Real Madrid star ‘desperate’ to join Arsenal?
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero is ‘desperate’ to join the Gunners in January. This coming after Arsene Wenger insisted that he is happy with the squad at hand and is unlikely to sign anyone this coming transfer window.
“At the moment, in the transfer we are just interested in keeping our squad,” said the Arsenal boss.
We have a big squad and we are not after anybody”.
Granero has found himself way below the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu and a move seems to be on the cards.
However, I find this report hard to believe because just a few weeks back, there were reports saying that the Spaniard was going to snub Arsenal and move towards the millions of Malaga.
‘El Pirata’ is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a second striker. And at just £5 million, he provides a cheaper alternative to players like Mario Gotze or Eden Hazard. The Spaniard would be a great signing for the Gunners if any deal were to take place.

The minute AW shows any interest in any player and it becomes common knowledge, the price is immediately inflated by the player’s club and agent, and the so-called big spenders jump in to hijack the move! So dont be surprised that AW will now only reveal his cards at the very last minute.

Granero coming depends on diaby’s performance in up coming wks,if still slacking will definitely leave us wt no choice…All in all we do need another experienced MF as backup for d in-form song(I think joel obi d nigerian might do d trick @ 4 million) & also another goal-hungry partner for d legend RVP.

Hmmm, what if players dnt get injured? January one player leaves for African nations’ cup, like d Boss says ‘we have a big squad’ he has enough headache selecting his players ryt now, we’ve got many players glued to d bench. adding more wouldnt be appropriate for now. Lets just leave it to the Boss, he’s capable….. Its nice to see smiles on the faces of fans again after a very horrific season start.

I believe that when song,gervinho,chamakh goes to the african cup player like frimpong,coquelin,diaby will fill songs place thats why they aint away on loan. And ryo is going to take gervinhos place, wenger knows what he is doing he aint dumb,he knew that gervinho was going to the african cup so he worked hard to keep ryo in england. AOC isn’t best subtitut for gervinho. Ryo is more look-a-like

Granero for five million will be like gazidas’s wages…. Money down the drain! He is know better than the players who can’t get into our first team, I’d rather use this money to tie van Perdue down for five more years.

If Wenger buys Granero then we would have to do something about our surplus of midfielders.
We have to try get some of our excess players by putting them up for loan or something.
It doesn’t serve the player’s nor arsenal’s interests to have players not getting any game time!

I think most people agree: get rid of our dead wood. But which player will lose their place in our team to Gozte? Arteta, Wilshire, Ramsey? … What about Ryo or Chamberlain? When do we give them a go? If there are any players we need, it’s a possibly a proven striker to give RVP a rest when required. (But to be fair, maybe we already have one, but they just need to rise to the occasion). Sure, you have the right to your opinion, but if people are not agreeing with you, give it arrest mate.
(FYI – I love Gotze. He’s a great player! Talented, skilled, dynamic. But I also love Messi for all the same reasons. And I would love it if he were to be a Gooner, but let’s face it, it ain’t going to happen). We have a good squad. Could be better, but I think there is also plenty of room for improvement. Manshitty have one of those “perfect squads” … And are they in the CL anymore? Nuff said.

Reuss seems a more realistic option & within Arsenal’s budget – Moussa Sow is gd enough – I reckon Junior Hoilett is the best man to get he has premiership experience, pace,skill & can score goals! Wld b gd 2 play the Arsenal way!!!!!!!!!!!

its wenger’s smartness to say hes happy right now because if he said granero is an ‘interesting player’,he will be on demand and the buyer will need to pay a higher fee.i wont be surprised if hes desperate,because hes not wanted right now at madrid…
who wouldnt want to play in a top club with gr8 facilities under an ‘exceptional manager’ whose team is firing on all cylinders right now.but no way,we will get him for a 5mill,that doesnt seem feasible to me.

Tbh wer not going to win much with the players weve got. We myt get top 4 if wer lucky nd the carling cup. But we need to clean out a lot of players that arnt preforming lyk diaby, rosicky, squillachi, beniyon, and even mb arteta and replace them with good players that will win us trophies but not all at once we need to do it over the nxt 4 yrs

Talk of Gervinho leaving for ACN, have you guys watched videos of Juan Manual Vergas? He is the perfect person for that position. I think we are headed for a situation in which we play to catch up with our rivals and also play three leagues (EPL, CL and Carling Cup) at veru competitive levels and exhaustion from many games may make players get to average levels of performance. We need Granero at that price. We equaly need Vertongen – now that we have not seen the consistency in Per Martesacker. As an additional striker and replacement for Arshavin (who will surely leave) Arsenal may consider Solomom Kalou (Good Price -7m)or Jefferson Farfan (although a winger) – Shalke wants to switch him with Arshavin)or Brek Shea (will be training with gunners in December). Podolsky etc will just crush the 50m budget allocated in only two players. We could offload between 4 to five players depending on the position on Denilson. I think we should now recall Vela. It is obvious that Arsenal cannot grow when the team is purely formed of youngstars. RVP is not a mentor to fellow players – he seems like a hands on person who cares about thier own jobs. Arteta is a mentor. Coquelin and Ramsey and examples of outcomes from his mentorship. We need a few more mentors in every part of the pitch. It is in this way that Vela, Coquelin, Frompong, Kyle etc will be players to look up to in the future

We may have a “big squad” but outside the first 13 or 14 players, the quality and experience drops. Clubs like Chelsea have that quality 18 or 19 players down the list, City more so. I’d welcome him for 5m in Jan.

All we need in our midfield, is gotze. But this shouldn’t happen until next summer. If we keep going like this and RVP doesn’t get injured at all this season, then we can win a trophie and persie will probs have 30-40 plus goals. Doing this will make players wanna join us due to how new achievement after the drought and then we can build for next season. The only position we need a signing for is in defence so we remain solid for january onward cause that’s when football gets more serious and more injuries occur. Sign just one defender that fits the bill and keep fighting. I won’t mind cahill if he can also play left bk n right bk cause that way he can hit the ground running without having to time to settle. But we need to sell alumnia (1mill due to his performance), sell denilson (3mill same reason) and asharvin (8-10mill if he doesn’t improve). We need rosicky, benayoun and diaby to be fit for certain games to keep certain players fit. Wilshere coming back will be the key in our chamPs league games cause him and song will work hard for us when it comes to defending as a team. I hope we get that brek shea guy from america… Would be good to have another guy in the team. We need goals,form,clean sheets and believe that we can do it. We just ONE trophy… Just ONE to break this curse.
