Perhaps Wenger should have kept Eboue at Arsenal?
When Sagna was out injured not too long ago, Arsenal have since been suffering in the right back position. Bacary Sagna has been an extremely important part to the Arsenal backline, his backup will also be essential as seen in recent matches where Arsenal look rather vulnerable on the right. So the question comes, should we have let Emmanuel Eboue the party animal to leave the club?
Eboue has been at the club since the January of 2005. Since then, Eboue has dazzled many Arsenal fans with his amazing pace and technical ability. Furthermore, Eboue amazed a couple of Arsenal fans with his ‘diving’ attempts.
Eboue is also a very versatile player. He has played at both full backs position for Arsenal and even at a central role for the team. He could also play on the wing for Arsenal, making darting runs into the penalty area for Arsenal, playing in assists for the team.
At the moment, Arsenal are a little short at the right back position. Carl Jenkinson may be a player for the future but he is still very raw. His inexperienced may damage Arsenal and at times, he went up to support the offense but ignored his defensive duties, making Arsenal vulnerable on the counter. Djourou was a disaster at right back. At his height, he is rather clumsy with his game play. He is only good at defending the aerial threat dangerous to Arsenal. Koscielny may be a temporary right back but his crosses are below par and he is still a centre half at the end of the day.
My take on this is we should never have let Eboue leave. However, at this stage of his career he should really be getting solid regular games and if he can attain that in Turkey, I wish him the best of luck.
But Arsenal really could do with him this weekend!

for me eboue deserved more 1st 11 match that he couldn’t get at arsenal..by considering his age and carrier, he choose to pursuit it at another club..so we should accept that..it’s different case with nasry and clichy..both of them always get their place in wenger 1st squad..but they ‘bettrayed’ us! so now i’m gonna ask both of them.. hey scum, what are you doing DOWN there?? europa league?? you’ll never be the same standard like us..shame on you scum!!!

If Wenger doesn’t buy this January, his Arrogance could cost us a top 4 or even a title.
We need a striker, Gotze and two defenders.

I think I can get what this whole article is about. But then again there’s no need to be crying over spilt milk. Decisions were made, we cant change that, we need to move on and look to the future. Don’t know about you guys but I think we analyse our team and drop the deadwood. I know mr Wenger loves to give people time and chances but our team – meaning good determined and reliable players – is thin. We have players we could honestly do without ei arshavin, squid etc. On a bright side our team is in next stga of champions league. Well done lads. We still need to lose and replace some players in the coming transfer windows. GTID

Well, jenkinson must have impressed wenger sufficiently in pre-season. I also think that none of the injuries to the full-backs, except gibbs( cause he’s a crock), could be anticipated. Also, 3 of our cb’s can play at full-back, and song and even coquelin can play at cb. We have numbers in defence for sure, the quality is lacking since djourou’s regressed since showing brilliant form last season.
Vertonghen won’t be bad at all, we’ll have to sell djourou though i guess.

I’m sure eboue would have been happier to be on the bench here than the ‘treatment’ he’s getting from Turkish fans..

Eboue was a liability but had a good character with positive morale and left on good terms. end of story.
We should have posts about the matches we will play and also one on the day of the match.
I also agree we should have one taking the mick out of Manchester who were going to win the ECL and go unbeaten in the PL.
Toure is a plonker Toure is a joker na na na na, na na na na.

@ RED DB I feel the same, Eboue made some silly mistakes in his career at Arsenal, some which cost us. Overall I did like him, having him around instead of Laurel and Hardy (Squillaci and Djoure) would have been much better, but Arsenal need more of a solid defense.
As most have said, we need a versatile defender who can play in any defensive position. Wenger needs to make a buy or two in January…If I were him I would first of all sell all these clowns we keep persisting with – Squillaci, Djoure, Arshavin (been bid 25m for), Bendtner, Denilson, Hoyte, Eastmond. Arsenal currently have 9 midfielders. Now, if we really want Gotze this Jan, we need to look at which clubs have actually made decent offers for our players. So far Arshavin and Ramsey are coveted by other clubs. Although I do like Ramsey, Gotze is better and I would see him part ways with us if it means we can get Gotze. The money we get for Arshavin and Ramsey can easily acquire us Gotze and perhaps a world class striker. In defence, I wouldn’t spend money on any players. I would bring Bartley back from loan, play him CB with Per, and play Verminator on the left, Koss RB. Or play Miquel on the left and keep Verm and Per CB’s, Koss RB.

Hahaha. You know why i hate manure? Cos they luckily win their games.Look at their ucl matches last season. They played small teams, reached final and get humiliated by barca. I think our group is more competitive than theirs. But we finished the group as winners. U see how gud we are. manure spent about €50(young,de gea, jones) in the summer without selling any one.But we sold 4 members of our 1st team and still playing better than them.Thats why i rate wenger more than ferguson.Gunners 4 lyf

I just cannot see anyone wanting eboue at the.club. what cos he.had an infectuos smile? as a footballer he was derisory he was taking 3m plus a year which is an insult. remember he was so poor he was substituted after being laughed at and booed by the majority of a packed emirates. it wasnt a few idiots calling him off it was an overwhelming demand by the masses.
people forget in vermaelen we have probably the 3rd best international left back in the world. for crying out loud lets play him in his best position. in koscielny we also have a very good right back mertesacker alongside jd or miquel should be enough to cope with anything that everton can offer if not drop song back there and play arteta frimmy or le coq in the dm role.

Funny how the HINDSIGHT opinion is always easier to rule. If we didn’t have injuries to Sagna and Jenkinson, then would we really want Eboue back? I don’t know why we’re even wasting our time talking about this. Eboue is having a great time in Turkey having already scored 2 goals this year.
He’s been controversial there as well with time wasting acts and characteristic dives. Don’t get me wrong, he served us well when he was in good form but Turkey is a place where old players retire because they’re paid huge sums of cash by clubs like Fenebache and Gala.
Hell since we’re on the topic of former Gunners, why don’t we just keep Flappyhandski and Almunia instead of transferring them so to avoid articles like this.

Don’t mix things up top division in Turkey is easier. Besides he was not a top
5 player in BPL in his position so bound to be a squad player. If u knew our fullback will be injured the story is different but at the time AW call was to groom
Jenkinson as Sagna back up and successor. Both injured but Jenkinson has the potential to be as good if not better than Eboue and Sagna soon.

Olympiacos, Dortmund, and Marseille are in the top ten most intimidating venues in Europe and yet Arsenal finished top of the group with a game to spare.
Manure get the easiest group of the lot and get knocked out.
Mark my words we will finish above manure this season even with current squad and injuries.

I rated eboue so highly, when he want forward he maybe done a dodgy pass or a dodgy shot, but he is a defender, and he did make a couple of mistakes in defence, but who doesn’t ? i think that if we played him regulaly he would’ve became such a good player, out of all the players we sold, we miss him the most, ramsey has replace fabregas instantly he has been one of our best players this season, nasri has been replaced by gervinho, gervinho offers so much more than nasri did, he is faster, a better shooter, more of a team player and isnt greedy like nasri, as soon as gervinho finds his feet and is used to the english game, he will be doing as good as david silva you watch!!!

Hindsight is a great thing. Perhaps we should also have kept Flamini, Henry, Cruise et al.
Still we will be ok for right back as Pat Rice played there for us in the 70s and he was pretty good
