Pressure Off Arsenal striker Giroud – Now he will keep scoring
The French international striker Olivier Giroud seems like a different man since registering his first goal since moving to Arsenal in the summer. Confidence is flowing through Giroud and he is feeling confident about his and the whole team’s season.
“It’s done, I have my first goal, but it has to be the start of a beautiful adventure.
“I want to play week in, week out, find my rhythm and keep scoring. I am convinced that with some perseverance it will come.”
Giroud admitted that his first goal was preying on his mind, no matter how hard he tried not to think about it. His friends and family kept talking about it and Arsene Wenger noticed that he was under pressure and started resting him. Wenger will be as relieved as Giroud as he can now use the strength and hold up play of the Frenchman without worrying about his confidence.
Giroud could be crucial against the robust defending of Chelsea. Despite his four match ban, John Terry will play against Arsenal before deciding whether to appeal. Wenger can combine speed and trickiness with strength and aerial ability and give Chelsea a barrage of problems to deal with.
“Coventry was the perfect win before Chelsea, a very important game. It brings alot of confidence for me, but also for the team.
“Now we need to think about the league. It’s a massive game and I hope it will come our way.”
Let’s all hope that this is the beginning of the “beautiful adventure” for Giroud and Arsenal fans…..

I think Giroud will still need more time to adjust to EPL. I’m not hoping much for the next 3-4 games. Gervinho may be more promising, even Walcott. He will be alright eventually but I wouldn’t hope it so soon.

Giroud is a very good player……there is more to him than his 1 goal so far…movement….passing hold up play he gives us a new dynamic and helps off set pieces he is what I would call a team player and he works hard and efficent…..Arsenal will demolish chelsea and show them what a real team is…..they looked shaky against stoke and haven’t really impressed in their games…and Drogba the torn in Arsenals sight isn’t there I’m confident about not only this game but the season COYG!!!!

Sometimes I feel Chelsea have out muscled us. Drogba has bullied our defenders. Now I am pretty sure we are the bigger stronger team. Lets mess em up

Giroud and Walcott should start. Walcott has been a spine in Chelsea’s flesh for a few games. Also midfield should be dominated along with our CBs. Fitness of all 3 of them is an excellent situation.

How long did it take legend Henry to score first goal? OG oozes class and he will score many for Arsenal. Wenger seldom buys badly and he certainly isn’t one of those poor acquisitions.

I want Giroud to score his first goal in Premier league against Chelsea because just as Torres is always scoring against Chelsea,Giroud would be regular scorer against Chelsea just as Drogba was to us but now he is gone HAHAHA!!!!COYG!!!!

I think Giroud will turn out to be class. He may have only scored one goal so far but to be fair he’s had hardly any clear goal scoring chances at all. He should have scored against Sunderland, the header at L’pool, and the Pen against Coventry. But that’s it. He’s barely had any half chances as well. I don’t count the one against L’pool when Diaby put him through as he should have squared to Gibbs as Riena had come out and closed off the angle. Henry took a while to get going, and he turned out to be the best striker in world at his peak. I don’t think Giroud will get to that level but he’ll be class, and we’ve got Walcott and plenty of cash to spend in Jan just in case he flops.

He should use his momentum to divert attention from defenders and pass it to someone. I think the surprise element can be of use. We have a stronger squad but them too.

Happy 4 giroud first goal in arsenal shirt but my concern is the match between Arsenal vs Chelsea come saturday, drogba has been our worrys all this years but now his no more with the blues, so less see what d gunners can offer wenger and fans 2mrow. Gud luck

I wish Drogba was still playing for Chelsea. So many Arsenal fans fear this guy but if I were a player, I would welcome the challenge any day. To be the best, you have to beat the best!
I’m not concerned about Hazard, because I still think he plays erratically. He doesn’t have the same read of the game and purpose as Cazorla. The Spaniard makes crucial decisions and passes which I think Hazard will develop with more EPL experience. I’m more concerend about stopping Mata who has been instrumental to the team. Osar is young and built like a breadstick so I don’t think Koz and Verms will have too many probs keeping him out.
I bet Chelsea will employ Ramires as a DM and allow Lampard to play more advanced up field. They’d get killed if they used Bertrand and Ramires as wingers. They’ll need more mobility to shut out our midfield. I’m expecting Arsenal to win by 2 goals. Come on gooners lets be as loud as we can at the Emirates! I wish I could be there to lose my voice!
