Patrice Evra admits tapping up Nasri – all summer!
All the signs point to the fact that Samir Nasri has totally refused to sign a contract extension with Arsenal, with both Manchester United and Man City wanting to give the French international a massive pay rise to join them.
His France team-mate Patrice Evra has publicly admitted that he has been trying all summer to persuade Nasri to join him at Old Trafford rather than choose their moneybags neighbours Man City.
Evra said: “I’ve talked a lot with Sami in the holidays and told him how great it is to play for Manchester United and how important it would be for him to become one of the biggest players in the world.
“I don’t know how negotiations are at the moment, but he has a lot of clubs interested in him and he has to think.
“I just told him how good it would be for him coming here. He will have a nice welcome, and I can help as well because I’m French.
“I don’t know what he’s going to do yet. We have spoken a lot in the summer and also when we met up for friendly games with France at the end of the season.
“It was looking interesting but I don’t know, we’ll have to see.
“He said that it’s a privilege that a club like Manchester United want him, but he has to think about his future and talk with his agent. I’m not Nasri, I’m not his agent or his dad. You’d have to ask him. But I would definitely tell him to come to United. Definitely.
“I remember I made that little joke saying that he’s a prince now but if he wants to be the king, then he has to join United.
“But that’s the reality and I’ve told him that. I said, ‘If you want to win trophies, you have to come here’.
“If he goes to City, it’s his choice – but I know, as a player, if I have a choice of United and City, I would go straight away for United.
“It’s a lot of things. It can be for the money, many different things. But I know I would prefer to go for the glory.”
And I’m sure its not just Evra that has been turning his head, but he has openly admitted it twice now. Perhaps Wenger is going to force Nasri to play the last year of his contract so as not to lose face after categorically stating that Nasri would definitely NOT join Man United? If so that is an expensive bit of pride…..

Evra is a c*nt.
I think Nasri will sign a contract extension, imo he is waiting to see what happens with the Cesc saga, whether Arsenal are ambitious enough to make the signings that they have promised, and where he fits into Wenger’s plans (that is, whether he will be granted the central playmaker role or forced to play on the wing).

I’m sure Wenger categorically said Nasri would NOT join Man U ……
When you make statements about what might or might not be going on inside Wenger’s head you look less of a goose if you actually type in the right information…..No?
(Hey sorry. Of course its NOT. Its okay I’m awake now! – ADMIN)

Evra is a true example of scum. No wonder the mancs love him. He has utterly no respect for another club at all.
This has been going on for awhile now. If I’m not mistaken it started with him calling Arsenal “boys” against his Manure “Men”. Wenger has to publicly retaliate like how he did with Xavi. Other players talking about Arsenal players joining them and whatnot should stop or at least not be as obnoxious as it is now.

If every teams who claim better than Arsenal want Arsenal players that much, Arsenal must be actually better than them. This is a compliment to Arsenal, fans and players should be proud of this.

I think its time for wenger to let go of players who do not want to stay at arsenal and bring in some new blood. Maybe thats the reason why we’ve been going trophyless

The reason nasri wants to leave has nothing to do with evra,it because he wants to win things and can you honestly see him doing this with wenger in charge.

This is getting ridiculous.
SELL HIM and do it quickly.
Do we really need another player in the team who prefers to be somewhere else?
Nasri has had half a good season since joining Arsenal and he thinks he is god?
What did he do from February onwards last season?
NOTHING.
For a club that states it knows how to do business this is a joke.
Seriously, Sit back and look at the options.
1. Sell a greedy player who wants to leave with a year left on his contract for over 20 mill to a team from abroad?
OR
2. Let him ware out the last year of his contract and leave anyway for nothing.
This is a no brainer and I am just disgusted at the fact that our great club is begging this guy to stay.
What a nerve.

Fans need to start seeing the bigger picture and I am talking about all fans not just gooners.
Think about it people.
You are playing for a team that gives you 60k a week and another team offers you 180k a week.
What do you say to the media?
I am greedy and will go to whoever gives me more money?
I give you the two biggest excuses that these type of players will say.
1. This club has no ambition and that is why i am leaving.
2. I want to win trophies and that is why i am leaving.
Oh and if they are going to a team abroad we have the “I can’t handle the English weather anymore.

nasri can do whatever he wants ,it’s he’s contract ,he’s life ,he’s bank account …it’s a shame that we can no longer have our players extend their contracts without any doubt … if nasri was in the arsenal team 10 years ago ,playing alongside henry ,bergkamp or vieira he would have extended he’s contract the next second asked … nasri is not happy at today’s arsenal ,for a number of reasons ,money ,trophies ,team mates …the fans are split in two camps ,wenger haters and wenger lovers ..and when you play alongside squilaci and almunia and others ,and you see how the easily throw away leads and make idiotic mistakes you kind of loose all you determination and you start thinking that you don’t belong there …i don’t blame nasri

