Park Chu-Young Deal Means No Chance For Hazard
Rumours are flying that Arsenal are about to sign South-Korea captain and striker Park Chu-Young. The 26-year-old is thought to be in London for a medical and would be a surprise signing for the Gunners.
Although fans will welcome the addition of a striker they may be disappointed that this almost certainly rules out a move for Eden Hazard. This is because Park Chu-Young was about to move from Monaco to Lille, where he had already completed one medical test.
He was going to take another medical but never showed up and is thought to be in London. Since Arsenal are hijacking this player from Lille they will be unlikely to sell Eden Hazard to them.
The BBC reports that Lille are baffled about the situation. Lille president Michel Seydoux said: “From what we understand he could be at Arsenal. Like Monaco, Lille are baffled. Everything had been agreed”.
At the very least Gunners fans will be satisfied that Chu-Young is an experience player, but they are sure to be looking forward to the addition of a defender and a midfielder as well.

Hazard was over priced anyway.
There are other top quality attacking midfielders out there. Yoann Gourcuff and Marvin Martin come to mind. I prefer Gourcuff. He is top quality and best of all, he isn’t cup tied with Lloyn just yet.
I would love for Arsene to go all out with this one.

Hazard and Lille both had already said he wasn’t going anywhere, so the Park-chu-yong deal had no effect on the outcome of Hazard. But it might have effects on future dealing with Lille. by the way…I implore all of you to watch some videos of Park Chu Yong, he is absolutely fantastic, and exactly what we need in the final 3rd. 2 or 3 more signings to go.

Easy to say if hazard did sign for arsenal then in couple of seasons he would have made his name in England and more throughout Europe, then he would be sold on for probably double we paid for him, to man city no doubt! We need these players who want to play for afc, park seems to be an accomplished player with a good finish, let’s hope he can fit in. I believe that is not clever to sacrifice the possibility of signing a top quality player who is already very good and is only going to get better for a player who is worth a fraction of the price and who will probably be required to do military service in 2 years. Eden Hazard is worth it!!!

we still need an attacker who can score when VP goes out injured again. Samir and Cesc did it last year from the midfield, and I haven’t seen anything in Jack W to say he can score that many. I think we could be in trouble if someone doesn’t come in

of what i’ve seen of him he seems to only have a bad record because he has only got average players around him at Monaco.
Unlike Messi he isn’t a 1 man team he needs players around him.

To be honest from watching a few clips i cannot tell whether the player is good or not, because of course they will highlight his best but is he really that good ? I believe there are great players in Asia and Korea as well, they run a lot and we need a player that gives himself on the field, and we do need more signings even if not the best at the moment we need new names, maybe this will lift the spirit a little and at least show some ambition… But i still believe Jagielka + Baines + “put another player here” are definitely needed and certainly hope some are brought in otherwise bad…

Park is ok. But he’ll only be a backup for RVP. If given a choice bet Hazard & Park, definitely Hazard. If we have Hazard, even RVP injured, we can still use Walcott, Gervinho upfront which still effective. Then have Ryo/AOC/ playing wings.

Most of the time when clubs dont want to sell they just dont even interact with the aggresors hopeing by not encouraging the advances they will go away. The representitives from lille are talking and the same applies with Coyle they will sell but want to drive up the price or create interest. So that being said hazard is up for grabs at the rite price wenger may have done the cagey thing nd agreed to buy later even some written aggreement who knows where hazard stays and plays until January or the end od the season they cant be left treadbear themselves can they. Whatever the case goucuff is an interesting option and nothing is off the table just be patient and it will all be revealed

Park is pure class, he is a much more skilled version of Park Ji-Sung; and I for one would love to welcome any player with a work of that calibre to the Arsenal. Also, if Gary Cahill’s performance today, at Anfield, is any indication of his mindset, I would say that he is unsettled by the Gunner’s interest and keen on a move away from the Reebock.
With Park signed up and Cahill hopefully (Wenger offered peanuts so we’ll see; the players desire is there Im sure) on his way to North London, all that leaves is the question of our injury depleted midfield. I have heard rumors of a $35 million bid for Eden Hazard but I highly doubt the plausibility of such a claim considering that Wenger just hijacked Lille’s deal for the South Korean: Park.
I have heard the Shweinsteiger rumors, just like everyone else, but lets be real here people. Bastian would require a minimum bid of $30 million and if Arsenal so much as began sniffing around the big German, moneybags and god knows who else would mount up mega offers that would easily trump Wengers’ valuation.
Realistically, M’villa is a possibility, although he will likely cost 20 million pounds or so and while he is talented, to be sure, he doesn’t answer our prayers for a new playmaker.
So, we’ll see. I think Park will surprise many with his quality and once some of our guys get off the treatment table we can challenge for a top 4 finish.
With that said, I would love to see Cahill and Hazard arrive, although i think the likelihood of Wenger doling out the cash is questionable at best.

