Pavlyuchenko wants out – Could he be Arshavin’s partner at Arsenal?
Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has again made clear his desire to leave White Hart Lane to be able to secure his place with Russia at Euro 2012 – most probably alongside countryman Andrey Arshavin.
He said, “I want changes. My new situation is not simple at the moment. We’re getting very close to the European Championship. I have to make a decision… You don’t get into the national squad on past achievements. I will be 30 in December, and it could be my last big tournament”.
Similarly to Arshavin, he is reaching a time in his career at which he is required to make big choices. Arsenal’s Russian has seemingly made the right one in staying at the Emirates, contributing some quite brilliant performances in the past month after his poor start to the season. Regardless of his current club, Wenger knows that, in this case, the rivalry is no barrier for a player desperate for game time.
To add to the possibility of such a signing, Pavlyuchenko has expressed his wish to stay in the capital, “It would be silly of me to hide that I find life in London much better”.
Pavlyuchenko may be considered to be a bit-part player at Spurs, but with 40 goals in 107 appearances, his contribution cannot be described as minimal. The fact that the majority of these goals came from the bench does suggest that he is a player who simply knows how to be in the right place at the right time.
Gooners have discussed the possibility that Park Ju-Young may be more of a support striker rather than a true centre-forward, and so his potential as a possible substitute for Van Persie isn’t as sure as it once was. He is undoubtedly a terrific option to play behind a front striker and having played in this position for previous clubs and his country, changing his role might not bring out the best in him at all.
Whether it’s on loan or on a permanent deal, could Roman Pavlyuchenko be an acceptable deputy to the aforementioned Dutch talisman?

On which sort of drug you are today? Pav is not even good enough for SPUDS!!! So how on the Earth he is good enough for Arsenal? Please, don’t write articles which make Arsenal look smaller and worse than Tottenham!

I’d take him. He is big, good in the air and has a shot to match.

I seriously suggest you do a bit of research before posting something.
He does not really get along with Arshavin so while you might think it will work in theory, practically it won’t.
And if we are going to get a player off our rivals it should be someone who is class like van der vart and not the sort of players they are trying to get rid of.
Has it now come to the point where we go for the spud rejects as well?!
God help us.

he is jst unlucky cos i believe adebayo isn’t anything better. but looking at this guy. . . i think he’ll do much better than chamakh. might not score a lot of goals, but his presence terrifies the defence.

As pedobear would say “Too Old!”
The only Spuds players I’d have on Arsenal are Bale and Van Der Vaart.

No point in keep looking for rvps deputy what we need to be doing is looking for someone to rival him for his.position. we currently have 12 strikers on the books other than rvp and not one of them has van persie fearing for his place. that is simply not good enough for a club like arsenal. we have walcott arshavin gervinho park chamakh afobe freeman watt ansah bendtner vela murphy all can play up front yet u would not say that any of them are good enough to take over from rvp.

I like Pav, he’s a good footballer and usually makes more of an impact in the last 15-20mins of a game than Chamakh or Bendtner does (did) for Arsenal.
Theres lots cons (age/being a spud/he won’t get more game time than he does now) but I think there might be more positives…
1. A friend for Arshavin. It might spark a good connection between the two, you always play better when your happier, and maybe thats one of the reasons he seems a shadow of his former self, and why he plays so well for Russia.
2. Backup for RVP! We need a central striker for when (touch wood) RVP gets injured or needs a rest, it seems Chamakh is not ready to step up yet (and he has time on his side), Park looks pretty good but Pav might add even more depth. Manc city have 4/5 strikers, look at their goal difference. Rotating based on teams, its a good.
3. We’re in all competitions just now, so depth is the key to keeping players fresh, if we burn out our key players like last season it could be another rubbish end to the season.
If Chief Spud lets him leave, and he wants to come to Arsenal for cheap…. why not.

Yes Of course..it would be a good deal.I say that because i can confidently rate Pavlyuchenko among EPL’s Top 10 strikers. Besides,Apart from RVP,it’s clear no other player in our team can play the centre postion.Park is still inexperienced in the EPl,compared to Roman, who has alot of experience in the league.Anyways,it’s just a wish which might not come true.

depends how much they want for him. I would rather sell Chamakh and buy a far better striker to replace RvP if needed. Chamakh has done nothing and I think he is wasted at Arsenal

Pavvy is a great player, has been out of favour at Spurs for a while, don’t think Harry Twitchingnutsackface Redknapp likes him hence why he has been stuck on the bench, has come off it to rescue Spurs many a time. Snap him up if he wants out.
