Ray Parlour convinced that Kieran Gibbs will go to World Cup
The Arsenal legend Ray Parlour believes that Kieran Gibbs will follow in Theo Walcott’s footsteps and get called up for the World Cup in South Africa this summer.
“He has the talent,”
“I have watched him loads of times. He has great pace. He can tackle and he gets forward well.”
“If he gets a run of games now for Arsenal and does well, I am sure Capello will look at him.”
“Someone always comes from nowhere. It was Theo Walcott last time. I have a feeling Kieran will be the one this season.”
“Kieran made that horrendous mistake against Manchester United last season but he has come back stronger from it,”
“Sometimes you need to make mistakes to be a better player.”
“Everybody makes them, it is how you respond. He has come back from that and shown he is a quality player.”
“If Arsene Wenger rates him highly, I am sure Fabio Capello will think he is worth a look.”
Wenger has already indicated that he thinks Gibbs is good enough, and has recommended him to Fabio Capello. He is also guaranteed some time to prove his quality in the Arsenal first team now that Gael Clichy is set to be out for a while.
