Patrick Vieira almost certain to come back to Premiership
The Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira has played his last game for Inter Milan, and is nearly certain to be rejoining his old boss Roberto Mancini at Manchester City.
Jose Mourinho saw Vieira play the whole 90 minutes against Chievo before the Portugese manager gave Vieira a special mention in his post-match comments.
Mourinho said: “I should give a special mention to Vieira,”
“I don’t know where he will go, maybe to England which he likes a lot, but we should thank him for what he has done in these years at Inter.
“The club decided not to renew his contract, which is coming to an end, and to accept the offer of another club. I will miss him. I will miss him but I don’t have the right to demand anything from a club who has done so much for me. I wish Patrick every happiness.”
Vieira is said to be flying to the Eastlands today for talks with Mancini, who is reported to be willing to pay the French international £150,000 a week to shore up the leaky Man City defence.
City are due to visit the Emirates on April 24th.
