Redknapp – Spurs have a good chance of signing Joe Cole!
The Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole still hasn’t decided where he will be playing next season, but most of the rumours have suggested Arsenal or Tottenham are the front runners for his signature, especially since his agent said it was unlikely that he would move away from the Premiership, and that Cole would only move to a club in the Champions League.
Today Harry Redknapp had an interview with TalkSport, and said that he was keen on signing Cole, and thought he had as much chance as anyone.
He said: “You know he’s got lots of options, I think quite a few clubs want him,”
“I had a great relationship with him as a kid; I signed him when he was 11 years of age.
“As I said before he lived for football, he was the best schoolboy footballer I have ever seen without a doubt.
“He has still got that enthusiasm I think, but whether there is a chance of getting him, I feel there is a chance.
“I don’t think it will be easy, but I think we have got as good a chance as anybody.”
Cole set out the terms he was looking for just last week when he returned from the World Cup. He said: “The next contract I sign will be a footballing decision. I want to play in a more central position.
“I want a manager who has faith in me – and I’m talking about club football here.
“It is a big decision for me and my family but I’m open to anything at the moment.
“I have purposely not spoken to anyone while I’ve been here because that wouldn’t be fair on England.
“My phone has been turned off but now I want to sort it all out.”
With Redknapp’s long association with the player, and the glowing terms he has spoken of Cole. It would seem that he definitely has the faith that he desires. I can’t see Wenger matching Redknapp’s promises or the wages on offer, so my prediction is that Cole will be a Spurs player next season.

I personally don’t rate Cole so highly, so I’m not bothered if he joins us or not.
He would not fit into a central midfield with Cesc & Song.
I would prefer to see Wilshire play personally.

unless we sell walcott or rosiky or nasri and one or two other short arses i cannot see how we would fit him in week in, week out?
if – and i don’t think it will happen – cesc leaves then he would be a very very good signing.

‘Awy Wedknapp is falling all over himself about Joe Cole. I only here him week in week out, crying about Cole might hav signed for someone else, oh how he called the agent and he didn’t get an answer, this man is a clown…Anyway i’m not bothered about getting Cole, especially when We have Jack Wilshere. If we aren’t going to get Gary Cahill then Wilshere stays!

Enough already, being english (I am one too) is not enough reason to buy him. We have enough sicknote players without buying another. He hasn’t shown me that he could or would want to fit into our system.
I reckon he should go to Spurs as we don’t need him and I don’t want a stream of Chelski rejects wearing red & white. I hope Spurs end up paying him £200,000 a week cos I have nothing against Cole and wish him well.

I do rate cole as a good player, but right now we already had Wilshere.. And as far as I can remember, Capello is also after him for his future european cup team.. For me our attacking midfield is enough, just play our transfer fee around the defensive division like DM, Defender, and hope we can get manuel neuer and I think we are ready to win the trophies..
