PROOF that the Arsenal Board have no ambition!
I am finding it very hard to come to terms with the fact that one of the top men on the board of Arsenal football Club is not bothered whether Arsenal qualify for the Champions League or not, and I am shocked by the implications of Peter Hill-Wood’s words.
Most Arsenal fans are aware that the reason Arsenal isn’t in the Top Four is because we have lost many of our best players over the last few seasons and replaced them with inferior models, but Peter Hill-Wood is not worried as it won’t affect the budget.
Hill-Wood said: “From a financial point of view, not qualifying for the Champions League is quite a blow.
“We have been planning for not qualifying every year, so it is not a disaster, but it would be nice if we could.”
If I was running a team that had never finished outside the Top Four in 15 years, I would be extremely worried about how this might affect income, sponsorship deals, TV Revenue, attendance levels, etc, and would be keen to act to remedy the situation. That is what Directors are supposed to do.
But he doesn’t seem bothered. So we can NOT expect a massive investment to try and stop the rot and protect income levels, we can expect the more of absolutely nothing! Maybe one less biscuit with their tea at board meetings……
I find that very sad.

Just read these lines again “We have been planning for not qualifying every year, so it is not a disaster, but it would be nice if we could.” – It sounds like qualifying for the CL is a bonus as if Arsenal were some mid-table team that came into the CL fold through miracles. The reality is Arsenal were top two for most of the early part of the decade and then dropped to top 4 and now further drifting away to top 6. This idiot PHW should be sacked. He personifies all the problems associated with Arsenal.
Not qualifying for a CL spot is a blow only for financial reasons according to this muck but what about the footballing aspect of running a club? Where is the ambition. Unless Arsenal get rid of such obsolete creatures who have tentacles of rapacity the club will drift further away from the top.

For me this has just summed it all up. Questions have been asked, is it wenger refusing to buy or is it due to the board. Hillwood has confirmed it is the board, however wenger has clearly become a weak yes man or worse still agrees with the board. I don’t think wenger going will make a difference to be honest it is the board who should be got rid of and then see what wenger does. But how hard is it to get rid of kronke and the board, I would say almost impossible. Biggest transfer we could do this year is getting dein back. I am truly saddened by what is going on. A third family generation chairman of Arsenal Hill-Wood is and he’s saying things this. His banking background certainly shines through; “as long as I’m running at a profit and taking home my bonuses for doing such, I don’t give a toss about anyone or anything else”. Fucking pathetic. There not much we can do, just sit watch and be frustrated. This once great club is being taken for a ride by people who’s only concern is making money. The club is seen as a business and not as a football club. The main aim is to make money, not to be successful in football.
These comments do not relate to the players we sign, but the comments made in recent months by the board. I do not believe Wenger shares this opinion, but is forced to by the lack of ambition by the club’s owners and board. He and the players are trapped by people no ambitions inside the footballing world.

A few seasons ago many supporters were predicting our club would end up being run as a business and the trophy cabinet would run dry and dusty.
Well Lo and Behold we are are at that stage already but the problem is we still have supporters that think we are doing fine and running the club in a good way financially will pay dividends in the long run.
Well it probably will but it will only pay the shareholders.
If we look at Kroenke’s other investments in sport you will notice zero expenses so things will not get better on the pitch people but it will in the bank for those greedy bastards.
I think the time has come for us gooners to be heard but that does not mean boycotting the games.
We should turn up with banners and start getting the message over that we want the yank and Gazidis the man shitty supporter out of Arsenal FC forever.
Times are more dangerous than many seem to realise because for the first time in 125 years we have shareholders and people on the board who are not Arsenal supporters and that should give us enough stress to keep us all awake at night.
I do however feel that AW needs to be left out of the harassment for two reasons. First for his achievements with the club and secondly and most importantly because every fan needs to be on board and that means the “AW we trust” lot and the “AW out” lot as well.
If it is true that the only thing holding AW back is the board and shareholders then even the AW mob should agree that the yank and Gazidis need to bugger off.
I personally believe that AW has run out of ideas and that he probably needs to move on while we still have a few good memories to remember him by.
But I would love to be proved wrong if Dein and Ushmanov came in and Kroenke an Gazidis left and AW turned things around and actually won us something.
The longer we sit back and wait the more we will see players like Mata, Suarez, Cissoko, Hazard, etc going to various clubs in England and not to Arsenal.

