Podolski to Arsenal rumours gather pace
There have been thousands of Arsenal transfer rumours saying that the Koln and Germany striker Lukas podolski could be on his way to the Gunners as cover for Robin Van Persie, well now the player himself has agreed that he would prefer to leave the Bundesliga if he leaves.
He said: “Moving to another club within the Bundesliga is something I can hardly imagine. If I decide to leave Koln, it will be to move abroad.”
“It annoys me that some people think I can only perform at Koln and only when I live in this city. That gets on my nerves. They claim something that is simply not right. I can also feel well and perform at my best in other surroundings.”
It has been reported lately that Schalke04 were the biggest rivals to Arsenal for Podolski, but by this statement he has ruled them out of the equation, hopefully leaving Arsenal a clear run on the prolific hitman.
I reckon there are very few Arsenal fans that would complain if Podolski did end up arriving, especially if it just for the quoted price of 10m can become true. Wenger has already said he’s looking for a striker at a bargain price!

Hopeful though i am, i’m skeptical about podolski coming to arsenal. We’ll see a typical wenger player- talent unheard of- in january IF Arsenal do buy. I think full-back on loan is a necessity till AS11 returns.

I wil be happy 2 see podolski in arsenal shirt.it wil go a long way in convincing many that we mean business. Podolski is an arsenal material.he is a champion.he has an amazing left foot like rvp and age is on his side.d manager shuld be quick and decisive about it b4 shitty and co knows about it

seriously though podolski is not hot property and we could comftabaly afford both his fee and wages and see off potential suitors. this is a rare case where a good player is clearly available but not giving the usual “i belong at real or barca shit” so to drive up price competition and speculation.
hes a solid player thats level headed (not cup tied for cl) and would be welcome at afc. arsenal rumours are 99% trash but for once this one makes sense and all the right noises are coming outa both sides, go on wenger splash the cash and stick him on the top of the emirates xmas tree!

The two rumours concerning strikers today throw up a significant point.
I would be willing to bet, that Podolski is a more confident player than Matias Suarez.
Matias Suarez’ career took 3 years to bloom in Belgium. He seems a risk to me. Having said that, he has some skill, that is of no doubt. Type in Matias Suarez 2011 on youtube, and click on the 8:30min video and you will see what I mean.
Podolski has confidence, that is my opinion. I base this on the fact that he has had success in Germany at club level and at International level. At 26 he is a good age, not too old, not too young. I am being convinced that he could flourish at Arsenal. If 10 mil is the quote it seems a very fair price indeed. Also he would be eligible to play in the champions league.
Who ever it is that comes in, I am confident that Wenger and our amazing scouts will choose wisely. It reassuring to say the least, that a serious void in our team appears to be (in theory) being addressed.

I know this sux and I don’t wish it to happen, but we don’t know what really is going on with Podolski.
Saying he’ll love to move abroad could mean anywhere. Too many a time have we been misled by papers and tabloids.
I won’t even think of this until I see Podolski in an Arsenal shirt.
I believe Wenger will spend. This is enough to make me happy. Lets leave it at that

I hope these rumours are true, we desperately need to strengthen the front line, Chamakh and Arshavin are finished at Arsenal and need to be wiped off the wage bill. If Wenger is really serious about going after Gotze in the future having Mert and Podolski already settled in the squad would be a huge advantage to getting him here. Do it Arsene.

Would welcome him but im not sure he is worth the money for just back up. Wenger should focus on getting Deulofeu, Eriksen, Draxler and Alba. Then Arsenal would win the league in 3 years with these kids.

Honestly, could a club who said practicing youth keep buying 2-3 players every open windows (6 players a year), if each players sign for 3-4 years, its mean 6 *3 or 6* 4 = 18/24 players coming in now and then. Do anyone have faith in Walcot? or Ox? when do you wanted to give them some chance? 5 more years for walcot ? Some youth work hard but still yet not being recognize for their hardwork, its not a good moral and message for them to continue work hard to be play out of their favorite position for 10 years because the manager will just keep buying buying buying more “Nasri” type players who just wanted to double the wages through Arsenal.
