Patrick Vieira to rejoin Arsenal in January!

Could Vieira be coming back?
According to reports this morning, the Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira is going to come back to rejoin Arsene Wenger in January on an 18-month contract.
The News of The World says that Wenger tried to get Vieira from Inter Milan right at the end of the transfer window, but they couldn’t get the £750,000 fee wired over in time to complete the deal.
They also say that Vieira even completed a medical at Arsenal, and that Wenger has offered him £70,000 a week to rejoin the club.
They quote Arsene Wenger as saying “Patrick was an amazing, fantastic player for us. For me, he is perfect for every team. We are very young and it is difficult to win with a young team.”
Forgive me for being cynical, but my memory of the transfer window doesn’t seem to tally with the News of The World’s version so i’m not sure whether to believe them.
But Vieira has said that he MAY leave Inter in January, but he says that he won’t make a decision until December, and it depends on how much playing time he gets.
His aim is to get back into the Raymond Domenech’s France team, and Domenech has told him that he won’t get picked unless he is playing regular first team football.
“My situation seems to be complicated because I do not play. But I do not want to draw any conclusion before December,” Vieira said. “If my situation does not evolve, I will make the necessary decisions.”
Asked whether he would leave Inter in January, Vieira said: “If nothing changes, yes.”
But the Inter boss, Jose Mourinho, questions the fact that Vieira doesn’t play, and gave actual figures for minutes of playing team for various players in the Inter team.
“Vieira has played 283 minutes since the start of the season,” said Mourinho.
“He has played in six games, three of them from the start and three entering as a substitute.
“I understand that everyone would like to play more, but that is life. He has played more than (Sulley) Muntari, (Esteban) Cambiasso, (Wesley) Sneijder and only slightly less than (Javier) Zanetti, who always plays.”
Well it seems that Vieira could leave Inter in January, but the question remains about whether he will join Arsenal or not. For one thing, would Wenger promise to play him more often than Mourinho?

i dont believe this, not a single word
not bad…..he can show our youngstars how to win the way giggs does to the young lads of man u
I have my doubts.
It doesn’t quite add up. Transfers are driven by the execution of legal documentation as opposed to wiring cash. Yes you do get legal agreements whereby a deal is contingent on cash being paid, but this is not that likely to be the case in my view.
Sounds like another fantastic.rumour to me
Would be good to see a player like him join. But not.sure it will happen, and not for a measly 750 k either!
FAO Vela, you need to remember Vieira plays in a much more physical position than Giggs. Paddy has had many injuries over the last few seasons too. You’re completely right about the needed influence he’d have on the younger players, but can he do that and stay fit too.
welcome you back to our home paddy! i really hope
but i dont think AW will play him more often than that.
maybe he will take any chance oF diaby.
We don’t need him. He will destroy the dressing room.