All that quote says is that the Arsenal board budget without counting on champions league qualification. Look I am only 18 years old but I have seen a rapid decline in out football club , I have Been to many games over the years and I have to say our best times were definitely at highbury !!! Since we have moved to the emerites our club has been in free fall ! The departures of key players Henry, Fabregas, nasri, flamini , These players have neer been replaced , I’d even go as far to say that viera , Adams are still yet to be replaced !
Our club has ambition , and with wenger at the helm things are not going to change ! Although we cannot deny the fact that wenger has done so much for our club I believe his time has run out along with the current board !

ArsenaLova I will not shut up, I was just putting you straight that not all that is printed is the truth. You and the rest of our supporters not based in England just do not understand our culture and
the way things work here. And before it starts do not dare call me racist because I an not. You call for half the stadium to be empty this weekend. All that wil do is hurt the players and give ManU a lift. The seats were all paid for at the beginning of the season. Someone else says about taking banners into the game. Outside the ground yes but you won’t be allowed to take them inside. Yes we have won nothing for some 6+ years but have been in two cup finals since our last trophy and have been close and one of the most consistent teams. We have the highest number of last 16 places in CL. yes we are having a very bad season in the Prem this year but who says we cannot win the FA Cup and/or the Champs League. By all means protest and make your voices heard but believe me my friend you are in a minority. Stop all this little girl whinging and support our team not destroy it. Your nonsense will harm us. You think this year is bad, well believe me I have over 50 years of watching my beloved Arsenal and seen us regular mid table. Wenger turned this club onto a global force, playing beautiful football and regularly winning trophies. Yes I agree he has lost his way but believe me what you are suggesting will do more harm than good. Just be very careful what you wish for.

Gadzidis said the same at the start of season after 8 games or so i mentioned it in an early post this proves the board have no ambition or even care whete the club finishes what a joke they are happy for us to sell our best players at a profit and dont care where we finish in the league aslong as they can profit from the 7% ticket price increase what an absolute disgrace

guys its not soo cool seeing AFC get humilated by simple swans not soo cool at all…. then this hill wooooood thinks its no problem not even makin cl…wat da…? ok londoners kam on do wat u have to do for this fat or skin face mammal to kam out of the board otherwise..will use voodo from afrika….blive me mates it works…. his been warned AFC means a lot to some of us it not a personal club. so helps God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ArsenaLova – thanks for your reply. I can see that you are a really passionate supporter and I too apologise for any offence, none was meant. I agree with a lot you say and perhaps because I have seen seasons worse than this (yes a long time ago) I still see this as a mixture of some bad management from board and boss but also incredible bad luck with injuries. So many of our best players out for far too long. Perhaps it’s something to do with the training and as I live less than a mile from the training ground should go have a look! Seriously though we here feel as bad as you there but just hope we can change things around without loosing our manager.

Dear Fans,
Businesses World over belong not only to owners but to a number of stakeholders who have varying stakeholding. Their varying interests in the business cannot be underestimated as the business survival depends on all of them.Whereas the Board may be interested in profits, the fans are interested in trophies etc. Therefore there is always a balance and mutual interdependence and respect.
This is so because for instance, if the customers boycot the buying of the products of a given factory, it may have no option but to close down.Therefore, the owners of the business have to be always involving, careful with what they utter out and cautious about thier conduct.
Back to the point, the arrogant,rude,unreliable,selfish conduct of the Arsenal Board and Management is simply runnig down the club. As Arsenal Fans, we are only being taken for a ride.The Board in only interested in earning an additional pound. Time will tell.
We are not advocating for slashing money in the transfer market like madmen. However, what is vital is to do periodic assesment of the team departments and do the appropriate and timely replacement.It has ever been done and thats how the era of invicibles came about. As stakeholders, dear fans dont stand to be intimidated,lets stand together and we fight exploitation.
