Park Scores Twice Again For Korea – Why Does He Not Get A Look In At Arsenal?
In his last three international appearances for Korea Chu Young Park has scored six times, but he still struggles to even get a place on the bench at Arsenal. Is now the time to unleash him on the Premier League?
Yesterday he helped himself to two goals in the second half against Poland, two goals that showed what a cool finisher he is. The first was a great right footed shot on the turn from about eight yards which he blasted into the net, and the second was a quality finish from the edge of the box which he just stroked under the advancing keeper without even thinking, this time with his left foot.
If you haven’t seen the goals yet catch them on You Tube, you will then see for yourself what a quality finisher he really is.
Is it time for Arsene Wenger to swallow his pride and play a 4-4-2 formation to make room for Park? It would certainly take the pressure of Robin van Persie up front. The tried and tested Arsenal way hasn’t exactly produced the results so far this season.

everyone keeps asking why ryo, oxo, and park arent getting a look in, the answer is simple! the media is out to destroy us and the fans are not backing and supporting the team and its players.
wenger will not send these players out like lambs to the slaughter as it could destroy there confidence before they even start. jenkinson is testiment to this as after only a few outings most fans want this young lads head on a stick! its disgusting and makes me ashamed to be a gooner.
Dont think for one second if oxo or park had a few bad games the fans wouldnt turn on them too! only one bad performance is enough for adam kemp to rite a player of and condem them to the lower leagues, in short wenger is protecting these players and i make him rite. maybe wenger will start blooding these players when the fans remember how to start supporting again!

because Wengers always right don’t forget! I think he’s scared if he changes the formation he might actually win a game, rather than continue to drag us through the dirt.

@toby I understand where you’re coming from, although the thing is it would be fine to shelter the new guys and slowly usher them into games, but this relies entirely on having a strong first team.
The lack of strength in depth forces Wengers into playing new unproven players, and at the end of the transfer window the only new exiting talent we were meant to be raving about don’t feature.
We look flat in games, and unable to score. When we see our own players doing this for their countries and not for us… well its frustrating.
I totally agree with you though, and people outing Jenkinson should be ashamed. You can compare him to Phil Jones and see he is under performing in comparison, but Jones has had 2 seasons with Blackburn where as Jenkinson had a handful of starts for Charlton in the Championship. He needs time, although with the injury to Sagna…. looks like Wengers hand has been forced once again.

We have players like Park and Oxlade Chamberlain who are really showing their quality when they are not playing for Arsenal. Surely Wenger should be playing these guys considering the lack of depth that we have in our team in the moment. Because of this lack of depth, I think the best formation to play is a 3-5-2, but even this leaves us exposed at the back. I have already said how I believe that midfield is where we are lacking a spark (Arteta is the closest to that at the moment), but considering the amount of goals we conceed, another formation might be the 4-4-1-1.

I think too many read what the media says and takes it as gospel.
For a start,Jenkinson has done fine so far.
He’s s baby.
Compared him to Jones……one cost a million,one cost about twenty times as much!
For about the 50th time,none of you even wanted Ox or Park a month ago,now listen to everyone waffling on about them.
Who found them……it wasn’t the media,that’s for sure.
Stop believing their drivel,get off Wengers back and start supporting the club.

I actually don,t know what to say about the team,but please can we ask AW? But what i we going to ask me,he is confused man now,he has lost grip of the team.Diarra against flamini,and buying of players late after the EPL commenced really affect us.German,French,and other league are differs to EPL so what do we expect from those players he bought,Samba is there,but he refuse…….Ox,and Park in good but refuse also to see them.Am really having sleepless night on the critical issue,please Arsene think twice.

wenger selects players according to their status not how they perform. its rubbish to claim anything about confidence, ryo and park are asian players they have tradition of working their backside off for their boss.they are not that fazed about the stage, they will do their job.
knowing wenger, no matter how crap arshavin and chamakh play they will be picked ahead of our tireless asian tigers.
protecting them against what? ryo was here in pre-preseason and played better than arshavin. park is better player than chamakh.

Bojan, Excellent formation. That is how the team should be until January! But Walcott won’t be ushered out of the XI so I think he’ll start in place of AOC.
If Arshavin isn’t up to the task he should be BENCHED. We have AOC and Ryo. The latter is certainly capable.

I know this comment is not related to this post..but I think it will happenthis year.. guys we were always gud at the start of every season from 2005 and always collapse at the end..and this time it happened totally wrong..we are awfull at the start and I believe we will win the league by performing later..do u agree?? ArsEnal fOr lifE!

@zainkani, i have always thought like that too. I am sure we can lift 2 trophies this season maybe fa and carling, the premier league is tough as at now and the CL is a game of wits, money and confidence which we lack at the moment. We can compete for FA Cup and Carling Cup and that will just be fine…however, i am believing that the bookies will be wrong this time around

4-4-2 IS the tried and tested arsenal way under wenger. We have had no success since we switched to 4-3-3, and now that cesc has left, there is no reason to persist with it.
I doubt park would be a big scorer in the PL, but he would score more than chamakh, and I think he would contribute a lot in other ways. His touch, control and movement are all excellent, and I could imagine him working well with RVP up front. I agree that he should be given some opportunities, but I think wenger is going to ease him in slowly, as he did with eduardo, but also Park is suffering a bit because I think our manager is trying to rebuild chamakh’s confidence by giving him the game time at the moment. I expect Park will get plenty of game time during the ACN, but yes, I think he should at least be getting some time on the pitch at the moment. Same goes for Ox, of course.

I personally think Jenkinson is not that bad, he crosses the ball better than Sagna even Walcott. As for Park, he just needs to be patient and the time will come when he could possibly Arsenal regular!

Everybody know AW will never play Ryo and Park until the last minutes when their best will not make any more differences on the field and table. I have known him for quite a long time that he’s so sturborn and will never listen to any instruction either from the board or fans. I think he’s enjoying a free hands given to him by the board and not even scared of being sacked.. HE AW should be sacked and get one of Arsenal past legend to replace him with immdeiate effect because he’s experince is weak and tired, he need to rest his brain, oh less i forget, he should take Diaby along with him back to his Country. AW is Fool.

You guys know what your talking about, everyone else who does not see that there are some absolutely disgraceful Arsenal fans out there (i.e. adam bloody kemp and his legion of half-wits) who are sabotaging the team and taking up the position of attacking our players + Wenger should be given the same abusive treatment and be told to “shut up” by the remaining 80% of Arsenal fans who support the club properly.

We’ve been playing VP in the lone striker role which is clearly not working. I agree with previous comments we should be playing a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1. We buy players then bury them on the bench then wonder why their skills fade. All opponents know what we are coming with!! We need to change strategy but thats something AW finds illegal

I have always been questioning why Wenger would mal the relationship between Arsenal and Lile for Park, yet, the same player cant get a place on the bench. I think Wenger is confused. He is yet to recover from the Silly mistake of not allowing Nasri and Fabregas to leave on time and finding quality replacement within the correct time. The departure of the two players are being felt because of wrong decision and not because there is nobody on the field to do the work. AOC should start ahead of Walcott, Park ahead of Ramsy, Colquin,Ryo and Oxykup should all be given the chance. How old was Theo when he joined?and at what age did Cesc made his Arsenal debut?
