When you look at the amount of money spent on their players vs ours, I think we did very well. I mean they are a team with an almost limitless budget, Mancini was able to pick and choose as he pleased to build a dream squad. Where as Wenger has had to work with youth and panic buys. Not bad going if you ask me.

Now imagine Wenger with a similar budget to work with. Arsenal would be invincible. Just wish the board would see this and part with the profits they are back pocketing and give the Prof something to work with this Jan. It is obvious we need more quality in our team if we wish to win anything ever again.

See what I mean by some arsenal fans. We win, you dick ride every player… We lose you start cussing. I’ll admite ramsey is more of a come off the bench sort of player due to his rubbish vision but still a brilliant player though and wenger can’t afford to bench him when he’s the welsh captain At a young age. Don’t want to damage his chances and confidence. Atleast he tracks back and help defend. One thing that angers me is when people don’t use walcott enough. They pass to him when he has 3 players on him but when he’s free, he gets nothing. Twice persie could havE given walcott the ball but didn’t and ramsey could have passed to walcott who was on side but picked off side persie. I know they want persie to keep scoring, but its a team game. Don’t rely on one player so much. That’s what man city did with tevez last season. No one deserved to win that game because both goalkeepers deserved a cleansheet. Plus think about it guys, two london clubs made things hArd for man city especially us. They struggled with our kids and struggled more with us. Remember guys…. Wenger is only playing chamahk and ARSESHavIN because he needs to sell them asap and needs ppl to come n take them off him. But in truth, wenger should have played ox, rosicky and benayoun because they all have a brilliant technique. Ox would have kept the pace up a bit…. Rosicky defends even better and can link passes better than ramsey and benayoun got a brilliant movement on the ball. But wenger needs to prepaare for jan properly. Don’t make another silly mistake and not sign when u have the money. Screw the other player’s feelings. If they wanna win, that improve at trainning and word hard on the pitch. We need a left back, att mid and one more attacker. We need to bulk up for champs league. We can’t afford to lose games to injuries and cause we didn’t sign decent back ups. I love this new arsenal…. Defends better…. More focused, hard working and stronger. And we need to get even stronger. We need to get our revenge on evert critics, clubs and gloryhunters. The team needs to make wengger proud by giving him a trophy and wenger needs to make his arsenal fan worldwide proud by helping us to laugh at other football club fans by winning a trophy. But like I said, good game boys and I was proud of them. No one can say we deserve to lose cause we didn’t. Btw…. I still think our goal keeperer will be among the best in the world next year

I think we’re up there as we showed yesterday against City. We competed for the whole 90 mins and the last couple would have had City fans biting their nails. I still think the comment of ‘proving wenger critics wrong’ is stupid, as even if we had beat City the critics would still exist.

If anything, that game established Koscielny & Miquel are CB’s and their positioning errors lead to the goal. We do need cover for RB & LB in the window.

On another plus we looked dangerous and always couldve come back into the game.

We deserved at least a point out of that game! At least! I was so proud of the fighting spirit of our boys. I’ll take a minute to run through some player ratings : Szczesny – 9 – WOW, what a goalkeeper! He made some truly top drawer saves, eg the one from Aguero. He just oozes confidence and class. Djourou – 7 – I think he did ok. We must remember he was playing out of position. He started a bit shaky, giving away a sloppy pass, but he grew into the game, and made some nice interceptions. Shame about his injury, it unsettled our defence. Mertesacker – 7 – He was solid. Made countless headers out of our box, and I believe he’s now settling into the English game. Koscielny ( or Bosscielny! ) – 8 – One of our best players in the match. He kept Aguero in his pocket for most of the match, and he’s very good at bringing the ball out of defence. Vermaelen – 9 – the VERMINATOR was at it again! Great at defending, and he would have scored if it wasn’t for Joe Hart, who decided to have a great game. Song – 7.5 – put out fires all over the pitch, but was unlucky to receive a yellow card from a ref who was so poor.
Arteta – 7 – He gritted his teeth, and he tried for the team. He kept us ticking along, and his passing was nice.
Ramsey – 6 – I feel so sorry for Rambo. He ran his heart out yesterday, but he must lacked a certain spark. Walcott – 5 – Oh, Theo, Theo, Theo. Why can’t you play like you did at Chelsea every week! He drifted out of the game, and Zabaleta had him well marked. His defence has improved tremendously, though.
Van Persie – 8 – Captain Vantastic should have scored with a delightful chip, but it was harshly ruled offside. I was getting scared when he stayed down injured, but he was thankfully fine.
Gervinho – 7 – I thought he was our main attacking threat. Decision making needs to improve, but it will, and I’d rather have him in my team than Na$ri. Elz. Gooner till I die.

WOW Guys I am so happy with some of the comments being made. You are right that we should support the team the boys did well.

One of the comments was so accurate that they had to put up a fight with our team. Look at the money they paid for the players compare to ours.

It is three points and yes absolutely other teams are going to drop the points. Look at Chealsea win against MAN C dropping points agains Wigan.

This is going to happen but let’s just support our team and I can see definately the trophy coming in if they play like what they did.

We will soon have our best players back and I know we can do it. We have to be patience I know it’s been 6YRS but we are soon going to have the trophy.