Evra is a self-proclaimed ManU soldier, small wonder he’ll spend as much time as possible rapping on how great the club is. I don’t think they spent so much time together in the summer, if anyone kept yapping on and on about football when I’m resting, I’d b*tchslap them.
I personally hold faith in the fact that Evra is Senegalese by birth, while Nasri was born in Marseille, and is of Algerian descent. I don’t think they’ve got a lot to talk about other than what’s up in the national team. Their life-stories are also too disparate for comfort.
Anyway, the most likely reason we’re still dealing with this tedious story is that Nasri wants to wait it out BOTH because Cesc might leave, AND because he thinks his persistence could win another big signing this summer, AND ALSO because he knows Arsenal will want him to sign an extension next year, before his contract expires, and he might then win a sizeable wage increase if he fares just as well or better next season. So, both the club, and the player, take a gamble on this one, but I think it’s likely they’ll end up signing a new contract by summer’s end.

Evra knows only playing foot, he’s not a perfect guy even in that respect because he’s not number one, & never won champion league, & world champion award by him self unlike those of Mesi & Ronaldo!! What he can say if he’s a world class foot baller? He has to learn more on how to talk on media. As I think he has poor thinking ability, well educated & he’s talking like illiterate person, Wenger must react firmly to his dialogue like what he did on xavi!!! & tell him inorder he shut his big fucken mouth!!!

And, of course, the major problem is that Nasri may actually not want to leave. I gather if he did, if he was decided on going to Manchester or wherever else, Arsenal would not put up this kind of a fight. It would merely be a question of negotiating a fee. If Wenger is so set on keeping Nasri in London, it may only be because he knows it’s not a question of him wanting to go anywhere.
Another thing: the similarity between the Nasri situation and the Cesc situation is deceptive, but with Cesc, Arsenal keeps a hard line because it’s a matter of negotiating the best deal possible for a key player in a situation where there’s virtually only one bidder. That’s why it’s wise to set a heavy asking price, even if it won’t be met. That way, Barca’s stance that they want Cesc so is self-defeating, because if they fail to bring him “home” now, they’ll have to deal with fan dissatisfaction, and Arsenal fans know what it may look like. With Nasri you have a player whose preferences aren’t stated, but we know only a handful of bidders are capable of coming up with the money. And most of those don’t guarantee neither the titles, nor a spot in starting XI. Also, Ferguson has officially excluded any further signings, so it’s rather unlikely ManU would spend further 20 mil now.

Nasri has spent four seasons and only performed half a season and he is now seeing himself as a star? Why don’t we ask him what happened to our star against Bolton Wanderer away with two one on one with the keeper and he couldn’t put any in, and he is now demanding for trophy. He should be bold enough to tell us he is going for the money rather than hiding behind trophy, he is just a bloody ingrate and a greedy idiot. My opinion Nasri and Fabregas should be allowed to leave because eleven less talented but committed players are better these bunch. Where were they when we lost Carling cup final. They should all go because they don’t look committed.

methinks once again that evra is a c@@t. i never liked him as a player and as a man well….i think that is debatable as well.
the problem lies in that a player cannot be punished for assisting in tapping up a player and i think that uefa really need to take a look at themselves over this.
evra himself as a player…well he always was a gobshite, years ago while at monaco he deliberately took out a rightback playing for auxerre because he showed him up, the injury kept him out for 4 months, that player. Bacary Sagna….Sagna’s father livid at the challenge threatened to have him shot…by god i really wish he had followed that up.

Thank you Wenger for making this team a joke. Instead of trying to helplessly prove to the world that you were right and everyone else was wrong (which you can’t anyway) why don’t you try and control your players.

I don’t know the real reason why Nasri will not sign a new contract. What I do know is that by not signing the media have another circus ride to keep writing about which is becoming as boring and as damaging as the Cesc saga.
Personally I would get shot of both of them (Cesc will be gone by the end of the week anyway) and use the money to buy experienced replacements. For far to long the Club has been damaged by the Cesc saga and if we don’t get rid of Nasri the same thing will drag us down this season.
We need to draw a line under this (I don’t care if Nasri goes to either of the manc scum) and start a fresh.
I thought we played better against Cologne on Saturday with Wilshire, Ramsey and Song in midfield anyway. So lets move on and have something positive to look forward to rather than Cesc saga 2 – Revenge of the Nasri.

I’m with Zery. Nasri had a brilliant half season. How come he’s now top dog at Arsenal? Why should we be bowing to his demands? What right has he to be shaming our club by (apparently)cuddling up with our rivals and drooling over the money he can get for moving. The worse thing is, as any self-respecting ex-employee should know, it’s bad manners and poor class to show disrespect to your previous employer. Especially an eployer which has taught you everything you know. If you intend to spread bad blood and discontent through the team and fans, Mr Nasri, please feel free to use the door.

evra is a clear defination of ‘piece of dung’.why not jst kip to his man-u matters. As for Nasri i think he should just leave and go search for his craved trophies with his equally pissing Fabregas.legends die and others come and fill their spots, arsenal wont perish jst because this two cracks want to leave.
