Peter: Van Persie to hand in transfer request? Crap!
I wouldn’t even wipe my arse with The Daily Star! by Peter Rooke
There is report in the Daily Star this morning that is suggesting that Robin Van Persie is considering joining the exodus from Arsenal started by Nicklas Bentner and Denilson, and then (seemingly) followed up by Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy.
But they say that the Dutch international will first seek assurances from Wenger that there will be like-for-like replacements coming in for the departing players before deciding whether to hand in a transfer request.
Let me make this clear; THIS STORY IS A LOAD OF BOLLOX! And the Star is not fit to use as toilet paper. How date they suggest that Arsenal’s most loyal player (and Wenger’s biggest supporter) would even consider leaving the Emirates is despicable and I am going to boycott even visiting the Star’s website after this piece of bile. I suggest that all true Arsenal fans should do the same.
FACT! Robin Van Persie has been with Arsenal for seven years and Wenger has always supported him during his endless injuries.
FACT! He has two years left on his contract and Wenger is going to offer him a new five-year contract so he can end his career at the Gunners.
FACT! Van Persie has already admitted he is not going anywhere! He said earlier this year:
“I don’t have the inclination to go anywhere. This is the best team for me to be in.
“The bottom line is that I want to win trophies with Arsenal, not with anybody else. I know you can win trophies in many countries and in many ways, but I want to do that in our way and in an Arsenal shirt.
“I’m sure I could win things at another team in another country, but would it feel like our trophy, my trophy? I’m not sure it would. Anything we win here will come from the heart and that’s what I want.
“It’s my dream and I see no point in speaking about other teams when I have these dreams. I think other people know that about me; I’m just hungry to win with Arsenal and that’s it.”
Does that sound like a player that is going to issue ultimatums to Arsene Wenger? Poor Van Persie has already had to issue two denials in the last month where journalists have simply made up quotes attributed to him, and this load of bollox doesn’t even bother making up a quote!
Leave the loyal Van Persie alone, and boycott the bloody Star!

no its arsene who should go. arsenal will never win anything with arsene as the manager. i hoped to see a few major sigings but look at who he has brought, jenniksons and miyachi, i could play better than those two!!!

Amen. Please post more articles like these and fewer which simply dish out rumours from the tabloids. I cannot understand how intelligent adults (I assume most are) can be taken in by the rubbish being printed by the likes of the sun, mirror, everyone really. We all are hungry for news about the team, but please, why fall for their tripe. Joey Barton and Titus Bramble to Arsenal, van Persie to put in a transfer request…. it never stops because it sells newspapers or clicks. No wonder so many are planning to take part in the mass suicide during the first home game – unless off course Wenger convinces Dein to return the money he received for his shares and uses that to buy all the names being linked to us.

You’re not wrong! We Arsenal fans need to wake up and counter these rumors. Please add the Sun Mirror and Sky to that list, along with some of the refs. Arsenal has the best mid-field in the premiership created WITHIN OUR MEANS and they can’t take it.
‘Le Grove’ is a constant moan.
‘Untold Arsenal’ comes with the goods consistently. He wrote a great article about skint… really skint Barca.
While some fans have been moaning, we have Van Persie -Brilliant world class player who was “injury prone and should be sold” He scored LOADS this season.
Naz who “wants to leave” was the best player of the season.
Fabregas has been leaving for the last six years! is world class.
So what’s Man U’s mid-field like?
So what’s Chelsea’s mid-field like?
So what’s Liverpool’s mid-field like?
Oh yeah… we’ve got Ramsey, Wilshire, Arshavin, and plenty coming through and 60 mil to spend. THESE RUMORS WILL NOT DESTABILIZE MY LOVE FOR THE ARSENAL.
We out played all the best teams in the premiership, and had the best defense in open play, and a great away record (big up the away crowd)
Set plays and Wellington boots up north, are nice easy problems to resolve.
Any one who thinks Arsene isn’t a winner is forgetting A WHOLE SEASON UNBEATEN. ONLY A WINNER CAN ACHIEVE THAT!!!!!!!! Any one who thinks that he doesn’t know what needs to be done… has been suckered by the press.
BE AFRAID OF ARSENAL THIS SEASON…BE VERY AFRAID.
When we’re good … WE’RE THE BEST. Remember that. Go get arsenal player and watch how we out-played Man City, Man United, and Chelsea… THEY CAN’T PLAY US!
The other teams will get dealt with – height and a deeper back four for some games is a peace of piss to resolve.

it wouldnt surprise me..if i were RVP i would want to know if i was going to be playing in front of the crap i did last season…and if i was i would say; “this team doesnt suit my ambition…i love arsenal but i have to consider my career and not waste the years i have left playing in a team that cant hold on to a lead and chokes in the big matches and wins nothing”

I’ve been a bit afraid reading the title of your post but after a few lines, I felt better with the prospect not to lose our best striker… Being French, I’m not that inclined to read the Star, Mirror or other rubbish tabloid “press” that you have in the UK -I’m being “froggy” here but totally take responsibility for it when it comes to press.
But I must confess I’m caught of guard when reading “L’Equipe” today. The french sport newspaper states that Wenger is keen to sell Fabregas rapidly -ok, it appears more and more likely our skipper will leave anyway- so to buy… Benzema. It would better be a joke when, in my view, with Gervinho signing, we don’t need anymore strikers: Van Persie, Walcott, Arshavin, Gervinho, Chamakh is more than enough. But where we need to spend big money is for two big defenders -it seems Wenger is aware of that- and one/two top class midfielders, with Fabregas out and Nasri reluctant to stay.
Please Wenger, don’t splash out for a rubbish Benzema!

Why would we sell our captain and backup captain (who is almost certain to take over as captain once cesc leaves)? The star is so short of stories they have to make up this bull?

The only reason RvP will hand in a transfer request is if Wenger is sacked. Wenger won’t be sacked so you can deduce about RvP from that. But to be honest, it is only noble of any manager to make consented efforts at fulfilling every world class player’s dream – winning trophies. Wenger is not doing that well enough. I think you NEED a better crop of players to win the epl. If we win with our current players, its sheer luck and it won’t repeat itself until marquee players are brought in

I haven’t seen the source of the Van Persie interview, but it would not be the first time Van Persie expresses his desire about the club matching his ambition. When RVP made his earlier comments about staying, it was when it looked like we were actually progressing and going to start winning Trophies. As usual it’s all fallen apart. Our best players are leaving and why should RVP stay. He’s going to be the only World Class player left.

Well said mate. Good to see an Arsenal fan stay true to his team in times of adversity. I’m floating on the same boat and have optimism in the season ahead. Van Persie is our most loyal Arsenal subject and has the highest respect and love for Wenger.