It matters not if that kind of player isn’t fed the ball in the first place! We NEED a creative midfielder and time is running out. I’m not saying Hazard is the guy … matter of fact – there are other players out there for the money Lille are trying to get from us for him. Funny how people get stuck on a single player once his name is in the mix, and we feel that we must have him. Not saying Hazard isn’t great – he’s a phenomenal player! BUT, he’s not the only one out there. Let’s keep in mind – LILLE DONT WANT TO SELL HIM!! It’s like trying to get Messi from Barca; at the right price (prob £70mil+) they may sell him … but are they even entertaining the idea – No. Same with Hazard. Lille do not want to let him go. Obviously if the price is so good that it would be stupid to turn it down, then yes – they will. But you would have to say that for the price that would be (£30 mil+), then there are certainly other options.
So with all that in mind – screw Lille. If the offer was better than ours, Park would sign with them, and not give us a second thought. Obviously Arsenal is a better offer for this guy, so he’s doing what is best for him – as in all transfer players – they do what is best for them. but what we need is to find that midfielder and CB asap. That’s where the key is for us this season. Who know’s maybe (just as ‘out of nowhere’ the Park deal seems) we will have the couple/few players we need by Wednesday.

This is really funny the way fans are calling the sack on Wenger. Once upon the premier league, the only team that could compete with Man U without buying the league was Arsenal all because of Wenger. Even Alex Ferguson said it that Wenger has done so well. The truth is our billionaire owners unlike Chelsea and Man City are not putting their own money which to me is nothing bad. Arsenal is working hard to make profit and use the same profit to run the business and this profit is marginal compared to Man Utd and the revenue they make overseas. They and Real M have the largest fan base in the world. This is why we did our preseason in Asia to also get the Asian market to our credit and increase revenue which will helps us to start getting our choice players.
Chelsea with all their spending could not keep coaches and if success has to do with experience then Ferguson who has been consistent in a team longer will always win not because of who he bought but because of how he learns from the mistakes in the past. Remember he was almost sacked too. The next manager to match him and have always been his rival is the Professor (not called a Professor for nothing). We need to back our team in good times and bad times.

This guy is brilliant.
I’ve seen him in a few games over the years and he is a great team player and with the Arsenal players around him he will score plenty of goals.
And I find it funny that people are complaining that he has 0 assists last season.

Before Wennger came Arsenal were a good team, mid table, winning a cup here and there.

The best thing that has happened for Arsenal is Arsene Wenger, no other manager that I can think of would have done as good of a job as Wenger, with the funds that he has had available….. not even Alex Ferguson. All managers around the world rely on a cheque book to improve their team but not Wenger because he is a great manager and he won manager of the decade….isn’t that enough for you doubters?

I love watching fans write “Buy PROVEN players!” or “We are sick of Wenger buying Cheap UNPROVEN players”. These people are fools. They then quote we have lost our 2 best players – Fab & Nasri. Were either of those “PROVEN” when they came to Arsenal? Wenger is smart. He has repeatedly said – If the player is worth it, he’ll pay. This doesn’t mean he’ll throw money around unnecessarily. He will still look for value. These same fans would become bankrupt if they won the Lotto one day. Because instead of being wise with their cash, they would simply squander it. So whenever Wenger sees an opportunity, he buys. Just because a player has a £3/5mil price tag, doesn’t mean they are a sub standard player. It could be that other clubs have not realised the potential of the player, so don’t (and here’s the important word) VALUE the player. Wenger is good at spotting those players. (Albeit occasionally, he too gets it wrong – but unfortunately he is not God, so like the rest of us, may make some mistakes in this). Overall, Wenger has proven himself. So people should maybe THINK a little about why Wenger does what he does, instead of demanding he should unnecessarily blow the budget on 1 player.
With all this in mind, hopefully he’s not afraid to take some risk in paying a little more for the players we need. Unfortunately the laws of economics are against us with the window so close to an end. When demand is high, and sellers are low, the price will go up, and if we really want to buy, it may cost more than it would with time. THIS is actually where Arsenal have missed the mark a little. We should have bought earlier – but there are probably other factors at play )the board etc) that maybe didn’t permit Wenger doing this until the sales of Fab & Nasri were complete, but who knows.
