Robbie Savage ‘Thinks’ It’s A Two Horse Race For Fourth Place
When you think of the name Robbie Savage what immediately comes to mind? A tough tackling midfielder. Mouthy. Strictly Come Dancing? I bet not many of you said football pundit. Well he is the latest ‘pundit’ to have his say on Arsenal.
Speaking on Match of the Day 3 Savage was asked his thoughts on who would win the Premiership. He said, “I think it’s a two horse race. I think the title is going to stay in Manchester. I think fourth place is up for grabs. Liverpool or Spurs. I think Arsenal won’t finish in the top four this season.”
Presenter Colin Murray then asked Savage was he definitely ruling Arsenal out of a top four finish. Savage said, “I think so. I think Spurs & Liverpool are in better positions than Arsenal. Obviously in the table and in their squads. I think the players Arsenal brought in on transfer deadline day were panic buys. Not sure if he (Arsene Wenger) would have bought them originally. So I think its between Liverpool & Spurs.”
Gosh that was an awful lot of thinking for Robbie Savage. Eight “I think”s in the space of two paragraphs. His brain, if he can find it, is probably still hurting him now after that.
As much as it hurts me to say I agree with his comments on where the title will end up, I can’t agree with him when he says that Liverpool and Spurs have better squads than Arsenal. Perhaps I have my rose tinted Arsene Wenger spectacles on and am a little biased.
OK we may not get fourth. Who knows what is around the corner, but we will be in there fighting all the way to the end, and come May Arsenal supporters across the world will be hoping Robbie Savage will be eating his words. Stick to the dancing if I were you Robbie.

How many games have been played and how many are still to be played last season Manu had a far worst squad than arsenal but did they not win the league. People r jus too quick to predict even if arsenal was on top of the league i know they wud still be sayin that arsenal wont win the league n even if they dont its not the end of the world they can only improve.

Maybe Man to man Spud are better at the moments but what count are the mentality of the player and winning culture. In this part Spud are lacked behind. If we can work together in attack and defence barring any silly mistake. Spud will have a fight in their hand but at this point of time they a slightly favourite. It okay with us. Let the team settle in another few games then only we will know how far we can go.

Spurs fan – Modric didn’t change his mind, he was forced to stay after handing in a transfer request. If you think Adecashmore is at your dump because he wants success you are more of an idiot than your comments suggest.Nobody else wanted him or would pay his ridiculous wages. If he gets a better offer he will be gone at the end of the season. Arsenal never went in for Parker so he never got the chance to reject us. Every year we hear about the ‘power shift’ even if you ever did finish above us it wont stop you being a second rate side when compared to the mighty Arsenal.

On the one hand you say I agree with Savage, who if you didn’t notice said that Spuds would finish 4th or 5th and on the other hand you say we are title contenders!!! Modric stayed back not because he saw potential (what potential can you see when a team cannot even finish in the top 4), its because he had no other option. i just love some people, spurs of all the teams. power shift when you play in real europe once in a life time, and thats just because you overstayed in this world. if you want to know Arsenal is great, just see how much the world is focused on their performance, who knows what position spurs finished last season.dotmund were german champions , they have same start of a season like Arsenal ,but no body cares to talk about that.

OK guys.. I STILL don’t get the Gary Cahill bit… Bolton are crap and have a far worse defense that we have….
It must be something that I haven’t seen but if it is a choice between a 6ft 6 German defender with 76 caps and world cup experience or a English defender who plays for the bottom premiership club with only a few caps.. I know who I would take.
As for the panic buys… Maybe Yossi and Arteta but we did ask for premiership experience! I think the rest were in the pipeline for a while..
I was just happy that at least a bit of cash was splashed… I hope this is not that whoever has the cash in AFC enjoyed the retail therapy and has found it (at least a bit) addictive ready for January…

The truth does hurt and some of what the spurs fan is true if you are objective. We could do with a Van der Vaart, Bale does possess more control and skill and end product than Walcott. Lennon who was exactly like Walcott, learned to deliver an end cross. Until his injury he was becoming useful. The Spurs defence is no better than ours now we have a better keeper. The Spurs fan kept that one out of his rants.
He also didnt compare RVP to Adebayor. So he was being selective and a little naive. The buys by wenger were panic buys. He never would have made those signings. we must all admit that.
What the Spurs fan should admit to as well, is that Spurs are copying the Arsenal model finally, building a stadium to ensure revenues are high enough to adhere to fair play rules under Uefa so that they can maintain a squad of reasonable talent. The fact is though, we have a manager that saw this years ago and we have been in that stadium reducing those debts so that by the time the first spurs fan walks through the new potato ground, ours will be fully paid off and will be able to sign any player in the world whilst spurs will be riddled with debt.
Arsenal and Wenger are the visonaries Spurs and the rest are merely the followers desparate to succeed us. You may have 5 minutes of fame as we hit a Rocky (another legend) road. But we will come good and will be the envy of the footballing world, achieving success without a sugar daddy based on sound financial decison making which will mean that we remain a success for decades to come.

We will beat spurs. Our midfield will dominate. We had a rough start but the more games we play, the better our team wil gel. It’s already starting to happen.
